For those wondering about Keepin' It Simple: Use only Body + Stages and reach space. Stages can be above lvl 4, contrary to what kukuhbr said. Space Shuttle lvl 4 + 4 Shuttle Reactors at lvl 5 worked for me. Penguin in Space: Empty Body. Nuclear Launcher. Shuttle Reactor lvl 10. F1 Bell Nozzle lvl 10.
