Letters on cards show how the card was obtained. Either through challenges or through winning a match and getting lucky.

what's wrong with payig for cards??? You seem to think that the people making this game care more about your individual entertainment than making money.........

Thanks for the comments btw Rambobatman, at least there's someone with some intellect and the ability to post a decent comment in here. Had to be said, so thanks :D

Is there a way to turn off comments? Not saying that you guys are making stupid comments, but wow, these comments are so stupid.

"I've lost (and won) multiple games JUST because of someone missing a 90% hit."
- This will never happen. Y'know why? Because the game is made up of more than just one hit. If the game were only 1 card, with 1 HP, then yes you could make this statement. But the situation you are talking about, where after dozens of moves and attacks, it comes down to 1v1 and a miss lets one person win? The dozens of moves prior to that supposed 'all important' miss are what really make the game up. Better players can win despite a miss at a critical point, because they don't let the game get to a point where it all rides on one attack.

"I've lost (and won) multiple games JUST because of someone missing a 90% hit."
t let the game get to a point where it all rides on one attack.

oh, i also forgot to mention that almost all of the stuns, interrupts, items, and some of the innate abilities have some chance attached to them, would you have all these be 100% as well?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what you're asking for is a total rewrite of the game. Not only is it not going to happen but it shouldn't. As it is the game does emphasize strategy over luck. Luck is certainly a factor but a good player is still going to be able win games in which they miss. If you remembered to have fun instead of getting frustrated you'd be able to laugh at the ridiculous runs of luck that happen. Sure, it will cause you to lose sometimes but it'll allow you to win just as often; the luck element keeps the game interesting.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can see why you might feel that way but, if you were to make the increase you'd have to nerf all the 90% moves. They have that higher miss rate for a reason.

RamboBatman: I disagree. Having miss on popo's gamebreaker slingshot seems like an OK idea, but the 90%+ hit chances are unnecessary. I've lost (and won) multiple games JUST because of someone missing a 90% hit.
Game should be more about prediction than chance.

lokai556: while many people have suggested that, it totally unbalances the game. The only reason that moves like vvoss' double slash are fair is that they have a relatively high miss rate. Without these sort of high-risk, high-reward moves the game would be kinda boring.

i think biggest reason some people dont like the idea of buying cards is it makes the time they put into the game less meaningful...
ie. 1000+ games and endless challenges for a few measly cards that you are so very happy to get. And then all those hours of game time is reduced to some punk buying all the cards, you worked so hard to get, for $5. lol
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well i was a beta tester that earned all of my cards on my own with over 1000 plus games and got mt record deleted when it went live but im not complaining :3 This game will still be fun and challenges will still rock. But for those who dont have the time to earn the cards but REALLY want to play they can fork out some cash for the cards they want :3

Seriously, unless it turns out that the Kreds system is a replacement for rather than an addition to the current methods for obtaining cards, people have no reason to be upset.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
not to mention it will stop ppl from playin some of the other games. the challenges sometimes forced you to play a game you normally wouldnt have. and even some i liked, even tho i probably never woulda played them, so that helped to support the other developers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ok so maybe i misphrased, its not that it is unfair as far as buying opposed to getting them for free. obviously in life you get what you pay for. but i think it is just unfair to those who have spent so much time on this game and waiting for challenges to get thier cards. those ppl should be rewarded somehow, with like a badge or something setting them apart. because without them, this game would not be as popular as it is. agree with gwc things do cost money to run. so not mad at supporting kongregate, and kongai developers. just think that the ppl that were here for a long time, waiting for challenges and playing hundreds and hundreds of games for thier cards deserve some type of credit or stripes so to speak to set them apart.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
agree bein able to buy cards will make this game suck. right now we all have to wait for card challenges and or get lucky and win one. but if ppl are able to buy them, the fairness goes away in obtaining cards. now instead of doin the challenges or earning them by actually playin the game. you can just come in at lvl one and have more cards then me at level 8. thats stupid. cus it took me over 300 games to earn most of my cards.

Cards that u can buy and earn are the same so there usually wont be such a problem. Also Kongai is about Yomi and there is no "better" card as each has its own weaknesses and strengths. Tho some of the higher tier cards have fewer weaknesses they have them no doubt. Kongai and many other online games are hobbies and hobbies COSTS money no matter what it is. U can argue any way u want but its another way for people to show even MORE support for Kongregate and i would fully support it

midg3333 - please remember that if you buy cards you will have more powerful items and characters - winning with them with others will be much easier ;-)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i dun really see whats the problem with buying Kreds -.- people who have money buy em and those who dont just have to spend more time. Kreds lets u save time and if u dont have money u spend more time. I dont intend to spend money at all but i think its pretty alrite with me if others get more stuff cos they pay :3 i mean its only right -.- and well id love to get Kreds whenever i can to help Kong out :3 i hope u guys earn more through this! Keep up the good work!

I personally detest the kreds thing. But still, buying cards doesn't give you a real edge. Think about it: winning cards should be appreciated, challenges should be taken... Buying cards... ugh
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why do you care if people buy cards? don't complain about it everyone. Buying cards is kinda silly because you really get wins in this game by predicting the opponent and choosing the best move in comparison to your energy, the opponent's energy and the current distance etc. People why buy cards will either be new to the game, aand need cards but not know what they're doing and will still lose, or know what they're doing and not really need the cards, effectively donating to kongregate
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
cope2.... then what runescape is doing is working. some ppl pay, some dont. the ones that dont know they could and get a "better" game experience... some will ultimately decide to fork out money. Things go as planned for the people running the game.
If Kongregate gets it right, it can be successful with getting new ppl to buy cards. if not, then itll die.
the card winning rate is a bit of a problem i think... it shouldnt be by luck. because actually buying one becomes less appealing. but if card earning was a long grind (i.e. your first one at 50wins, then 100, 250...or whatever). then maybe people would rather buy.
