Excellent game, with only a few errors. Fairly balanced (with the exception of some weapons, like the fire starter, overwhelming their other counterparts), but running around gets old. The bestiary needs some tweaking: it only registers 42 monsters, even when you beat bosses, rare monsters (like the bahamut creature, and guitar), this may be a glitch? Mana growth is slow, but so is the scaling for powerful abilities, and mana potions are so powerful, running out of mp is almost impossible. Finally: repetitive music certainly gets old, so if a sequel is made, perhaps 4-5 tracks could be used. Seeing what abilities do in the ap buy screen could be useful too!

oh great. now the zombie defense game is bugged.. it counts down, 3, 2,1, then goes back to the town screen as if i just lost less than 1 second into the game.

zombie defense expert is retarded. its not even about difficulty or skill. its entirely based on luck. the closest ive gotten so far was a game where i was 2 seconds in and the boss was down to 5 bars remaining but i couldnt keep enough momentum after that and still lost. im lowering my rating to 3/5

are the zombie defense games based on your level? im matching continiously to the point where sometimes my clicks dont register because im clicking so fast. i've probably played hundreds of hours of match 3 games yet i cant seem to beat expert past half? do i just need to level up to deal more damage or is it unrelated?

One thing I noticed is that both debuffs and buffs are in the end unnecessary and just clutter the skill menu. In the beginning the debuffs are nicer due to the fact that one such as Armor Break will allow all the party members to get the extra damage against the enemy instead of just one. However as soon as you start facing the bosses which most have more then one stage (where all debuffs are wiped) and you have the buff all skills there is no reason to use the debuffs. Why use defense down (one or all) when you can use attack up (all) when fighting a boss and it will last the whole fight.

Farrhago: It's not useless all the time, maybe internally it keeps track of how long they've been up separately. Whenever I see that in other games that's why they do that.

!!! I loved Final Fantasy Mystic Quest!!! LOVE the reference to all their names! Decided not to give Phoebe the bow, though??

I find it strange that the "modifying spells" (Attack Up etc.) don't get cancelled out when one character has attack up and then gets weaken cast on them....I don't think a character should be able to have both the up and down effect simultaneously (e.g. having both haste and slow cast on the same character)...kind of defeats the point of both of 'em xD

I don't know if its the dame for everybody, but when the enemy double buffs on say def up, it negates it so I hit regular damage instead of my damage being reduced. Other that that GREAT game and excellent story line.

Lovely RPG, a speedy turn-based combat is always welcome in my books =)
One minor suggestion is that it would be nice to see where the 'town portals' are on the dungeon map once you discover them or gain the area map.

played this for a few hours, got to a decent stage and was wiping up mini bosses, flash crashed, lost all the save data -.-
Anyway, pretty fun, Match 3 just didnt seem to fit in well, no real benefit for having it and it was overly difficult.
Could also sue a yellow dot highlighting known warp zones in the minimap, becomes annoying if your trynig to bail and cant find it.
4/5 as it could have been much worse.

I'd give this game a lower score and not favorite it if it was solely Zombie Defense. The clicking control just isn't smooth, and hard is way harder than normal. I don't think I even want to try expert because from what I've heard it sounds impossible or you just rely on luck. There should be upgrades or something to your charactor.. Other than ZD, I love this game. The humor is great, and it's a fun "pick up and play" kind of game. Thanks for all your hard work!

This is definitely a great game, but I think that with the implementation of some passive skills (maybe unique ones for each character), it could be turned into a fantastic one!

You want my opinion? Well, I personally do not like this game. The animations are rubbish, and there is nothing that keeps the game alive. The only good thing is the music, to be honest. I'm sorry that I have upset many fans of this game, be I am commenting on the game, which this little box is for. I expect that most of you will downrate this because it is negative. The rating system is not really so much like/hate, more of a good/bad. And I mean in other ways than liking the game or not. So, you rate this down, and then tell me why it is bad. I want to know why, why does that happen? Hmm? I played the game and it game me minimal joy. So rate this down. Prove my point.

Also, since staying at the inn is free, why can't players just get a full heal immediately upon reaching town? It would save us some time.

@gamma73: I found my legendary stuff from Random Dungeons. Not sure if they exist in Evil Cave, but they don't seem that rare. Gambling gives them too.

This game has everything a good RPG needs. Fantastic storyline, memorable music, and I love all the characters. Truly a fantastic game, and I can't wait for #2!

Some status effect icons are difficult to see on some backgrounds and they are can be obscured by enemy graphics in some cases.

It would be nice if it didn't reset to page 1 everytime you sell something, it can get a little irritating clearing inventory if there are things you want to keep

Great job! This is easily one of the most enjoyable Flash RPGs I've played.
Excellent class balance- the one exception being that the upper levels of Healer don't do much. That was fine, though, as the extra AP can be invested in Mage for damage. The mass buffs were powerful enough that I actually used them, which is rare, and I never felt pressed for options. Plague, Root, and Mass Heal were my favorites, by the way.
Most of the stats got their fair representation- I found myself having to up my accuracy when I let it drop too much, etc.
If you ever add on or make a new one, having a really challenging fight (say, a party of four with the same levels as you and good-to-great equipment) would be a nice addition- at level 25? A single boss is easy to take down, no matter how much health.
Anyways, thank you for your hard work- this was quite enjoyable.

A little idea: I don't know how the other games feel or do, but i usually keep all the rare weapons (purple and orange names), and they are kind of filling up my inventory, so i tought u could make a little Bank or something like that in the Tavern, that way, we could store rare stuff, i mean, u never know when u want to turn ur fighter into a mage and vice versa...
