OK this is just stupid. The Monkey God thing actually eats (sacrifices) OTHER MONKEY GODS!! How stupid is that? So you have to specifically NOT upgrade its range so you can space them out if you wanted multiples.

I bought the mage spireand activated it and yet all of my apprentices and their upgrades cost the same as if its deactivated. I've restarted the game several times and still've got nothing. That a bug or am I doing something wrong?

To get a fully upgraded temple you need to sacrifice 30k worth of bomb/mortars, 10k glue, 10k ice, 10k apprentice and 30k of others towers

If you believe you have a sound, self sufficient, defense grid you could try this to reduce lag: Don't look at the screen. Tab out, get the bloons out of sight so that the graphics don't have to render and it's pure number crunching going on. That should speed thngs up, and if you need to use powers to keep your defense up you can always just click back in briefly to see how things are going and unleash a horde of phoenix or a barrage of monkey pirate grappling hooks.

Very glad to see another in this series of games :) The only problem I have noticed, which was the same for previous games in the series, could you crank the music up? or the sound down? or better give us some volume control beyond on and off? I love the music it's really relaxing, totally combats the frustration when things go wrong :p but when the action hots up the sound completely drowns it out :(
