I am having a glitch that causes the screen to get darker after every attack. Pretty soon I won't be able to see at all : (

I have got another idea. You could be able to buy chests at the shop. They could be empty or not (not really important). Their difficulty would differ depending on the city
1st - easy
2st - medium
3rd - hard
Very hard only after battles.

Slow, boring, lack of character. The basic system is there, but the dynamic is gone when you only have a team of 1 to start with (even if they're comp' controlled). I don't know how much code it would take, but there's got to be more to it than this.

it's too mouse-centric and too slow. I suggest the player doesn't have to be asked to which side he wants to face - after pressing end turn - if I say end turn, that means I want to end.

moleman - are you referring to the enemy AI not taking advantage of side/back attacks?
Because one of the first things said in the tutorial is "attacking from high points or behind will do extra damage"
and in the first mission i've already had a back attack do more damage

alot of people wont get that so let me elaborate
the point of a tactics game is to plan your moves, to try to get a high point or advantage on the enemy. if you take that way its just...boring

The ultimate treasure that is the last piece that you have to grind to find 50 treasure is something that gives you more treasure? Why? You don't need to look for treasure anymore! GARRRR!!!! At least let me explode enemies or something cool!

oh, one more thing. Having to manually rest and save (with only one save slot) is really irritating too, and slows down the already slow game. remove all the manual steps that the user could avoid, save at the end of every winning battle.

the game is very nice and clean, but it does get slow if you're watching it over and over again. I agree you need a skip animation mode. Also, the choose direction arrows (and the menu options) are tiny! Allow the user to click in just the general area of them (use invisible ink) and it'll flow much faster.

So I was thinking about it, this game should really have an animation off mode. You click, your character appears there. You attack, numbers flash and health gets deducted. None of this slow walking or combat crap. Make it optional under the settings menu.

Glitchy... if I try to walk in front of me and it has red squares to say I can, but the path is blocked, my guy walked backwards and stopped, in a completely inconvenient location.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its not bad, but it is just too SLOW. Taking a turn takes forever and lots of clicking for a basic move-attack.
Lockpicking sucks. Especially since there is no way to abort. Once you break your lockpick you are screwed.

Ok, so I won a battle (fire scorpion was the last guy, on Great Pyramids) and I beat the last guy with poison. So I started another battle, and it first subtracted 5 health from a blank space (it was a green 5) and then re-awarded me 60 exp. Not that I'm complaining :P. Then, when there was a super beetle and a purble snake left, I moved behind the snake with Kronus and selected slice, but it wouldn't let me select the snake who was right in front of me and was highlighted. The mouse didn't even chagne to a hand. Then, when I killed the other guy who was a super beetle, it said I won, even though I had an enemy still alive. Just a small bug with a long explanation.

really, likwidgames, REMAKE THIS GAME! Add some storyline. I love rpg's but i need something to follow along with to keep me interested enough to keep playing

I feel it warrants a 3/5. I like the system but I think you need to take a few things into consideration. I think that some of your numbers are a little off for example the first inn is way to high for something you need to do after every fight.
I also feel it needs some kind of storyline. It's funny to see how people who are really good programmers have a problem caring about a story, but there should be a reason I'm fighting these things. Maybe get one of your more artistic friends who knows nothing about programming to just help you come up with a story. Show them what kinds of terrain they could make or whatever and then release a Ultimate Tactics II with their story and their terrains but your great system.
@Gavrikov It does matter which way you face, attacks from the back or side do more damage. It allows you to make it take more squares of movement for your enemies to get to your back.
