anyone know if the taunt skill still only adds hp once to enemies? I've only been playing HC and I'm afraid to test to see.

Just to say Elona (not this one, the roguelike prequel) was mentioned on Chronicart.com (a great french magazine) recently, in an article about Dungeon Crawl StoneSoup.

The strategy I found works best is to upgrade the villa and throw parties every turn... you can get up to double damage which makes a HUGE difference after level 40.

You can only claim title when your fame is high enough I think. So basically, when you can, do and when not don't panic.

For anybody that is having trouble with this fun but hard, really hard shooter, please browse the forum for the many strategy or guide threads.
Believe me, it is hard but truly rewarding when you finally tame the beast.

omg...
just got a 6 mod gravity gun... but its for level 16... i will need to spend soooo much money on it until it gets nice atack power...anyway i will try 3 level 3 damage, 1 level 3 armor, 1 level 3 air and 1 level 3 impact to see if it will rule the game =)

every day you start with 4 ap.
If you have active maxed, you have a chance of getting 0 to 10 more ap.
If you have the right medals, you have a chance of getting 0 to 3 more ap. So the most ap you can start a day with is 17. That said, the go searching thing sometimes gives more AP, so you could very well go over 20 ap.. although why you would need so much ap is beyond me, especially now that taunt seems to be fixed so if you taunt too many times u get screweddd.

Dz Nuts: I have a lvl 20 gravity gun (base dmg 420, WOOT!), haven't seen anything over 20 in any of the classes yet, but i haven't had the money yet to try and reforge my Grav Gun lvl 20.

Got the impossible badge using a rogue with a revolver as the main char., ranger and militia with grav guns, and a sheriff with auto shotgun. WOOT!!

Ha HA I got that stupid sword Ragnorak at level 5 so I thought i would give it a go... lol I got smashed hardcore in about 2 seconds

If you play a ranger, you MUST spend the first 10~ levels leveling accuracy and reload, unless the RNG gods give you a HMG with reload/accuracy 3 mods. I tried playing rangers over and over while leveling other skills first and you will not get too far, especially hardcore if you do not. Using a small gun only gets you so far.

If you have Active attribute on multiple characters, does the effect stack? Is it possible to get a (theoretical) bonus of >20 AP after a battle?

@Ceru You should have realised that when he said "rogue-like", the maker's standards of normal difficulty level are a bit skewed. That said.. I can only agree for Ranger. Why you're having trouble on sheriff and militia is beyond me. And Shotgun is an awesome weapon, just hold down your space bar. Finally.. as for the ranger.. I believe the difficulty is appropriate because Ranger later in the game gets insane if it's the hero. It pretty much lets you put EVERYONE IN PERMANENT RAMPAGE mode.

@cerl what sheriff is one of the easiest classes to play shotgun let y get perfect games much easier. Rifle of miltia is easy to great accuracy at range. The only hard starting class is ranger cause of how much the shot spread under continuos fire.

After trying to play as Ranger, Sheriff, and Militia I've come to realize that almost no playtesting went into this game. I can't, in good conscious, keep a 4/5 score on it. Sorry, as well done as it is, it's too deeply flawed. Did the dev even try to play using a shotgun or HMG to start with and nothing else? I have serious doubts, 'cause it's not what I'd call "fun", not even in a "challenging fun" kind of way, just pure frustration. 2/5.
