This is a very nice game. Takes practice to start, but isn't too hard. I love the Variety of weapons and the changing enemies and how you can upgrade your weapons. Awsome game!

so, for those talking about the randomness and difficulty of this game... I thought I might provide some insight. This game carries the name of a roguelike, and though I have never played this particular roguelike, I defiantly feel the shooter carries some core concepts over from the genre. Roguelike games are rather famous for their brutal RNGs and the steep learning curve, as well as being absolutely horid to get a character off the ground. This game has all those elements in spades, it really feels like it is designed to be played in "hardcore" mode, as this is often also the save method used in roguelikes. It carries the experience very well, and for fans of the genre, it is a solid game. Obviously, this type of game does not have mass appeal though, so if you don't want to get it in the rear on occasion when you thought you were doing so well, look elsewhere.

I h8 the randomness..on lvl 12 it was 2 rounds all mice + 1 boss the it turned dflys barbs n exploders! i thought i was gonna have a easy time

I'm sort of dissapointed by the fact that every time I've tried to play this, somewhere around day six, I go into a level and no enemies spawn. The level never ends. Nothing happens. Doubly dissapointed in that if I don't get a badge for THIS game, I can't participate in the mass effect 2 metagame. Sloppy choice by Kongregate.

@Geradin -- the guns in themselves have inherent accuracy. If you're using a gun that's low on it, no matter how you aim, the headshots are going to be off. @Irasfel - the randomness of elona shooter is a core part of the game design. The author more or less said it blatantly...it's hard like elona itself is hard. So even though I haven't gotten the impossible badge myself, I still love the game.

Regardless - done talking - fanboi "It's shiny there's NOTHING WRONG WITH IT IT'S AWESOME SHUTUP!" mentality has passed it's expiration date. Was hoping that perhaps the author might see something and consider improving this into a real classic. Hell I'd have paid money for it if the infrastructure weren't so screwy and randomtacular. BUT they went with shiny and complicated and nothing but random holding it up instead. Shrug. So it goes. Have fun y'all - as will I. I still don't hate it - even as it is. But I still wish the flaws could be ironed out. To make it clear - no further replies will be forthcoming on the issue from me - so further "You're wrong!" would be pretty pointless.

If NOTHING else, a very simple change for this that would help the problems SOME, and not change gameplay for anyone. Allow multiple saves for the same character. Keep the same amount of save slots there are currently in the game, but let people use them with whatever chars they want. I.e. you could have 6 different saved characters, 2 characters with 3 games at different points saved, whatnot. At LEAST it would let you go back if you made some sort of critical mistake that isn't apparent for a while. And oh yes those mistakes do exist. It would be a bandaid - but at least it would be better than nothing.

Everyone a moron? Chip on your shoulder much? No - but I DID pretty much call someone that said every gun has a use a moron. Cause.. yeah. And as I've said before I'm not someone that played 10 days and said screw it. I'm up to about day 100, 1 medal from the 25 badge. So no I am not "getting owned by birds." I'm getting owned by the whole "Oh wait u didn't buy ur chickens at the right time, oh wait u didn't get leech mod drops for new guns for 30 %@#^ing rounds guess u lose faggort!" random bull@%$*" factor in this game. As I've said - repeatedly.

Geradin the headshots and stuff are just a slight bit lower (like a pixel or two) and some guns dont hit the same place in the aim cursor they spread.

What if instead of purchasing extra party members, this was a multiplayer game? and after each round each player had 1minute 30 seconds to do what they needed. Just a thought!

The game is to god damn hard and the head-shots are off. Yes I can aim, quite well, but at least 60% of my head shots or "body shots" don't register.

Irisfel, it didnt baffel me but you used 2 whole comment boxes to basically call everyone a moron. and yes those guns arnt the best at the start but they have thier uses (owned the boss day with the heavy machine gun) and the bow is decent with headshots and air units.and if your getting owned by birds...try actually learning to aim. or you could set one of your teammates to fire at them :P

Stupidtechy - Critical Kill is a kill by "Sense" skill. It gives you a % chance to score a one-hit-kill even if you didnt hit the weak spot. For Chickens Weak Spot is right under its head to the right of its wings. For them its better to use bowgun.

Galadorian, this is a great game.. ^^ it takes time but it's fun~ if something can be easily achieve by everyone, then that is not going to make you outstanding~

The main thing you need to survive is a rapid fire and accurate gun (MG or MP) with a Leech lvl 3 mod (generally avaliable after day 40). It will repair castle faster than enemy can damage it.
Or Gravity Gun with leech - one shot in the right direction completely repairs castle.
When you have it surviving hardcore becomes easy.

this is hands down the worst game I have ever seen - my friends here agree - I pale to think of the poor guy who actually sat through this game long enough to put achievements
in it or else he got just a fed up as we did and just made whatever and called it good

Heh - Daktoria's comment pretty much says it all without even using the word walls that I can't help but rant in. Birds of random number generation FTL - albeit I am not sure that the designer was clueless as far as math or logic. I suspect they just liked things this way, personally. Unfortunately in the end it detracts "/

You find direct statements and a couple paragraphs baffling? And I suppose you're claiming you have a use for the heavy machine gun? How about the longbow? Use that a lot? Horse@$*^. No one's baffling anyone here unless you choose to take that tack to defend the messed up aspects of this game ;p
