Is there any way you can write the save game file such that it does not get wiped when you update the game? Sure, my item's function might get changed, but I was really enjoying the playthrough that your update cancelled. Looking forward to my next run but it would have been nice to continue that one.

I don't like playing as the rogue but I'd like to unlock the other classes - could you please let us unlock the other classes with just the knight?

Excellent game. One tiny thing. Planters, gem mining picks, etc must be equipped to be used. When you try to equip them during combat, it says "You don't need to equip this item! It can be used from inside your bag."

Just finished my first run through four worlds. Game is fun; only got a few gripes. Unblockable attacks and stuns, especially multiturn stuns, aren't really a good mechanic because there's no way to play against it, and that's not really fun at all. A normal man of war stunned me for 4 turns straight with a poison on the end (which I had no chance to block).
A smaller thing is in flea markets, where buying gems/energy with chips is weighted in a way that makes it pretty much never a good idea, barring very niche situations (like trading chips for gems to trade for food, both of which you had none of). As it is, it currently just takes up slots for the most part. That's all I can think of right now; everything else seems generally good. I look foward to seeing what this becomes in the future.

I'd like the option to trade energy for food anywhere on the map, just to avoid situations where you get a bad streak of unavailable food.

Mixed feelings here. I like the concept and fighting system, but hated the food factor. Without knowing ahead you can pass on valuable items to stock food maybe uselessly or aim for items and end up losing all health in a path were food is not obtainable for 15+ steps in a row. That leads to a salty end of a 2 hours game in which strategically nothing can be done to avoid a sad faith. For me, it is a flaw when in a strategy game luck always has the last word and sends you back to square one. With the creativity level shown in the making, I'm sure you will come up with some tweaks and achieve a good balance. Very promising overall. :)

One of the best games I've played on Kongregate for the last four years. Interesting game mechanics, good blend of luck and skill, great mini games, lots of replay value, and I can still see lots of opportunity for further development! Some aspects of the game can be a bit janky (menus and some explanations), but that is entirely expected for a pre-alpha game.

I got attack resistance to the druid, but it doesn't seem to block any attacks. Does it need to be activated, or is it a bug?

It took my quite a while before i learned that Aces count as a one, and are thus usable with any card that says [rank .. or lower] or as the start of a straight followed by 2, while still always having a value of 11.

"refresh causes the target equipments to become usable again this turn, even if they are on cooldown."
This seems to be inaccurate. It does not allow me to use an equipment twice on the same turn as the description implies, It ONLY eliminates cooldown.
Almost screwed up the final boss fight, I saved a refresh potion for the last boss thinking it'd let me use my attack cards twice. I still managed to win, but I would been pretty salty otherwise ;P Please fix the effect/description.
Sweet game otherwise. Kinda scoffed at first about it being just some knock-off "slay the spire," but I've never played that game for as long as I just did this. Saving the druid and huntress play-throughs for another day! Thanks for the game!

Is a planter expected to disappear (maybe just in the final boss battle?) - I used it three or four times, then when I went to remove it from my equipment for the final boss battle and replace with something else, it was already disappeared, to my surprise.

Poison's description states at the End of turn, but it seems to activate at the start of turn. Some of the timing is strange. That's kinda to be expected from a pre-alpha, and I'm actually really excited to see this game grow!

Wow you actually realized how hard/imbalanced the huntress s and changed her position because of it 'm impressed most people would just leave it till you re balance her

Love this game! Was super bummed I couldn't finish my playthrough bc I had to go to work, but such is the way with alpha stage games. The core mechanics are great and it even seemed fairly balanced already which is bananas. This feels like a top-tier flash game from 2007 as it is right now. My biggest fear is that it'll trade that flavor for some art style that isn't to my tastes. But since "2007 Flash game" probably isn't a bankable aesthetic, I can't really complain. Just don't jam it all up with a bunch of skinner-box mechanics, please.

I remember the good old days, back when the wizard had that item that let her improve her hand or disrupt the enemy's hand, instead of the "I give up all hope, let's just redraw my cards" equipment!

I'd like to have the win-loss statistics for each game mode be replaced by something more constructive, like a high score or furthest progress counter. There's nothing that grinds my gears more in a game than seeing a statistic dedicated to my total losses; I want to move past my failures, not have them hanging over my head for all eternity.

Thank you VERY much for making the game window scale in comparison to the browser zoom level. This game might be one of the first on Kong to actually implement this courtesy.

I got to 4-6, the game looks really good, even if there are games similiar like this, this still feels like a new spin on the genre (focusing on poker mechanic and upgrading by type or number), from 3 onwards the game feels slower, beacuse i feel like the monster had really high hp and i wasn't doing much damage, but maybe it was beacuse i played a lot ;P (two hours maybe), so at the end i was feeling more bored and tired (still fun tho)
Also i focused on having more cards, but not many equipment so it was probably "my fault" (i only got two items), maybe i got "bored" because i didnt feel more progress when i finished a new world,i just got little more resources. Maybe a little random bonus could be fun, something that adds more dmg on stat type (+dmg on cursed,+dmg on poison) or some random enchant, to make you feel this isnt another run like the past one.
Besides that, i think that overall the balance was good.

This is one hard game to win. And now I meet the rogue. OUCH!
Even after dumping 50 chips to have 4 card draw. I have to maybe get a 2 card straight, oh but then I have to deal with cooldown!
I an dump 2 low cards together for a poke. Once. I even updated it to a second use and just cant spit out dmg with this.
Tough game. Hope this balances out cause this game is rather fun.
