hmm... came across the same temple that I had previously knelt at the altar for, desecrated a temple of hearts for, and still currently had the blessing for... I feel like the priest shouldn't be paying me chips to abandon and rejoin the faith I am already a part of. I could even desecrate the temple for an increased boost, but I feel as though I should be able to increase the boost for either a small fee or even for free (since I am already a part of the faith)

I have an older Mac and things slow down as I get further into the game. Even when I periodically clear the cache, it seems like my RAM is eaten up. I was near the end of World 3 on Hard mode, the browser tab crashed, and I lost my progress.
There is an issue that is specific to Firefox that we're working on. For now the game should work in Chrome, or IE, or Safari. If you're on mac, try Chrome or Safari?

I really like the black-and-white art against minimally colored backgrounds. It has character and style, and increases immersion.

I can't start the game. after loading is done it's stuck at the screen with the word loading and the loading bar etched on the screen.

A suggestion if it wasn't already made, or isn't visibly shown to the player: if you encounter another church or temple that's the exact same as the one you've already aligned with, shouldn't you get an upgrade that way without having to desecrate them? This checks if you already have them, of course.
Just ran into this situation, so I decided to add input before I forget.

Especially for the druid. His character set is poison and sustain, except he has no sustain. If you don't get lucky and find some early shield, you die very quickly
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not enough sustain early on. Each game feels too much like diving into the deep end.
But that's really my only critique, I love everything else about it

The amount of RNG required to play wizard is disgusting, cant even get through world 1 on easy for 10 times straight.

To new players: NEVER USE ENFLAME. It activates so rarely what with all the strange wincons on the enemies' cards that it's a waste of chips and cards. Curse is also very, very good by the same logic:Enemies never attack so you can mass-accuumulate damage. Hex, Poison and Freeze will make some matchups a joke, and are decent in most cases. Stun is amazing in conjuction with curse, but only stalls otherwise.

+I want add there is disproportional hardship to survive early game and late. Wouldn't it be better have bigger starting health pool to survive early game with less healing opportunities to make late game more difficult. For now it feels more like survive until second castle and than just play long enought to reach end.

Could i ask for some anouncment, which would tell me if "end of turn" would kill me. (I don't know how others, but i sometimes forget i am poisoned or curse apply after enemy attack.)

Just got a message about an update to the game and went to do a 'daily' run. Didn't have any food to start and didn't get any food even though I visited 2 flea markets. And died. This wasn't even bad RNG it was designed that way. Can I rate a game lower than 1?
DEVELOPER RESPONSE FROM PLAYSAURUS
If you don't like it, then don't play it - I'm not sure why you are so angry we added that feature? Sometimes it will be hard or impossible, because it's actually randomly generated.
If truly random makes the game unwinnable, when if you don't follow specific paths to upgrades or food anyways the game can be damned hard, then that might be another area to take a look at.
Not trying to have a dig at it, because random over scripted can be fun. I'd be interested in a "reset from beginning/previous boss castle" if you died, so that an alternate playthrough on the same map/gear setup can be tried.

Doesn't work at all for me. Hangs on the loading screen. Or if I am very lucky I see the first screen and can click once after which everything freezes up. Using firefox.

In the first tutorial battle it is 100% possible to not do enough damage on your first two turns so that the pair of aces doesn't kill the giant rat. When this happens it softlocks the game.

Another gripe: Abandoning faith will instantly remove the faith bonus, rather than doing so after a confirmation (or well after buying the new faith). Besides, changing faith seems too much of a downside in general.

so, does someone else got a bug in the tutorial battle that spmetimes he dmage of the 2 aes doesn' kil the rat and the game freeezes

I'm really glad you added back the easy mode... it can be really hard even in the easy mode if you can't get to a shop early especially in Wizard where you only can attack for a pair at first and it's really hard to get a pair. I can't proceed from Wizard even in the easy mode. I can't proceed at all in the normal or hard modes.

This game has an extreme (fast) memory leak that causes major problems quickly. I've never experienced one so bad. After just a while of playing, if I quit the browser BEFORE the game just outright freezes, my system will still freeze up for 6-9 minutes to recover from the large page file allocation (and physical memory allocation). Very bad.

Fun game, though it does tend to bog down & eventually freeze on me if I play more than 20 minutes. When can we expect a leaderboard?
Not sure if/when there will be a leaderboard (it is usually full of cheaters) but next build you'll be able to see how many people went to each map location in the daily run.

There is a bug when you are playing the poker games. Sometimes you cannot play a card anywhere and the only way to proceed is to hit continue and lose. Doesn't always happen but has happened occasionally.

This game rules, it is so creative and well-thought out. I hope you can make it bigger and better sometime! When did you begin making it? Surprised I hadn't come across it yet!
They aren't intended to be more or less difficult, just different ways to play the game. Some of them are a bit better than others, but the difficulty is not in any particular order.

I've put hours into this game; The usage of playing cards for probability rather than dice is very interesting and refreshing. It is really nice to see a plethora of playable characters each with unique play styles. The enemy attacks are interesting in how they thematically sync with the card requirements sometimes. So far Druid is my favorite class, especially if I happen upon curse mastery. The power trip of cursing an item to 200+, and then once they are about to use it, converting it into hellfire in the 400-500 range is cathartic. Awesome work!

The art is very good. If you mean to upgrade it, by all means, but keep it in the same line. Don't change the palette, don't add a whole lot of colour. If you mean to, dunno, use finer drawings, sure, but please don't do much of an graphics overhaul. What it's got really works.
The game is spectacular. I five it.

Tried one of the "activate twice" this run, items I generally ignore because the requirement seems insane and their effects aren't even that great. Now I'm sitting here with a witch's hat stating it needs 3 of a kind, but when I try to put 3 of a kind in it it doesn't light up. So not only are those items terrible they also seem bugged?

If the wizards tower is too close to something like a chest on the routes, it will cover over the thing above it and you wont be able to click it

Nice Game :) I found a small bug. The World Modifier "Sustained Block" is not active after save game import. It is still in the upgrades window, but not working anymore...

Great game, one of the better roguelites I've played, even including indie titles. Would be great to see some randomised starting equipment (still in line with their theme) for the different characters. Most of starting chips goes into Card draw, which is extremely important to use all your equipment every turn, making it hard to save up for those 63 chip equipments, which also have 20 chip upgrade costs, maybe having a trader event that chooses which item he takes from your equipment for you to get a rarer/more expensive equipment?
As an added, a lot of the characters seem to be relatable to the base DND classes. If so would be cool to see some relics around the world to give bonuses to characters throughout the game, like wand of magic missiles (refresh on campsites), or boots of speed (like the teleport scroll but instead lets you skip a tile in front of you) or a shield of thorns (if all damage is blocked, it is reflected into attacker) for melee characters.

Playing as the Druid has become rather hard since you can no longer stack Curses. Not much point if the most you can do is about 20 at the start. I dont know some changes have been very odd recently.

First of all, I really like this game. It requires a good level of strategy and also allows for different styles of play. Besides unlocking other heros, have you considered players earning some kind of perks or upgrades to help them get farther if they make it so far (i.e. start w/ more chips, extra random card, higher capacity, earn a skill, etc...) I think doing so would definitely up the how long people remain interested in the game from days to months. But again, I really like the concept and how each playthrough ends up different.

Just got back to this after a while and have to say the new updates just seem to make the game way harder especially since dmg doesn't appear to have gone down while max hp was cut in half? Really hurts rng characters like wizard who need some extra card draw to reliably deal damage and just flat out die early on even more so than before the changes.

After the loading screen, the bar becomes translucent over the game selection buttons, but none of the buttons respond to clicks.
