Castle (Treasure Island, last one of World 4) to Camp to Combat to Combat, and then I closed the game [because it had had started to slow down my computer rather significantly]. From the sounds of Artubass's comment, I shouldn't be alone in losing progress for several nodes, though.

Under rating threshold (show) Game itself is great (I'd even go so far as to say it's among the best flash/unity/etc games I've seen, and with a bit more content worthy of a proper Steam release), albeit quite poorly optimized. Optimization issues aside, there's a rather more pressing issue: The game doesn't save properly when you close it. For example, I was three tiles past a castle when I closed the game, and not only did it lose all the progress I had made since the castle, it lost my progress within the castle itself [and wouldn't allow me to open up the castle]. Which dropped me to 0 food [from the 12 or so I'd restocked up to]. Which cost me the match. Kinda irksome. :P

I'm sorry about this. The game *should* save once per world map node if you reload. Did you do anything in your game that you think was different/unique that might help us reproduce it?

Under rating threshold (show) Suggestion: A save button. I know, this game autosaves, but I have found a bit annoying when you close the game, open it and got wiped a few tiles already completed.

Under rating threshold (show) I originally rated 3, but then I gave it another go, and found that I was very thoroughly enjoying myself. Simple game mechanics if you understand basic poker rules. This type of game and the addictive nature of it is why I've been coming to Kongregate for 10+ years. Let's work on some storyline to give it some more interest, and maybe even "decisions" to have branching storylines, and you've got something beyond solid. Thank you! 5 out of 5.

Under rating threshold (show) Hi, I never write comments, but I feel compelled to write this. This game is awesome! I finally made it though all the different classes and I think they are both simple and well thought out. The knight is your bread and butter attack and defend. The thief can steal both for offense and to prevent the enemy from getting a key combo. Like alot of other games, it takes some experience to play the wizard with the card manipulation and can be quite slow in the beginning, but absolutely deadly in the end game (3x damage of 4 of a kind, yes please) The druid was a little underwhelming. It's not my playstyle, but it cool to flip between curse and enflame. Doubling the effects is quite nasty. Lastly the Huntress is cool, but the fact that the initial equipment either has a cooldown or is 1 time use, makes for some combats that take forever, waiting for something to be usable. Overall, a wonderful game and I look forward to seeing this game progress

Under rating threshold (show) I think the Magic Missile first upgrade should be x3 rather than the last. There's no way to really take advantage of the upgrades until that point so it feels a lot like a wasted starting card. Unless I get better stuff in the first few shops, the Wizard's run is basically over.

Under rating threshold (show) Fun game, but I personally found the medium difficulty setting to be a bit too long for my taste. Especially with so many of the enemies being able to heal, the game took forever, and I just decided to stop blocking and get killed at the world 3 boss rather than try to slog all the way to the world 4 boss.

Under rating threshold (show) Discovered what seems like a bug: 4th world, castle cave, Doom Fowl has two attacks which both require "at least 36" and "... 32", respectively, but the Fowl can activate both, although the second attack just needs him to input one deuce? This seems like a bug because we players can't attack like that, so...

It's not a bug, the first equipment says "Return all cards to your hand" which gives the Doom Fowl the ability to activate the second equipment.

Under rating threshold (show) The Wizard also needs a buff too. Their ability and Bag of Tricks are too random and energy intensive to really be abused correctly. Magic missile is also a crap shoot, since there's quite a bit of variance when it comes to getting pairs. It's normal to take anywhere from 3-6 turns before a pair shows up, and when it does, it might not even do much damage. It takes quite a while before the upgrades catch up so a slow start or an unlikely enemy would end the run right away. Stashing also takes up a precious turn if there's nothing else to do.

Under rating threshold (show) BUG: - The "attack resistance" ability from a guild says that you can get immune to "Attack N" for one turn, but instead it grants "attack shield 1", which protects from the next (one) attack. - One of the enemies (can't remember which one) says he loses draws immediately, but instead he loses draws for the rest of combat. I also think that later fights are taking too long. Awesome game otherwise, keep it up!

Under rating threshold (show) Starts off fine, but as you start hitting enemies with 500+ hit points, easy blocks, and spammable status effects, your ability to deal equivalent damage kind of shrivels up. You can survive, but it starts taking hours to get through a few stages. Either gear needs to be buffed, prices need to be cheaper, or more gold needs to flow into our coffers.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game! I particulary depised the food management aspect, and towards the end of the game the battles become too long as enemies have too many HP. I had four damage-dealing items and still took forever to crawl trough the last world. On the other hand, better than a game feels long than short. Everything else is a 5/5. Loved the sketchy art.

Under rating threshold (show) 5/5. Mechanics are fun. Recommend not overcorrecting for balance, as part of the enjoyment for new players is figuring out what cards are OP. One criticism is that as the game progresses the enemies stats scale up so drastically that the only winning plan is to "stunlock" them by preventing them from ever playing their cards. Would recommend having some enemies keep their hp and damage similar to early game while making their cards easier to play.

Under rating threshold (show) This is really awesome. very well designed. Very well balanced. so much enemy and skill diversity. I really can't stress enough how much i like this game. I loved slay the spire, and personally think this (although not as polished) is at least (AT LEAST) as good. I really hope you continue development on this game. And maybe even release a full standalone version. (i saw there was a planned release on steam). I'd be willing to pay for that. Excellent work man!

Under rating threshold (show) World boss 2 is a pushover. His most dangerous activity activates only on a flush of 4, which is like 1 in 10 rounds. Otherwise it just sits around healing itself for a paltry 6 HP (on Normal difficulty).

Luck aspect is great, although I think some cards could use some more scale ie. 3 card straight with +100% for each extra card in the straight so you can get some mega turns if the cards turn out right/ you use utility cards correctly as it feels like turns get less impactful the more you play. Also think a bit more progress would be nice, maybe achievements or character xp giving giving weapon locks for future runs as the game currently feels a bit sameish after 20+ runs. Just a thought! Anyway great game, thank you for giving me some respite over a family christmas!

Under rating threshold (show) great game so far, just a few thoughts. rougue badly needs some work, either cheapening it's skill or removing the cooldown from the shank, because you're running out of options pretty quickly if you dont have an alternative way of dealing damage. the other thing is the boots of escape: three chars have them and there isn't any real use for them, not by a long shot. fleeing in rogue-like games almost never a good choice, because your opponents get stronger while you waste limited resources to flee from them.

Your aces should count as 1 when putting them in equipment (so you can always use them when you want to), and when damage is calculated, they count for 11.

Under rating threshold (show) Rogue is way to weak. The skill takes a card, but it is not as unfair as a stun which effectively disables the opponent's entire turn (and for cheaper the cost to boot). Throwing knives is also a joke. Sure, it's quite strong, in theory, but the cards never align; it's a gloried knight sword and not even that with the rank 8- restriction. Shank of straight is also terrible until some amount of card upgrades and even then, if your first word shop doesn't come with a draw item, you'll need to restart.

Under rating threshold (show) The one complaint I have so far is the items that you can upgrade that on upgrade do "go from 100% bonus damage if you activate this with a 4 card straight flush to 150% bonus damage if you activate this with the still insanely unlikely condition!" I feel like they should gain SOME bonus to typical damage as well because it really feels like there is no reason to upgrade my item that might MAYBE pull off the extra damage once when I can instead upgrade the necklace of cards to insane effect...

Under rating threshold (show) Sometimes when I enter a casino it will literally just steal the 4 gold needed to enter and not take me into the minigame. Not sure why this happens because if you close out after it happens and reopen the casino you're able to enter if you pay again

Under rating threshold (show) The mechanics are absolutely great. I love the variety of monsters and abilities--especially the utility powers (the ones that let you stash cards are my favorites). Every run so far has been very different and I'm always having to think about my strategy and resource use. I like the sketchy art, too, and the tooltips are clear and helpful. However, like others, I'm finding that it lags a lot on the world map, and that it seems to use an awful lot of memory for what it's doing.

We'll work on performance in the next update. For sound effects, currently there is a sound for when you move the playing cards around, but that's the only sound effect for now.

Under rating threshold (show) Having played 4 of the characters I'll say this: Druid needs something else besides just his dark dagger. If he encounters an enemy with 1 weapon that has an easy requirement then he's screwed and will have 0 chance. Curse is a nifty thing to have but he needs a secondary damage source if his main one relies on the enemy not getting lucky.
