enemies disabled items are still targetable by curse affects though they don't do anything. A quality of life fix would be to make these disabled items untargetable

I think shops should have more equipment and selling them basing on game progress. Less demanding and cheaper ones more often at first; powerful ones more so later. For example Black Dagger - Black Axe - Pointy Axe - Uniform Warhammer - Orderly Halberd etc.

If an enemy places curse on a Bag of Holding, I can't seem to remove the curse from it. How do I "activate" the card in this case? I have tried stashing and returning cards, but to no avail.
Do you mean you lost all the unlocked characters? We'll see if we can reproduce this. For now you can re-unlock them by pressing ` and type "unlockHeroes"

It's killing me that if you try to kill your dog as hintress to gain some food, he doesn't attack you at all, he just wimper. :O I'm felt guilt now. xD Nice small detail there.

It would be nice to have some kind of marginal advantage when a character wins the game, in the next game the character could have something little extra worth perhaps a random amount of chips, a weapon upgraded by one level, a random item or consumable, +50 max HP or a bonus on other max, etc... Just randomly generating every time the same character starts a game depending only on the number of wins.

For the Rogue, you may spend 3 energy to steal one card, but you can't steal their ONLY card. I was vexed for a bit trying to figure this out.

...Tooltips are clear overall, but facts such as enemies always attempts moves from the left should be pointed out as well.
Gems are not too useful and flea markets sell them too often.
Many of the consumables are worth it, or perhaps too good?
-> The best game on Kongregate for years.
PS: The giant Octopus is actually a squid.

...Wizard is great. The three items work together very well. I won on first try carrying them to the end. Grab an armour in case you Reveal a certain doom. Curse also works miracles with Bag of Tricks.
Some enemies pose near-zero threat once you have figured them out, notably Mermaids and Kraken. That is quite rewarding tbh.
Number churches are more preferable to suit churches, not only because of the maths, but also because all characters begin with pair-multiplied items and it is easier to build strategies around 4 instead of 13 cards.
Shops are unreliable. Very often I saved chips for goods that turned out completely useless to me. I always remember that Flammable cannon. I can't see it doing any good unless I am ALREADY doing an Enflame build.
Weak output weapons such as Dagger should have further buffed growth for their occupying a equipment slot.

A player's feedback + hints to fellow players:
Knight is a decent starter character. Both his sword and shield have the potential to be end-game items. My Knight's Sword ended up hitting for over 300 with Pair K.
Huntress has a nice and cheap ability that compensates for her long-CD starting items, which I imagine are quite useless otherwise. She can dominate the game as long as a weapon with consistent output and/or armours, such as Axe of Spade, Blackjack of Defence, are available early on.
Rogue must find himself a consistent AND powerful weapon in world 1 or else he would pretty much die. While stealing cards and fleeing from nemeses is cool (if you have Energy that is), Throwing Knife is too weak, the Hexagon and even a Troll or a Priest can easily devastate him. Its cheap upgrade means nothing with the scant access to Blacksmiths. I suggest it starting with 2 shots, then alternate between +200% dmg and +1 shot.

The game is running much slower compared to previous updates.
I'm playing this through google chrome in case that's relevant.

I played the whole way through on nightmare mode. Great game. I like the challenge of it. I liked the OP rare items that you'd find in the shops once in a while--I hope you keep some of them. I finally managed to beat the game once as druid
For players: note the final boss has poison 50, and you'll need block 50+ each turn to stand a chance

I had a card which can change number 2 to any card I want, today I continue playing this game, the card had gone, and I have a card in my bag I never seen before. Why my card becomes a different card?
Sorry! This might have been because we updated the game with some item changes in the middle of your run. If you want to be safe, don't reload the game until you are done with a run.

..unlocked Huntress... how do you kill anything with her?? Poison has a massive cooldown and she has nothing else. Spent most of the battles confirming I want to end round...

To the creators...
-Knight is well balanced.
-Rogue(thieving cards) and Wizard(stash for magic formula) concepts are genius. That said, fleeing is poor compensation for an absolute lack of defense. In lieu, Rogue should have a ''Dodge Attack' tactic tile, costs 3 energy or 1 food and will dodge next turn(whether attacked or not) and Wizard should be able to use energy for some sort of magical barrier, a magic shield that costs 3 energy, any card x 1 block.
Huntress sucks and not in a good way. What were you thinking? Actually I know but food simply runs out to quickly.
So far, the alternate characters are fun but don't have the staying power of the Knight, if only for the staring shield and his ability to hit every combat round without cooldown. I inevitably revert to buying weapons and shields, as... aside from starting equipment(which is meager) there isn't much to compliment the specialties of the alternate characters, like no additional spells for Wizards.

-Many battles can be won with minimum damage if you understand how to exploit opponent equipment. For example, for some opponents, one needs merely block every combat round, leaving much less to attack with, meaning longer battles, requiring only patience and no resources or hit points.
-Two effective blockers are also essential for Knight, to be able to take hits during first shield cool-down.
-Upgrading certain weapons can be your biggest bang for your buck.
-Death is of starvation or loss of hit points. An effort is needed to not run out of either, it you're lucky... as often enough, they can be the scarcest commodity, especially when you need it.
-Choosing the optimal path can make the difference between completing a world relatively intact and a miserable death.
-For final boss on easy mode, 10-12 stuns and a decent attack(80-100 damage per combat round), ends it in about 10 rounds.

This game is all about how many cards you can play. If you're not drawing many cards and hitting with multiple weapons, you won't get very far. New toys, upgrades and comestibles are great but you'll want to invest in card draws, as well as damage.
It takes a few attempts to really understand what you need and a few more to fine-tune chosen tactics(which tend to vary according to equipment obtained).

Was already worshipping hearts, made to the church of hearts and had to desecrate it to improve the skill. Suggest you make an option to just worship instead of fighting to improve it. Nice game!

This could make such a good PnP RPG too, we have a team that is up for weird stuff like this, I think I will host a session with some simplistic module line like the old Crown of Kings Campaign. It actually has a similar enough layout of land.
If this happens again, can you send us a screenshot of what you mean by this? (Use the "Game Bug" button below the game). EDIT: Oh, yeah it was probably just that you had upgraded cards. Upgraded cards count for both possible values when used in equipment!

Okay, I will admit this is highly addictive. Thanks for the cheat code below that let me try out different avatars .. I think you should consider enabling that ingame for some cost, I would have paid Kreds for that just to be able to mess around with different starting set ups. Also would love to see this ported to mobile for my commute :) I would pay for that. Great you have to think all along.. really really thumbs up, well done, (though just a little bug maybe on the black jack game when I got 2 black jacks and busted the third game it didnt deal the dealers hand, I quit and played again. Just a little bug report !

Hello. Dev so i found a glitch.. With druid if your opponent has confounded on and you switch curse into enflame.. It would add the enflame but leave the curse as well.. and if you do it with all your energy.. even if the enemy started with 10 curse it would have.. half a million curse as well as half a million enflame. Just lettin you know about this bug/glitch. If it is one.. i feel bad for this boss now lol.

My initial thought was "Oh, a Slay the Spire clone, I'll give it a shot." I was pleasantly surprised to find out how wrong I was. I love the idea behind and the mechanics of this game. It's really enjoyable. The only thing that I feel is missing is the ability to modify the deck of cards in any way. Like, if you could add or remove certain cards of a number or suit. I think that would lend itself to some really interesting "builds". Maybe that functionality is in the game, and I just haven't come across it yet.

Love the game. 2 feedbacks right now.
1) add a normal attack for each class. sucks for a huntress to fight a fairy (poison shield 2) on the second encounter with a 4 cd spear.
2) you need to port this to mobile or other gaming platform. really insane game!

Giving this a 4/5. Already at this early stage, there's a fun game to play. This will easily be a 5/5 when it's slightly more polished. I'm looking forward to it!

Fun game so far. Hope you keep improving it. Here's a couple thoughts that I had . . . 1) It would be nice if there was an option to speed up the AI turns; if I somehow missed something, I can always read the log. 2) I'd like to have either a character or an item that enables swapping from holding bag to equipped DURING a match; obviously this could be really useful so would have to be properly balanced. 3) I'd love to see a character that doesn't have a standard set of abilities and starting cards, but just completely randomly assigned. 4) It would also be fun to have a character with no starting equip, but extra coins and 1 portable shop in inventory.

It is fun but honestly I wish it was faster. I'm not sure what I mean it just feels slow and if it was maybe half hour 'games' or with any kind of goal in mind it would be more enjoyable. 4/5

Enjoyable Slay the Spire themed game. I would like to see some permanent unlock benefits - and harder difficulties giving something extra for the permanent unlocks so that we have a valid reason to choose harder difficulty.

I think you should be able to play the gambling minigames from the main menu (because those are fun.)

Very interesting ideas, but they're barely implemented. It plays out as an excruciatingly long and repetitive crawl with little to no reward to the player for sticking with it. I kinda liked the sketch-art graphics as they were, though the environment isn't flushed out. And there's no music. This has the makings of a great game, which makes me wonder all the more why they posted it before there was anything to show.
