Not sure what all of the hate is about. Personally, love the game. Always have loved the bloon games. Good sequel to the first game. Could slow it down a bit, and yes, there is too much grinding.

So research doesn't carry across visits. Gotta redo it each visit. Upgrades save, but it seems you have to redo it each visit. I've got the 5th spike arm upgrade, but can't purchase the last upgrade as the only one available is the 2nd spike. I have to completely repurchase the entire tech tree.
At some point it goes from being a grind to a money grab. Sadly the current repurchase everything ever purchased completely destroys any replayability in the game. At least one of the single level upgrades does not work as advertised.

come on a bronze trophy on the last level gives 10$? At least make the trophies scale in reward throughout the game. 10$ late game is a drop in the seemingly bottomless bucket of grind fest...

Beat game in a couple of days with left hand glaive, right hand missles and body lasers. All on tier 6, with relevant research upgrades to about 7 or 8. No need for the super-expensive powers. The final boss is relatively easy (level 15 boss is more annoying with those black balls that push you around) once you've got decent weapons. Just stick in the centre bottom and stay there until he's dead. The blop magnet research is annoying, since it seems to push blops away beyond a certain distance.

This is one of the most mediocre, tedious, boring game ever. it takes forever to complete on kongregate. but on ninjakiwi, it takes half the time. it needs to give money quicker, ninjakiwi made backwards progress from the first one the made , there is just more upgrades and its harder to get money

I like how you can leave the monkey in the centre of the screen, go play some other (preferably less greedy) games, then come back every 15 minutes and get free badges.

How do I start a new game? I made some bad choices and, in this game, every blop makes difference! Can anyone help me? How do I erase my progress or start a new game?

Way to much grinding in this game to make it anything other than tedious. I mean I just beat the game and I maybe have half the stuff leveled. As it is pick a path to lvl and don't deviate much. What I think would help for this game you made these power-set badges for each lvl but getting them does nothing you should get rewarded for each first time you get one. Also the rewards for getting medal bonuses should increase with each of the 4 areas. Since it is relitivly easy to get diamond with a few upgrades in the first area but near impossible by the last. Also 25-100 extra blop cash means nothing to me by the last area when the final upgrades cost 15k-30k. I would love to see how all the different powers work at there maxes and try and get all the final badges and trophies using different combinations but that would take at least another month of the game playing itself and I don't have that kind of effort. So I hope you do something to change how the cost reward system.

I typed way to much so this will become 2 posts a positive and negative. ok after 13 days of randomly starting the game then wandering off while my Radar glaives and mega fruit kill most of the stuff on the screen so I can get money to lvl up stuff I have finally beat the final boss. Let me first say that the game is very pretty if you turn the full graphics on which start out off. The background is almost to distracting early on when you have to aim you weapons. To attempt to help others I beat the boss the first time with my build of Glaives in both hands, and mega fruit. powers were crouching monkey, MOAP, and Sidewinder Ace. The sidewinder requires you to research missiles which I used occasionally but gives super boss damage.

I'd love to see some kind of help screen or encyclopedia-like page to see what the strenghts/ weaknesses of my weapons. And a page to see what bloons slip in other bloons and what their weaknesses/strenghts are.

Yes, guys. I know there's too much grinding for that. I played this one on Ninjakiwi's site and had to suffer the same fate as yours just to get the "Flawless" achievement on Ninjakiwi. Go check out Bloons Monkey City in Ninjakiwi's website if you think NK has gone the wrong direction.

There was some grinding involved but mostly replaying different levels with different weapon combinations. And catching all those blobs...
Still only 3/5 because i have finished the game and only unlocked a small part of all the weapons

what sort of ape descended life form downrates a comment that someone likes monkeys? And why would they be oin this game

How to grind easier : do 3-5 until the third glass ring, quit the level, go back to 3-5 until that 3rd ring, rinse and repeat. You can get about 1200 blop cash per run.

It's pretty good. I could have seen it be good enough for 5/5 if it didn't have so many pay to win elements, and grinding that seems to be introduced solely to make us buy such stuff.
I can understand the need to monetize your game more. But the result is what it is. It's fun, but it could have been more.

Finally completed the game. Left arm was spikey shots. Core was Lightning ring. Right arm was double doom. I researched sharp darts, bloontonium darts, hot rangs, technological terrors, force field phasing, and bloop magnet. I bought one of each research when I could plus a couple more on magnet but did not do much other research until I had raised the arms/core to their top, then researched like heck. found the water worlds gave me the most return with my set up. Still a heck of a grind.

This game seemed like it would be great at first....soon after starting I wondered what I might be doing wrong so I went to look for tips in the comments...only to find all the top comments are about how this game is just designed terribly with overly expensive upgrades...

Remember what your parents said when you went to school dances? "I don't want you doing any of that grinding bullshit." Sage words.

Guys please vote this game down, maybe the creators will take notice and publish a better version if the rating hits the floor.

Why can't you use arrow keys???? I've played for 2 mins and I'm already bored. At least give a little action in the beginning to get us hooked.

Interesting, my bloops are now 'stuck' at 254. I verified this by playing a few levels and watching my current total near the end. Probably just as well as I was only still playing to see what each of the epics looked like.

just got the last badge, worlds 5-3, 5-4, and 5-5 are all great for grinding blops but oyu dont really need to grind for more blops afte getting the 30k lazer and 8k doom whips you and 12/12 focus beams can beat the game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
for those out there who still want to get the hard badge like i do heres some tips
start working on lazer technology immediately, then when you have the 5k~ priced lazer middle and arms you should be able to get to world 4-1, then you should farm level 4-1 with all its dna strands and keep working on lazer tech, and start buying focused beams research in the research tab to make lazers hit glass, it will seem like a waste but its neccisary to max this to 12/12, you will need to farm 4-1 probably 100+ times, but you can do like 5-10 runs at a time and take a break come back later or the next day and grind a little more
the next goal is the 30k mid lazer(best non special weapon lazer) and the doom whip for each hand(around 8k hand whips) and after you have those and 12/12 focused beam tech you can start progressing more into the game with all the glass baloon levels, where you want to get to world 5-3 which is where im currently at (with 1700+ blops per run my first try)
