No errors, and I made sure that the code is the EXACT same code on page 11 (the window pop-up one), but when I do the test movie, (and the .swf) I can't move the ship with the arrow keys.

there is something messed up with this tutorial unless it is just CS4's fault. If you follow every step completely the movie doesn't do anything when you test it. I have tried it multiple times and it doesn't work.

If anyone can help, what should I do, if I get an error: "The file 'toplevel.as', which is required for typechecking ActionScript 2.0, could not be found. Please make sure the directory '$(LocalData)/Classes' is listed in the global classpath of the ActionScript Preferences."

if you got CS4, this won't work for you, only works with CS3 (I got CS3) just a problem, how can I fix this error? "The class or interface 'Ship.as' could not be loaded." please reply as a whisper

if you get the ''The class or interface 'Ship.as' could not be loaded" error
just save your flash file (your ship, not the actionscript) (file, save as)
to the place where you saved your actionscript. that solved my problem.

Hmm if you know your stuff about torrents and have Bitlord, Bitcomet or a program alike here is the torrent link:
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3966221/Adobe_Flash_CS3_%289.0%29_Professional___KeyGen__amp__Inst
Follow the .nfo instructions(just open with notepad) and there is a serial key generator. Use it, it works. :)

I had some problem with page 9 as well started playing around on it and found the problem. you have to make sure you save the game before running the test with out the game saved in the same folder as the .as file the game can not find the .as file.

i figured it out.. :) every time you write some thing in the action script you have to save and then play it. also when you have to save the fla in the same folder as .as file all you have to do is make a folder and put the the script file in it and the ship fla in the same folder. its really easy any question send me a message. :)

I can't figure out what's wrong here. The ship won't fly across the screen like the say on page 9. I'm using CS4, I made sure it's AS2 and the class is named Ship. My actionscript file is named Ship too. Should I name it Ship.as? I made sure my class is MoveClip and I have all of the code right. The ship won't fly across the screen. How do I debug it? What do I do?
I'm having THE SAME THING! PLEASE HELP
