There isn't a "rule" about not using Kreds for upgrades. However, that was not the spirit nor the intent of Kreds when they were instated. Kongregate began as a free gaming site and the Kreds were purely to show appreciation to talented developers. Now it has morphed into something else. Something worse, in some peoples' opinions, mine included.

@DarkCornor: I think you unlock the "Apopalypse" mode at level 31, just as you unlock Sandbox mode on level 27

ummm.. i dont get it at rank 30 you get sun god for super monkey...and super monkey is like the best tower in game, so what do you get a 31?

Good Hint-With Super-monkeys If you DO-NOT speed it up they kill quicker (thats what i believe anyway.......If i'm wrong it just seems that way to me then...)

You do NOT need to pay kreds for almost ANYTHING!!! in this game.
The only things you will NOT be able to do without kreds is play the exclusive tracks, or buy the bonus upgrades for the towers. YOU UNLOCK EVERYTHING ELSE.

Great game, all the fun of the original remains and the level-up system is a good addition. I was initially a bit annoyed with the requirement of Kreds to buy the extras, but really, they don't add to the game anyway...unless you enjoy cheating. 5/5 and I'm considering faving too.

This is disgusting. You can only reach parts of the game by buying it. Damn! This is a free game site! Kreds meant to give us a way to support the developers, not to buy games.

There's a memory leak in this game. The longer you play, the worse your computer runs, even if there's nothing on screen. You should probably fix that before demanding money.

It's because in the original one you needed some type of money thing to instantly level up, but since the levels stay with you even if you restart the game, after a while its useless

MOAB maulers r good until wave 104... for the beginner's track.... so be sure when your going to wave 104 sell all of your stuff and get sun gods ;) gotten to wave 104 without any super monkeys

my god are you all complete retards? you dont HAVE to buy anything! i think it was about time for the makers of btf to start charging a little for all the EXTRA features you dont really NEED.
also this is the first in the series where you actuall have to be good at the frickin game to earn more options, so its more challenging, and thats totally awesome!
but people who cant do it wont like that, for sure.
i playe btf 1 and i loved it. 2, loved it too, 3 loved it even more becasue of the upgrades and i definitely love this one the most, because the graphics are awesome, its challenging, incredible amount of options and upgrades...
5/5 for meh.

some ppl might find this optional payment thing complicated, so i am gonna say it very simple... you are angry on this game becouse you cant have all the extras for free. so if you got them you would be happy right? i dont think so. ppl would start saying that the game was WAY to easy with those extras and rate it 1/5

fix aiming system for supermonkys. if following a bowed path it misses with 1/2 of the darts. expecelly the yellow and faster ones.

Alsoa, you're an idiot. Yes, it's a free gaming site, but they've had the Kreds system for a long time now, and it's pretty obvious that the main function of such online currency is for unlockable content. Plus, given that running a site isn't free and a lot of people are starting to use ad blockers on their browsers, they need a reliable source of revenue. Now stop being a whiny bitch and deal with it.

Ya know whats annoying. This would probably be the highest rated game on kon if the dev just decided to not include the option of paying for things and instead just left us with all the unpaid content. Then people wouldnt know the difference and give the game a good rating. I bet it would easily have a 4,5/5 or higher. It alread has a 4.35 with all the morons giving it a 1 because of the optional features that dont nearly make the game.

Retsudrats, Kongregate is supposed to host games as a FREE gaming site. This is NOT a pay site. In this game there are options you can only have if you pay, THUS gameplay is different if you can not afford to buy Kreds, you RETARD.

GLITCH: if you hold the speed up your ace will shoot faster but will not fly faster

Im sorry I cant stop my self from having to say something. I really cant, cause people are just to retarded. ITS AN OPTION! Giving people options are good. Kongregate isnt making you pay for things as Cellarc stated, they are giving you the option to make the game easier. THE GAME IS NO DIFFERENT IF THE OPTION IS THERE OR NOT! Your only complaining about it cause you cant afford to pay for it. Thats the only reason, this game is absolutly no different without the options.

He figured he would be nice and give you the option to use your already funded account to make it easier. YOU DONT REALLY PAY JUST FOR THIS! You fund your account then spend the funds on games. Just like bigger companies like Nexon, Ijji, ntreev and so many more. THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING! They give you free content with the option to pay for better things or to make the game easier. If you play runescape, maplestory and you pay for special items, then you have no room to talk. Cause its the samething for this. So shut up and learn how to flame correctly.
