It's good until the first boss battle. Then, you just die since you can't block and the boss can throw spears. Samurais typically did carry two swords. If the villains can carry two weapons, why can't you?

I loved the concept. IF there was something like this as a large console or pc game in 3-d it would be amazing.
Sort of wished there was a seppuku easter egg if you did the right cut.
5/5

The bugs in this game made it very unenjoyable for me. The game could've also really used some feedback in the way of sounds for special hits, such as the catapult balls and the final boss.

@Battleswat no you dont have to use the arrows just when you drag for the sword swipe aim close to the head and decapitate it for a headshot

Love how the author of this game made the right attack system for the game! Love the slicing! (blood squirts) oh, did I made the enemy's head fly off? XD

to hit the boss you must slash him so he jumps into the air then slash him as hes on his way down. i recommend placing your character in the center of the screen so you can slash the area behind you.

CasterFreakz try'd to give helpful advice. Shatner was complaining about the game.
Caster got a -5 rating, but Shatner got +3..... what is wrong with Kongregate players -.-

Tried killing the boss 37 times without getting him, chopped at him constantly when he was in the air - Wouldn't do the trick - was wrong....

Would be alot better it when you slashed, you see the samurai move relative to how you moved the mouse. Feels kinda cheap that he just dissapears

to defeat the catapult, i had to randomly slash the air till it died. just to get backstabbed by the f***ing last pikeman

As others have said, the unique qualities of this game's design earns it high marks. Developers did a stellar job in capturing the cinematic effect of old samurai films. The only thing missing is the over-the-top blood spray at the end and torsos sliding apart. I loved the game, but I do wish the scrolling animation was a bit faster. Quickly checking the position of archers, or oncoming spear or shield wielders would do a lot to help evaluate the field. An unobtrusive mini map might accomplish the same effect. Still, a new favorite for me.

"OMG it's him, that incredibly fast samurai! What do we do?? "
"BRING ON A CATAPULT!"
That actually worked, it killed me.

I loved the idea of drawing the sword slash, and it actually following what you did. I like when games take a step in a new direction, and I think this really paid off. Even just the little things, like the final kill, he is standing so calm. Things like that just make you feel that little bit cooler.
