i accidentally drilled myself into the ground at the start of a jump and all of a sudden a pixelated penguin wizard tells me to "rise from your grave" and restarts me at full speed. Anyone experience this?

Haven't played in a whle and came back to find that my total distance flown doesn't go up when I fly. Sucks cause I'm 4th all time and I can't defend my place.
