The world-map tooltip for blacksmith wasn't updated with blacksmith update. It still says that blacksmiths can upgrade items up to world level + 1

I've finished the game with more than half the characters. Some suggestions: Toad's ability could do with a small buff. Make it only cost 8 energy instead or something. Toad's basic loadout is already underwhelming and the lack of a relevant ability cuts even more. Bard could do with a defensive ability or a weak secondary attack like Toad's Dagger. I only play Bard when I get the Unprepared Mod because the Snake is too expensive to use. Shank of Hearts and other 2+ Straight Flush weapons should get a bonus that scales with the number of cards used. Block mastery artefacts shouldn't exist on maps with the Sustained Block mod. I think Guilds having 3 choices would be nicer so players get to experience more. It would also be more enjoyable for the first Church/Temple to have multiple choices - you can only pick 1 and can't desecrate the others.

@zharl before the changing of temple was free. I didn't once abandon my faith, not doing that for getting 10 chips either. Desecrating is just so much better independently of which temple/church you've started with.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think bard needs a survivability buff; it seems to be the only hero that starts without ANY way of mitigating damage. The others have either block, or some way to affect enemy cards with their skills or starting equipment.

I do think that the shiny dagger of poison should upgrade to be able to be used more per turn instead of more cards at a time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can't believe I'm saying this, but the temple enhancement process is too forgiving. You pay 5 chips to gain an enhancement. When you get to a new temple or church, they'll pay you 10 to abandon it (essentially making 5 chips). Or you can desecrate the alter, and improve your enhancement or just leave. I feel fine with the improvement aspect (desecrating the alter), but I feel as though it's a little too forgiving to reward the player for changing their mind. I personally think you should have to PAY chips to remove an enhancement. This makes choosing a temple carry more weight and force the player to make a choice (do I take this enhancement or hold out in the hopes of finding a better one). Just some thoughts.

Amazing game and updates, thank you.
Your hold 'em logic is flawed. Board of 53777, opponents hand of j9 and my hand of A4, I lost. I should win this hand. Thank you again, you rock!

ALSO it'd be awesome if you could unlock the old art in the game (concept art or classic or something). Bit of nostalgia for the earlier players and a cool feature for the new players to unlock.
I don't know if we'll add it as a standard feature to the game (I'd rather work on more heroes, world locations, and mechanics) but it can definitely be done with a mod, when we release the full version.

Do you even release the memory from previous enemies and encounters? Do you even know what that is? This game has more of a memory leak than your mother on alzheimer

Someone mentioned the even and odd distribution and how it would make sense for J and K to be odd. I do think it's a bit odd that 8 of the 13 ranks are even (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, J, Q, K) while only 5 are odd (3, 5, 7, 9, A). I think one solution to even things up is to consider A as 1, in which case it is straightforward to consider it odd. Thus the split would be (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, Q) for 6 even ranks, and (A, 3, 5, 7, 9, J, K) for 7 odd ranks. To have an exact split, A could be considered both even and odd (as 1/11 and 14), just like it is considered both a high and low number.
While it would be fun to allow Aces to be both even and odd, there is another goal in mind, that is for evens/odds to be significantly different from the red/black distribution.

specifically, the "get a gem on a perfect kill" modifier wouldn't stack with the pick item that gives me 1chip on perfect kill. I would only get the 1 chip, not the gem.
Did you use the pick to get the kill? Because it does give it to you. It might not show it in the combat victory screen though - it happens immediately when you use the item so it's showing separately.

I like this game a lot but it's not an easy pickup concept. I'm playing it for a while now and it's quite challenging on easy level, not to mention greater difficulties.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Such a great concept. Usually I'm card games have the problem of being RNG factored, but this game beats just that. But the fact you lose basically all progress when you die should definitely be stated more clearly, although it might be obvious to some.
Personally I like games with safe'n'steady progression, so this game is not for me. Am going to give it 4/5 because it's such a great and unique concept that is most likely very enjoyable to others.

This is my favorite game on Kong. Maybe, in the same way you have an option for difficulty, you can also add an option for clean runs (where you don't get any perks which carry over between games, like how things are now) or progressive runs (where you can use perks which carry over between games and which you buy with exp). Something like that would satisfy everyone.

This game is awesome. A real ace in the hole, this one. At first I wasn't sure what this was and I was hesitant to try from the name (assumed it was one of those casino sim games), but so glad I did. Been playing it all week. Oh and if anyone has any tips for defeating the Kraken, it'd be much appreciated. It's wrecked me like 3 times now. Truly a final boss to be reckoned with.

Love it. Can't wait for it to be on Steam. You say you will update the art, to be honest, I like the art as it is. The only card mechanic I don't like is on some where they get 4 red cards and can permanently double the attack. Should change that to double the attack in the next round. If they don't attack the next round it goes back to normal. I got hit by a 248 attack after it was doubled 3 or 4 times in a row, can't beat something that powerful.

great game, some storyline would be nice and I find that 'End turn' very frustrating since you automaticaly use cards when played, but that's just my opinion. Keep going, game has a good potential and we like a bit of fresh air.

there is a problem with the modifier where you start with a bottle in a shop. it only had 2 weapons. one was a one use per battle, and the other required a sum of 29 to do damage. I could not buy it and afford an extra card meaning it was impossible to actually win a fight.

PWNED by a Trog on Easy lol kept drawing 123 of different suits and Trog kept drawing 456 4 cards each draw. I think we need a flee mechanism.

I just got all the way to the Kraken. Wow, was that fun. I knew I wasn't going to win but after some days of obsessed playing, I felt like I just really had the combination of understanding how best to use cards, I had good cards, and it all just worked out. So many times I figured I was beat.
I really love this game. The replayability is great. I don't know how many moments of AHA I had, figuring things out as I played.

I took a starter option to scrap things for twice as many chips but I seem to be scrapping for odd numbers of chips???? is this working correctly?

Some Shops don't contain offensive gear - just got one of those in my bag while starting an Unprepared game. That makes battles impossible, so maybe that case shouldn't be allowed :)

The Haltblade's text "no card cost" and the number of red gems constantly flashes I assume to let you know it's free to play, only it's not really free so I'd appreciate it if it stopped flashing at me.
The flashing indication is just that you can afford to use the item. There's an option in the settings menu to turn it off completely, if you like, for now. But in a later version I think we can disable the flashing for resource based items.

Now this is the slay the spire inspired game I've been looking for, definitely recognize a lot of elements from it but still super original in it's own right.

At first it seems a little difficult to understand the mechanics of the game. But we quickly understand its logic and ... surprise: The game is as interesting as it is addictive! Greetings to the developer. You did a really good job. Please don't abandon this game ... keep it alive through upgrades! Thx!

I just have a question. If a jack follows a ten, it's really not an even card, is it? I guess you mean the value is even. Rats! :) That darn giant scorpion is taking advantage of semantics!
Had to do it this way. Otherwise, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13, and A = 14 which would make Aces an even card, and a value that isn't 11 (everyone knows Aces are 11 due to Blackjack.)

Bag of Holding makes Wild Challenge pointless since you can activate it freely as many times as you want to browse through all the cards in the deck (excluding cards the enemy has).
Otherwise the update has been great, especially the latest balance of upgrade prices.
