Earthbound, the game is very difficult at first. Try to get as many medals as you can, expecially those that give ap bonus. With time, the game will became easier. Unlock the noble and give him a bowgun, he's a real monster with his damage and accuracy bonus.

This game is way too difficult for me.
If I play as Sheriff or Hunter, I can get to like day 12, but then too little money to upgrade and go on.
If I play as Rogue, I can't even pass day 7.
Is there something I am missing?

@kalalas were u in rampage? reload is faster when you're rampaging. @OMGWTF saving the game doesnt make it not hardcore... u restarted for nothing. You can save your hardcore as much as u want, it just gets deleted whenever you start a round.

if you want to be rich, try a rogue in the party. I'm at day 212, harcore mode, with taunt i can obtain 20000 coin a day, without consider eggs and robbery. Rogue isn't a very good fighter, but give him a laser gun and he'll be of some help.

@Thyraxus: Go to the second page of the Tower upgrades. Buy lots of chickens on round 2-3, and pick up eggs every round. Also, buy Museum level 1 asap, and purchase further levels. You can always go to the museum and for 2AP, shoot people! Finally, watch your outgoings - most investments on page 1 of the Tower upgrades cost you maintenance every turn.

Also is there any way to make it so the save button doesn't work when I'm on hardcore mode?
Twice now I've accidentally saved my hardcore game out of habit, resulting in it becoming not hardcore anymore, and making me have to repeat the entire game over again for it be hardcore again... extremely annoying.

Now at 60 HC. This is taking forever
Well, now, at least, I can remove Hero Mode and let the game play itself, I guess... Though I still need to find a level 51 Rifle XD (my weapon is 21)

Man i have every badge except for 2 of them and I still can't get to day 100 on hardcore.. after day 42 it gets crazy.. best so far is day 56 :( i'm a hunter with guardian/militia/ranger.. help!!

Try buying as many chickens as you can early on (there's a second page of tower upgrades, if you didn't notice! [I didn't notice until near the end of my first game]). The earlier you manage to get them, the sooner they pay themselves off and the more you end up making off of them.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but how do you get the cash to build up the house to have 3 troopers *and* buy all those weapons and upgrades to equip them (and yourself)? The only way I seemed to get decent amounts of money was with the rogue, high "Luck" skill and lots of critical hits...

just get a bowgun with as many slots as you can find and put one auto fire mod and as many fire rate as you can.
things that help: a noble or hunter as you (piercing is mandatory), a guy with enginer on your team, taunting a lot, getting as many medals as you can, impact mod, perfect games, etc
to start you can use a rifle till day 10 or so then you switch to the bowgun and upgrade it.

@Thyra the problem is that you have only 2 guys instead of 3. You should get all 3 ASAP, and definitely before wave 20. Use your retries to get the good weapons... Get a Revolver for yourself, and your teamates should use one or more of the following: Autoshotgun/Laser Pistol/Gravity Gun. But there are other decent ones too like grenade launcher. And if you can't get any of those weapons, get an Anti Armor mod and/or a leech mod on day 4 (Mod Day!) (Make sure your shop is decent sized otherwise u're in for a lot of retries)

and unless you want survival badges, just carry over, and keep saving before you go into the battle. with carry over you can get most of the badges. id aim to get all badges except survival first then do survival

Can someone please give me a strategy how to get to the later stages of this game? The best attempt I've managed so far, after many, many retries, was Day 25. I don't think I'm a bad shot, in fact that most successful run was with a rogue who was a real cash machine because I can land head shots on most enemies rather consistently, but the enemies ramp up in toughness faster than I can build my ability to dish out the damage. I have two guys beside me, but now there's fricking TANKS coming at me and with hunting rifles, SMGs and shotguns I just don't stand a chance - the game either does not give me better guns, or in the rare instance that it comes up with something big it has such rediculous skill requirements that none of my guys can use it...
...and I'm playing the bloody CASUAL mode - I'm getting the feeling that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, but for the life of me I just can't figure out what! So how do you do it?

maybe a stupid question but im trying to get some badges like provoker. Do you have to pray 10 times in 1 single game? or van it be 8 in a game and start a new game and pray twice? so 8+2= 10?

@Riba i think its the Defend button that makes the girl attack the eagles/flies. And Armored mobs are just 3: Ballista/Tank/Crusader(The guy with the helmet and red cape).

What is the difference between levels of AutoReload MOD?
How many waves are in a day?
Armored mobs are those who wear armor (like archers, barbarians, bosses) or those who have a shield or what else?
And why does Little Girl attack eagles and flys if I ordered +don't attack air mobs?

I don't think fame has anything to do with claiming titles, unless there's some other way of obtaining it rather than through searching the town.
You get new titles simply based on the level, I believe.

aurium: the monster waves are random. the only thing set is what types of monsters cannot appear on certain days, and that only applies for earlier days (like, no dragons/tanks on day 1 to 10). Later days you can get any type of monster wave, completely by chance. and yes Monsters do run faster as the days go by.. eventually they get pretty much impossible to stop from what i hear. i'm only at day 300ish though, and they are still managable.

@Dorftang: Fame enables you to claim titles. These earn you automatic money each round. It seems to cap @3000 per round - important income as your castle taxes go up each level....

@Cresthawk: The problem with having more than one of the same type of person, is that they tend to get the same party skills. I reckon self as Noble is best because you build up XP fastest and also get a level-related increase to your damage, but spread the helpers through other types. Rogue is good, because they have most earning power, but you cant give them GGs, so it does restrict what your other 2 helpers are.

@Aurium: Yes, the monsters run faster at L41, then L81, 121, 161 etc. However, there are fewer monsters at L41 than there were at L40, and only the more basic ones - essentially the game recycles every 40 levels. PS I'm L368, only one gravity gun :-) Tho sometimes I wish I had a second! I reckon the ideal setup probably yourself with bowgun, 2 henchmen with GG and one with repeater shotgun for the bombers and flying stuff.

with 3 gravity gunner at your side you'll never give any xp :) I had 2, but swapped the grav gun mk52 (big gun 141) to a chain gun mk52. Faaar enough, I score perfets on day 430+

By the way; this is team: Hero: Noble (rifle+big gun+ cook+ accountant) helper: Sheriff (auto shotgun (4 mod slot) +dr holliday skill and leadership) helper: Ranger (gravity gun (2 slot)+ breeder!!!+ active+ scavenger) helper: Guardian (dont need gun :D she just standing there and giving me her love :P love+ suplly+ defender)

If the AI was a bit smarter this game would be much more fun. They are completely unreliable. Add an option for "fastest enemy" or "closest enemy", not that stupid "in weapon range". They take forever to aim and longer to fire. Everything else would be fine, but the allied AI breaks the game.

Just rmbered. There is a ragnarok like wave in 50-70 (dun rmb exactly)... there is about 20 white dragons... better be ready

Any1 noticed that the monsters starts to run faster past lvl 40? Bombers at hardcore are crossing the screen in like 1sec... dun have time to shoot 2x with 300m reload (and about 40% less reload time)

Cheap... my way is cheap... More than that, i get a lot of exp from it. If u are not in hardcore, u might wanna try it out. U might get some itens, money and lvls and doesnt cost a grail (300gold when sold in shop and cannot be bought), just 2 or 4 granades (each set has at least 3... so... i think its cheap)

Btw... u might need at least 2 gravity guns by lvl 40+, since sometimes there are bomber waves (a wall with about 10 ou 12 bombers, same as ragnarok, but 2x more power and 1/2 the time to kill). Try knocking back ranged units and flying units until the gravy shot comes (simple with shotgun, sheriff and cripple shot). Maybe even take out some dragons, bombers, crow and dragonflies... Wont need more than 1 (2 in case of a white or red dragon)

Easiest and cheapest way to survive ragnarok: Have 1 grail, wait until the last wave is almost over, use sword, wait until right before the blast to use grail, round ends.

To kill all dragons from ragnarok, i got a shotgun (think it was about mk-8 by then) and 2 sets of granades.
Some sis flew... wall of sis + granades + 9 x mk-10dmg.... even got perfect in that game (lucky i guess...)
Doubt i cant make more dmg than this...focused 9 shots (4 + 5 from Dr Holliday) in 1 monster. Even tough i might miss 5 shots, another 4 will hit... pretty simple to even hit a dragonfly (dun even aim properly)
Getting to hardcore 100 now... about the 90th day
Build is simple... Sheriff (u got high knock back = push monsters back to have time to reload M shotgun) and 3 other with GG and lots of party skills, mainly focusing in money making.
Dun even lose life, since i got 80% dmg bonus and leech in some weapons.
