If the battles weren't so slow, the game would be much, much better. Being able to move through dungeons with the arrow keys would have been cool, too.

Starting scene "This is a story". Please don't tell me I wasn't the only one that thought "all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down".

Bug: I clicked to change zone and before I got there I clicked the backpack to check something. I went to a new room but it was black and I couldn't move. Everything was frozen.

This is a really great rpg! :D I finished epic battle fantasy 3 and was looking for something similar and this looked to be it:) And I liked that the bosses are reasonably more difficult than other creatures instead of next to impossible like in some games. The only thing is I would have liked to have some more quests instead of just defeating bosses.

sorry to double post. Also, the weapons that boosted the magic stat almost seemed pointless by comparison to the weapons that boosted attack, since characters have only a limited pool of MP. Maybe make it more worthwhile to cast attack spells? I found myself almost exclusively using the magic for buffs.
Lastly, there didn't really seem to be anything to actually spend money on. Even after upgrades and resupplying myself, I was finding that I have tens of thousands left in my pocket, simply because there was nothing to buy.

Rated at 5 stars. Some things I would like to see: The options for sound being remembered from one session to the next, more variety in weapons, an easier time of the zombie minigame or at least better rewards from it. Crafting would be nice, as would different art for various character reactions. Also weapons that boosted the magic

Such an awesome game. Did get a little tedious towards the end. Luckily, I was able to beat the final boss with just lvl 21 characters, so I could run and skip the last 4-5 floors other than killing the "king" on each.
5/5 great game!

please please please add a mute button, it's such a basic feature.
And before some dumbass propose that I can global mute, this is not a solution to the problem, what if I enjoy listening ot music form youtube while playing?, what if I am "kongregating" while doing other stuff that require audio awareness form the pc ( ventrilo/teamspeak or other voice chat functionality, for istance).
The lack of a mute is such an oversight, from where I stand it means I can't play this game if I want to/have to listen to anything else

Also, the last tip applies to high quality ingredients at the feed slime "minigame" in the tavern. I recommend you save up the ingredients, as having a more varied selection will vastly increase your range of "obtained" items - having more feathers seems to give a shitload of useless seed potions (DO NOT KEEP THESE. THEY ADD ONE PERMANENT STAT, WHICH IS BULLSHIT)

Just some tips and little hints that will prove useful in determining what class set ups you want to make:
* Mages are not affected by Critical and Accuracy stat
* Normal attacks are determined by Attack stat
* Heal amount is determined by Magic stat
* Mages generally deal the highest amount of damage; against single targets omnislash (tritom's fighter ultimate) deals the most.
* Physical AOE attacks (Such as triton's wrath for Reuben) are affected by crits and accuracy, making them much less reliable than mages for "farming"
* Orange level items are easy to obtain via reloading the game until you get it coughed out of a slime. They are also very, very rarely dropped by bosses, unique mobs, hard mobs and chests.

hugoooo: the upgrade cost is shown on the item. I think the interface would be better if the upgrade cost was shown on or near the upgrade button, though.

Hmm. Potions heal much more than advertised (at least used out of battle). Says they heal 400 HP, but it brought me up to full when I was ~520 down...

The effects aren't that good but graphics are great, although I prefer games that you can see how they attack, I like this nonetheless. The gameplay is great, kind of like FF 1-6 and gotta love the skills, difficulty's not too easy but not too hard either. Although it's disappointing since the skills of fighter, mage and rogue has the same order of buffs just different elements or something like that, the skills should be totally different for each class to have different types of gameplay. 5/5 favorite

Despite a few criticisms I'll go into I still rated the game 5/5. It's funny, interesting and keeps you playing. The problems I had were stuff like, you can only see item stats at the blacksmith when you're upgrading, I'd like it if you could see the stats on items in your inventory and in the shop. The hard and extreme levels of Zombie defense are a bit... gah. Also, the game is simply too easy and the higher skills are kinda useless, for example, I never used Greater Heal, since Heal always got me back to full hp or really close. The buffs also were a bit meh, since you don't need them even with bosses. Aside from the item stats issue, my main complaits are lack of balancing, and that's the reason I still game the game 5/5, since its design is well thought out and simply amazing if you take into consideration it's a one man job.

Oh, an MP Trick - equip a magical weapon then go to the inn. Then equip a physical weapon. Your MP will stay the same even though your cap is lowered. :P I think.

A good hint: for your physical units, if you have a magic and physical weapon available, if the difference is small (less than 10-15% of your total attack), equip the magic one. It'll double your MP, which is incredibly useful.

lan14n I just finished your game and enjoyed every part of it - the randomness of dungeons, player order and monsters. You have pulled the best elements out of a lot of RPGs and made them work well together. Looking forward to the next release. (Oh and the fact that I can keep on playing)

Do not remember having ever played a better RPG on Kongregate,or similar sites; maybe only the series of Sonny can compete, but this game really has something magical. Good work ^_^

other flaws i have found with the entire shop area:one, the items spawn randomly so i constantly have to hit back and forth until i get my high level items, and the only reason im doing that is because i cant max my weapons level out at the blacksmiths, so honestly i think this is a huge orginizational mess. thank you everyone for putting up with my comments, i give lots of constructive criticsm

two more things, segregating magic is a good idea, i dont know whether its magic attack or magic points, and in the shop it should give you increase statistics for ALL stats that are contributed, same with the inventory, speaking of which, it would be nice if you could see the stats of the item you have equipped, if i am wrong in saying any of this, please leave me a private message or shout, because i wont be constantly checking the comments

it would be nice to be able to go back to the menu screen from the game if that isn't already possible. Other than that and the really long loading, I love this game! Long hours of entertainment <3 I like mazes

really nice game, but there are i think a few things missing. one, a description of the classes, esp. what stats they need and their weaknesses so i can properly prepare my heros, otherwise im blindly making that one guy a fighter, when i dont know what a fighter needs, also you need to add what each element is strong/weak against, and what elements monsters are, ill update anything else i notice lacking, oh and by the way is it a bug that all the monsters dissapear after i battle one?

For all you people wanting badges, I've got some bad news. He didn't submit an API (high scores tab) instead there's a "more games" tab. That makes it impossible for greg to give the game badges. Such a shame...
