Here's a trick to make bowguns shoot faster early game: Have another weapon with really high fire rate like a chain gun or machine gun in your inventory. Make sure you can select that weapon using the shortcut keys. After you fire the bowgun, quickly switch to the fast weapon then back to the bowgun. This will cancel the firing lag of the bowgun. How much lag is cancelled is based on the fire rate of the other weapon; you can actually make the bowgun shoot faster by adding fire rate mods to the dummy weapon. This works for other weapons too, but the reloading of the main weapon makes a difference. Bowguns don't reload, so... ^^

Ok, i quit. I'm sorry, I think its kinda stupid to delete the savefile on hardcore. And it makes me frustrated, not because I can't pull it off, I had it easy going to lvl 70 and would've reached 100 easily (had managed to get my bow gun with 2 Autofire lvl 3 mods, a rapid fire lvl3 and a leech mod lvl 3) but right after starting Day 71 my Java crashed. This is obviously not the fault of the game that my Java application sucks, but I'm not willing to play to day 70 all over again, it takes hours.
So yeah, love the game, hope there will be a second someday, and If there will be, that it find's another way to restrict the hardcore player from restarting. Maybe setting you 5 days backwards after loosing/crashing/exiting or something like that.

Get yourself a bowgun with at least 4 Mod-Slots (3 will also do, but 4-6 would be better). Try to get Auto-Fire lvl 3, Fire Rate lvl 3, Leech(!) lvl 3 and (with 4 slots) Damage lvl 3 or 2. Damage mod should be the last one you put in, as it is the least important and therefore it isn't too hurtful to upgrade your weapon and loose this mod. Try to upgrade only if you REALLY need the extra fire-power. Also note that with the auto-fire mod with rapid fire mod, the bowgun outclasses the rapid bowgun. I talk Hardcore btw. I did this with Noble on Hardcore, as Noble gets damage+ every lvl AND lvls up faster. Also Noble can get Bow mastery (penetration +) which is very important later on and will make dragons as well as tanks an easy task. The Hunter (with which I did Casual to day 150) can also get Bow mastery but doesn't get damage and experience+. But the Hunter has his own nice skill to use with the modified bowgun: cripple shot (slows enemies) which is also VERY useful. Hope this helps

Hey, for anyone who's concerned, Hardcore Mode just means you can't quit and pick up where you left off. All your medals and their various stat mods still carry over and effect the game.

Those of you who are having trouble getting the "Random Number Disintegrator" badge should open 2 tabs of Elona shooter, and have one wait on the town screen, while the other you play normally, making sure you quit and reload your inactive town page every time you complete a level and then save your active game. Load the game again so that both are on the same level. If you fail, just quit the Active tab, do a save game on the inactive tab, then load the active tab and try again until you get to 100 :)

Been playing this game for years. Got the impossible badge back in September 2012, and still play it just because I love the game. Easily my favorite game on Kong. Still waiting on that sequel, though...

every time i select "go searching" it gives me something bad...so far it has been like this each time: fruitless>found nothing>trouble and thats it

If you tried this game and liked it, you should download the actual roguelike. It's hard as hell but it's really addicting.

Finally survived Ragnarok all it took was 5 level 4 grenades, 2 grails, 2 alleys with laser pistols sporting level 3 damage mods, a third with a shotgun and maxed Dr. holliday skill, myself with a mk-3 bowgun using a level 2 rapid fire mod and a party the night before just for the damage bonus… scored a perfect game. =)
