what a cool game...I didn't get the up to climb down the ladder/stairs thing for a few minutes, but after that it was a lot of awesome fun. Thanks Nerdook.

First playthrough - Repeatedly gunned down near the subway, by what seems to be an escaped convict with a machinegun, after playing for a while. Reloaded the page and went again.
Second playthough - Found Anna in the first block I checked. xP
I really like the concept and the random generation, I just wish you could go on longer.
If there's a sequel planned, I'd love to be able to choose a timespan and have the size of the city adjusted to scale. =)

A simple, yet brilliant game with perfect gameplay. Got me hooked up until the very end (haha, found Anna and got nuked :)) And plus point for cool graphics.

lol, killing zombies with a Teddy Bear. Also...... "no other survivors at ELM STREET" Hmmm..... anyone think Freddy Krueger got to them? lol. Anyway, great game!

I would think the prisoners would be like thank god lets go to the boat and live a zombie free life! But I guess there happy killing random people

Well, I beat the game, but with only 9 survivors. So I start again, figuring I'll never play it again if I don't now, but then I just die 5 times in a row in the first place I go. The keys kept sticking (flash's fault, not the dev's, right?) but also, I couldn't kill any zombies with any close-range weapons! What? As soon as my ammo ran out, I was screwed. I kept pressing space bar but the weapons wouldn't swing... well, screw you, I'm not wasting my time playing through this a second time.

This is such a great game! SOme aspects of it remind me of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising, but this is also something completely of its own. Bravo!

A sign that god loves you: you have an assault rifle, auto shotgun, heavy pistol, and revolver. you have 3 survivors and Anna, and you just found an ammo crate. XD
5/5

This is a great game, but there are still a couple of bugs.
First, sometimes the POLARIS VIRUS container sometimes won't spawn in the game and can't be found at the location where the other military bodies say it is. As a wild guess, I would presume that when the city is parametrically generated, the entrance for the room where the POLARIS VIRUS container is being spawned has been pushed off-screen by other buildings.
Second, sometimes a supply will appear at the top of a tall thin tower of some kind and be unreachable because you're not allowed to place two rope ladders on top of each other. You may want to make sure all towers are at least two tiles wide to avoid this problem.
Even with the aforementioned bugs, 5/5.

Nerdook, you never cease to amaze me. Cluesweeper, then this game, and also your recent hit Monster Slayers. I'm a big fan, but this here is a Z.T.M.D Review, not a Nerdook review.
I was surprised by the concept of this game, seeing as how this was similar to the earlier design of one of my favorite video games, Left 4 Dead (For those who say NUH-UH, go to commentary mode L4D1). And scavenging buildings for clues in your relentless pursuit of your daughter in the city, coupled with the pressure of the ever-present "ticking clock", thrown in with rescuing survivors and the escaped convicts, this game is a work of art only hurt by the possibility of finding your daughter quickly and ending the game. And after three or four times, even with the randomly generated city, it gets repetitive. I mean REPETITIVE. Nerdook, I love ya, but I can only give you a 4/5 for this game. The concept, soundtrack, and weapons variety is amazing, but the replay value is just not high enough on this game.

honestly, i've played this game 3 times and beaten all the badges 3 times. and i've yet to recieve any of them. that's ridiculous.

nerdook, love the game. The comic style art direction is spot on and conveys the mood of the game perfectly. The comical choice of weapons is really a stroke of genius. I wish more games had that. If you make a 2.0 version of this I suggest adding a variety of enemies. Some suggestions: zombie that has a ranged attack (without this turning into a bullet hell), a zombie that is very slow until it gets within a certain distance then bum-rushes you, a zombie that jumps down from above/climbs up quickly that looks EXACTLY like the normal zombies (keep people on their toes), slow moving zombies that grab onto your legs and slow you down doing minor damage over time, and a zombie that suddenly restricts the character's sight. Great game.
If you like this suggestion, please bump it!

I was so close! I only had four more places to check, and then I ran out of time! Oh well. This is a great game, I'll probably play it over and over again, since the maps change each time.

I found her in the first place I checked, it made your game feel like it was only intended to be played for 5 minutes :/

Y'know, I don't know if I've commented on this or not, but when fighting the outlaws, sometimes the game treats them as a survivor, or maybe the hostile script forgets to activate. Anyway, they don't attack you with this glitch active, and even join you when you move to the next area as an actual survivor. You still get the bounty from killing them the previous screen, though.
Really fun game still.
