Just press the up arrow with your glider and then down arrow to get extreme boost while in air. (Oh, rockets are helpful when downgraded below 1250 ft.)

the controls are not fuc.ked it's just with lauch games they have a sensative reaction to the controls so you can move slightly or a lot if you want so that means that they are usally the first games to be ruined if your computer has sticky keys (ps i loved this game) + if you agree

The comment above is accurate "for 6000 feet: From the start ramp use 2/3 of your fuel getting altitude, when you are high enough, even out and burn the rest of your fuel to get as much speed as you can. At this point blance your penguin so that he is flying at 1% resistance".
At the launch / altitude burn, I pulled up to about 18% resistance to gain additional altitude, levelled out to 1% and burnt the remainder of my fuel then. With that much altitude, i reached the water at about 5800 and happily skimmed through the rest. You could hover through but I figured I had easily made it.

Rocket to 150 ft, glide at 0% until 20ft then rocket back up to 150ft and repeat.. i got well beyond 6k feet before it cut me off and went into end game video

my lowest altitude "-132 feet" best glider as high as i could and rocketed (best rocket) to the bottom of the sea. Took me about 2-3 minutes to pop back up on screen

Oops, actually I did that on an older version of the game while on another side from a while back and it doesn't seem to work anymore, disregard that tip!

Pro-tip for first flight: if you hold RIGHT (tilt forward) during the whole first flight, you'll actually go far enough to get the distance achievement, thus being able to buy the glider your first time into the shop.
