@PossibleCabbage Revolver has 2 advantages over bowgun: 1) More accuracy assuming u have lots of cool, in that u just point and it hits, rather than having to wait for the arrow to fly across. This also means you can hit just the parachute rats without hitting the storks. Advantage 2: You get to use it on Duelist, which gets WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more damage bonus than noble. While noble's damage bonus is like level - a few % later on, duelist damage bonus is level + 50% and then + some more later on. But yes, bowgun has advantages in being able to hit more monsters at once, and not having to get the Cool skill. Ps. Revolver never has to "aim or reload" either in the sense that u can just hold down space bar and it doesn't slow down your fire rate at all. Just attach auto fire like u did on bowgun and wave it around, almost anything u touch (EVEN BOSSES) will die in one hit later on if u're playing your duelist right.

I agree with JuniorX, the game refuses to load for me also. I just get a black screen even after Firefox says the page is done loading.

tombolo, to survive ragnarok you will need the grail which makes you invincible. use the grail just as they are about to fire. this makes it possible, but it still will be hard early in the game

For example, my new noble who just finished day 82, deals 498 damage with a non-critical hit to a normal opponent (more to air and armor), fires 3.6 shots per second, penetrates up to 10 times, and hits large opponents multiple times all while never having to aim or reload. I don't think the revolver can touch that.

@ kingedwardave, I've tried both the bowgun setup and the revolver setup, and I have to say that I prefer the bowgun setup when it comes to "what's easy mode". For the simple reason that with a rapid bowgun, or a regular bowgun with an auto-fire mod you don't really even have to aim; you just hold down the button and drag the mouse back and forth across the field of play and everything dies. It's a little more dependent on luck, and a little dicier in the early game (say, up until day 40 or so), but with a good bowgun you feel like you can go forever.

Ragnarok is evil... The fact that you can obtain a mysterious item with no hints as to what it does that kills you right out... That's just cruel! I expected it to boardwipe the enemies...

@Tombolo You have to survive Ragnarok in order to obtain the medal. The sword is a rare drop so keep playing and it'll pop up again.

Its a skill where with a sniper or pistol, the last shot in the magazine does 370% damage. :D

Hm, is there a good guide for this or anything? I love this game and have been playing for hours, but even with casual, laptop difficulty, skip hard waves, and the smattering of medals I've gotten, I've only made it past day 10 once. Also, how exactly does the Ragnarok sword and medal work? I found two in one game, but killed myself using one and didn't get a medal. <

my personal experience: I didn't have any hardcore badges so I was trying the bowing setup to get some.However, I found that depends on a lot of luck: whether you can find the teammates or the weapon. But with revolver, my first try is level 100+ because I don't need any teammate or special weapon early on, I even let my little girl attack air only.
My second try is with a duelist. It is even better, because I found that I can have max damage if I keep shooting the corp.

@Toryama, I am not saying (rapid)bow gun sucks. Revolver is just far too superior to any kind of bows. If people want to go pass level 100 in hardcore mode, trying a revolver (make sure space bar is pressed so you get unlimited ammo)is the fastest way.

hey peeps i had an idea if any want wants to use it: get a rapied gun like a mechine gun then use the skill doctor holladay on it and then your shooting atlest 2 bullets on the first lvl of the skill and your shooing them fast i dont know if it will work but u can try it if u want peace

Here is a good trick for those searching for stuff in the shop, his restock, again if you dont find your item, if you still dont get it, go back to the menu screen, load up and try again, diff things appear every time you do that.

I wish I could get medals in carry over mode. Without fiddling with the save file, there is no way getting them all, not dying once.

If you read the statues...:
The animals are being scared to your castle by other monsters.
The dragonflies are attacking because they like your little sister (that girl on the tower)
The crows are attacking because they want to eat the dragonflies in your castle
The "real" enemies would be the barbarians, tanks, ballistas, ogres, dragons, archers, and suicide bombers (exploders), which is a pretty standard mix of enemies if u ask me.

@Someguy you should probably replace the Sniper revolvers with regular revolvers or laser pistols. Both have higher Damage Per Second in my experience.

bowguns are pretty good but have a full team of 10+ guys with Revolver w/ snipe attachment, Mk3 HMG, and an M4 and a sniper rifle does just fine :)

A bowgun with a lot of mod slots is actually generally more effective than a rapid bowgun. If you can get one with 5-6 slots and put fire rate lvl 3, auto fire lvl 3, dmg lvl 3 and whatever else you want, you have a fearsome weapon.

@kingedwardave You don't necessarily have to use a rapid bow gun. Even a high leveled bow gun with just 2 slots can get you very far with leech and either damage or anti-armor.
@kaiji I don't bother re-rolling at all. I did find out how where the save slots are stored, so I back up my games now. It's not enjoyable having hardcore games deleted every new level especially when I'm trying new combos and have all badges already.

Wow.... I got Unseen Hands on wave 9
Used the Noble modified submachine gun, and just headshotted each rat/sheep thing. Also I think I had the "Harder enemies in the beginning" mod on.

after i thought about it, how long have i been doing these re-rolling, the dinner, the weapons, eggs, sometimes searching. all the insane randomness is too much grinding. i wonder how much proportion of gameplay is in town compare to actually defending the field for most people

the problem with bowgun in hardcore is you might die due to lack of luck. Revolver eliminate the luck factor: as long as you can get one revolver, and work out the building order, you can pretty much go pass level 100 in hardcore.

the randomness aspect is really get onto my nerve.. if you really want high slot high damage gear this game really want u to refresh like crazy. and thats just cheap and wrong to add up all the gameplay stat

@warathor Currently, bow guns are probably the best weapon. No reloading, 10 bolt penetrations, good against air and armor, and the classes that can use it either have crippling shot, or extra damage and accuracy. Sniper rifles can do 9,999,999 with one hit one kill, but that's kind of cheating. As a side note, duelist is probably the best class currently for priority targets. My duelist on day 100+ on hardcore with full adrenaline can hit for 3k per bullet with just his revolver.

For crowd control an upgraded bowgun is imba. with 10 penetrations you basically get 10-in-1 shots, put an armor mod, fire rate and autofire on it and you got a veritable cutter.

Hahaha, best game of its style so far, although its much easier to play with rapid firing weapons and go for criticals. Or using a bowgun.
