nice game, but i found out early on that you could just leave a room and come back and the chest resets, if you ever make a squeal you might want to make it so that the chest doesn't reset.

This is what I've been looking for. Replayibility, massive size, random dungeon generators, and ingenious plot / dialogue. It even has Nyan Cat. What more could you possibly want? A LOT of work went into this, and it shows. In recognition of that, I'll be playing this a LOT. And wishing for a sequel. 5/5

Hm. Not sure if this is intentional, but chests continue to spawn in areas even when the enemies have long since been defeated. This makes it pretty easy to farm items and equips. The easiest location and earliest location I've found for for farming is Floor 5 of Evil Cave because there is a warp there and two potential chest spawns. All you need to do is walk up and down and you're bound to come across some purple items. (+ If you think this helps)

Traditionally, you are supposed to regain 100% MP and HP when you level up. In this game, you do not. Which is disappointing. Also there's not much of a sense of customization, since you have to choose one path and stick with it.

this is a pretty bad ass game i appreciate LAN14N hard work on it cause it remind me of some of the old games i use to play. The only thing i think would be useful is a auto attack button. i love the game i just wish i could share the save between both the my laptop and my phone

The beauty of this game is the simplicity. there aren't thousands of stats to learn and infinite equipment options. the classes are clear defined and mixable; you can have a healer-rogue. i thoroughly enjoy the game and give it a 5/5

But anyway, the best party I can think of is (after all 4 have lvl 1 abilities from all trees): Tristam as a Rogue w/ red sword, Kaeli as a Healer w/ blue bow, Phoebe as a Fighter w/ red hammer, Reuben as a Mage w/ blue spear. When all have lvl 30 abilities, Tristam goes for Fighter, Kaeli goes for Mage, Phoebe goes for Rogue and Reuben goes for Healer. Mage and Healer trees are indeed more important than Fighter and Rogue, but for the ones who think that Fighter and Rogue trees are useless, just remember they have powerful debuffs, such as attack/magic down (Fighter) and defense down (Rogue), which can make some hard battles a lot easier.

I just want to let the author know that in one of the later dungeons (about 3/4 of the way through the game) , I found a ring and it immediately crashed my flash player plugin on Firefox. It was gold, but I don't remember the name of it. Now my save is apparently corrupted because trying to load it crashes flash again. Sorry for not being as helpful as I could, but that's the ONLY bug I've found.

Mages and Healers seem to be the best, because Magic effects MP and magic damage, and I don't think magic attacks can miss either. I've never ran out of MP anyways.

Crystal Story is a turn based rpg that uses a random dungeon generator. You control four characters and configure what skill sets they learn along the way. You can earn equipment upgrades that will help you traverse through Evil Cave by destroying monsters or playing minigames

so.... If I dont have a lot of magic my abilities will be very poor ..., oh well, its better to use a seed sometimes, never sell your equip, when it gives you like 32 or 40 of magic and get a little down your power........................ so becareful in what you sell

Phoebe can be skilled on a very interesting way, I see. I managed it to make her both defensive and aggressive, with the penalty being her speed... she rarely takes more than 30 damage and has the highest damage output. In exchange, she acts last in the team (while Reuben, skilled to be the quickest one in my team, is acting twice before her, I don't know if that is a bug or if it's supposed to be like that). Fighter Skills, Aegis Warplate, Maul Hammer & G Sniper Ring equipped. I don't know if it is better to equip "The Ring" instead, I haven't found that freakin' Samurai Boss yet.

Would be nice to see stats of armor and weapons when you highlight them in the equip screen. Hard to complare lvl 2 of one item vs a lvl 5 of an other.

SUGGESTION:Add a Run Away button so you can flee of unwanted battles. Also apply for bosses, but with a lower rate of fleeing.

@eyesinthedark : No, you can get a map for any floor. You just need to explore it entirely before leaving to another floor.

I ran through it a second time, and if you want a really easy time finishing the game go with mages/healers instead of fighters/rogues.
