HOW TO GET THE 4,000 AND 6,000:
Get eveything. Then get your resistance to exactly 3% or at least pretty close. Then use your rocket to get up to 200 mph. Once the speed goes down to 175 mph, boost it back up to 200. Keep doing that until you are out of fuel. Then when you are out or rocket fuel, go down then up. Don't let your resistance go up to more than 6%. When you go back up you should have your resistance back at 3%. If you have done this correctly, you should have gotten far. This does work.

Great game. Lots of folks are posting resistance values for best glide, but the best indicator seems to be airspeed. Best glide endurance (longer time) with glider 1 is approx. 10mph; glider 2 is approx. 30mph; glider 3 is approx. 50mph. Best glide range (longer distance) with glider 1 is approx. 20mph; glider 2 is approx. 65mph; glider 3 is approx. 180mph. Thinking of the game as a physics problem, it is pure preference as to whether you use all of your fuel at the start (and then maintain a constant airspeed while gliding down) or keep some fuel to maintain speed while in the descent/after bounce. Total energy = potential + kinetic = altitude + speed.

HOW TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS:
You have to find file "learntofly.sol". I've got it in "Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\chat.kongregate.com\gamez\0004\5630\live\Learn_to_fly_Final_3.52k.swf\". These numbers in the path can be different so use your Search. When you perform your fly successfully this file will be updated. Copy the updated file in some other place. If you fail next day this file will be updated again. Replace it with your old copy. Then refresh the page with the game and start playing again - you will begin with previous day.

Congratulations! You just won the Around the World in 18 Days Badge and 30 points!
Tip: You can usually knock out the altitude and glide achievements in the same run. Saves quite a few days when you do.

Believe in yourself to achieve your ultimate dream – Wait, no, that's not the moral of this game at all. How depressing. CLICK THE . FOR SECRET

Hmm, I now think it might be possible to complete in 13 days. My best still is 14 days, but I keep having one day where I make a mistake (tried several times, each time I made a different mistake).
Has anybody done it in 12 days yet?

make sure to nose down on day 1 and 2 so you skip. Choose acceleration on day 1, glider on 2 along with accel. The easy things to get first are height and glide time. You can usually get those before you finish the ramp before it.
As for the 6k, you need to have all (or mostly all) of the upgrades. Try to reach 180 to 200 height without using TOO much rocket then level off with a 2 or 3 angle. use rocket to keep speed around 175ish. You should be able to hit 6k without even getting close to hitting the water.

this gtame has the worst gloitches ive ever seen such as i cant control my flight because im traveling so fast i automatically go underwater or that the booster just keeps going half the time even after u take of spacebar

Haha. Finally got it in 17 days. I could have done better since I got to the last stage at 13, but I just played it safe, mopped up some achievements without upgrading so I could buy max everything, and smoked it.
