There is hard and challenging and then there is broken and frustrating, the game sadly fall sinto the second category due to after level 13, you just get overwhelmed, your weapons just can't keep up even if you didn't make a single mistake the whole game.
Too much randomness, too high of prices and not enough ammo and accuracy in firearms.

Got to day 12 as a Rogue. I figured casual mode would let me see more of the game. CASUAL MODE IS HARDER. It's taken me more time to get to day 8 on casual. WTF

I just lost THREE f*cking times to the SAME wave. I CANNOT get past this, because you have : 10 dragonflies, 10 rats, 2 catapults and a f*cking boss.
REALLY?
How dare you insult us? This was CASUAL dude, CASUAL! That in itself is an insult, but WHAT DID CASUAL MODE DO? NOTHING!
I'm in bloody CEVO on TF 2, my aiming is flawless - I'm a freaking sniper. FIX THIS. NOW.

Casual is a f*cking insult.
Not only that, I -STILL- lost when the damn catapults showed up, because - sURPRISE SURPRISE - I still only had the very first pistol because NOTHING good dropped or appeared in the bloody shop! (Even then I was busy fortifying my castle, PLUS my weapon skills don't really develop either).
1)Rename "Casual" mode - this game is punishingly random. No skill necessary. NONE. Just PURE LUCK.
2)Fix the bloody shop! FIX IT NAO!

People should check out the actual roguelike game "Elona" as advertised on the splash screen. It's a great (and hard) game for serious RPG lovers.

The difficulty definitely needs to be toned down: more weapons at your disposal, or simply just more effective and accurate weapons, would definitely improve it. As it is, the concept is still very fun, but the game isn't playable.

questioner I would have to completely disagree. Almost every post has made a very accurate and valid point. Once you get to wave 15 you'll see what people mean...Once you're getting 50 gold and have to hire help just to even get close to completing a level, despite the fact that you've played the game flawlessly up till that point, you'll understand.

On Day 12 with my hunter. A great game. People just don't have the patience or time to play a game out - they just want a quick high where they can powerlvl and win quickly.

>> The cursor will be brighter at night.
already changed or not?
still difficult to see, i would prefer using the NPC's cursor brightness level...

After playing this game extensively and getting all chars to at least level 15 I find that all the weapons pretty much get worse throughout the game except maybe the crossbows. They all have way too much spread like the shotguns or don't have a quick enough reload/not enough ammo like the higher level small guns. I think the main issue is that even at a good range with the best aim the weapons are still a bit inaccurate. I've gone through entire levels with 100% head shots moving as fast as possible and still lost simply because of the lack of ammo in the small guns. Similarly, I've gone through entire levels taking aimed careful shots with the shotgun and having to shoot at a guy 4 times before even getting a hit when he was close and I was taking my time. This game has a GREAT base but needs some serious tuning.

Really nice presentation and concept, but as it's been said, the game is simply unbalanced. There is too much randomness in upgrading weapons and earning money. At a certain point, if you don't have good weapons then that's it. You are done. Too many enemies flood the screen at once. It wouldn't be a problem if the smith wasn't so random and if better weapons were easier to come by. The accuracy and recoil on the rapid-fire guns is also horrific and reload times are punishing at best.

Hard is good, but there are times when you simply cannot beat the wave you're on, even if you've done absolutely everything absolutely right up till that point in the game. Hard is good. Broken is bad.

The spread higher lvl shotguns is a bit over the top...When not a single shot lands within the ridicule 9/10 times in the best conditions there is an issue.

To the author: Put the tabs on the left! It took me forever to understand the mention of them, I thought it meant the icons on the left, rather than the tabs on the right.

Auowl... What are you talking about? This game is quite fun, but the difficulty curve is a tad over the top. I'd be happy if carrying over didn't make achievements not work, since it seems like the only way to keep from going insane trying to repeat one failure with the same conditions while hoping for a change.

If you're complaining that it's too hard, you're either using shotguns or putting too much money into your castle. Noa really needs to tone down the upkeep cost, because as it stands, the only things worth buying at the castle are the house and a few extra storage slots. Everything else just drains your money too fast for too little gain.

played for like 3 hours at day 40, and just now realizing there's a page 2 of the tower upgrades.. this should make it easier >_>

hmmm... I have a problem...whenever I start, no matter what class, two error messages pop up, the character dissapears, and nothing works...

Games to complicated and for some reason trying to kill things with half the guns is a pain in the ass, i've gone through like 10 lvls with lvl 10 shotgun and not one shotguns dropped or been in the shop yet.... it could use alot of work
