What's with the pichu riding that sheep pokemon (whose name escapes me at the moment) in the background of the start screen?

This is a great game. To me, this is a game that we really needed to have for a long time: a turn-based RPG with no narrative. Who are we? Where are we? Who are we fighting and why? Do we have some ulterior motive? Are we the bad guys? Questions like this don't even enter the player's head. They aren't important, much like in Pac Man or Mario. This is an RPG without any of the story that RPG's are so well known for, and I love it for that. I love good turn-based combat, and stripping away the narrative to focus on that combat really helped to make it that much better. As the later games proved, story needn't get in the way, but this was a great step in the right direction. I haven't seen turn-based combat this good in any other series yet.

lol i tried to defeat regirock using my stone sword. Obviously i played too much pokemon, so my thinking was something like quake = earthquake. It healed it for 30k :/

Love the use of matoya's cave on the opening menu. very nice choice of song. The final fantasy influence is pretty much the biggest factor here.

this is a huge mix of pratically every major rpg, including final fantsy,(mail moogle is one reason) and pokemon, (that one is kind of obvious why.) Rate up so all can know

Man, i hate that Goku boss. When you almost killed him, he seals your abilities so that you can't heal, throws a spirit bomb on you and then beams both of you before you can use potions. I really don't want to play through all the stages again just because he had 5% of his HP left.

thought it was a crossover at first, because i saw peachu in the loading screen, then on hte second level, i heard the music of hyrule field from twightlite princess zelda. still in the middle of it right now though, but im still really confused. i give it a 5/5 though

Died on the zombie boss which brings me to this. It really needs a save button then ill rate it 5/5 but for now i rate it a 4.5/5

The final zombie boss is impossible- even on easy, and with no save, it gets frustrating. Still gave 5/5, love the series man, keep it up :)

The ****ed up Zombie guy in the graveyard is the final boss and for those that think he looks like a DBZ character because of his giant hair is because that is Zombie Goku........and this is like the 3rd or 4th time he was reanimated. Pro tip: Spam holy attacks.

@Tiger It tells you to "brace for spirit bomb" which means you need to click "defend" so they take WAYYYY less damage. It will only hit you for around 4-5k then. Jack wagon...

wth? i get "goku" to about half health then he does some spirit bomb crap that does over 10k to the healer killing her, and 9.5k to the guy, then he attacks again to kill him. real nice game there -_-

Best stock of pots to get from first shop: 5 potions, 2 max potions, 3 ethers, 1 max ether, 7 antidotes, 4 WOLs, 3 attack potions, 3 magic potions, and 2 bombs. You will have nothing left over, but use them wisely, as you only have $7K for the other shop.
