This game is AWESOME. Too bad for me I simply found no food options in the flea markets, and ended up dying only by starvation... luck plays a big part on this! XD

Fantastic game. With the endless idle games out there proliferating like mold I thought the days of getting to play a game like this again on Kong were long gone. Excellent replayability; each new fight is its own microcosm of figuring out the correct strategy to use. Engaging and fun.

I've never left a review for a kongregate game before, but this game is
amazing. The amount of thought that must've went into this to think about all of the different intricacies and balance between the different ways to spend resources, and effects of moves (poison, curse, enflame etc.) is astounding. Great job and well done

This is such an amazing game!
The game play has been really addicting and fun. And then I was broken when the battle with Duke rolled up. Even starving, I just could not bring myself to attack and used my last escape dust to just refuse. Well done!

Some things to think about:
- save feature
- On a win you can restart with some kind of perk, the amount depending on difficulty/length. Also you have to increase the difficulty or length each time.

This is one of the two best games on Kongregate in 2019. So happy to see something that's not an idle, or clicker. I can't wait to see what more you do with this.

I think I've rated games like twice here. Five stars, needs a little polish but it's good to see something unique come up.

The Rogue's starting equipment is extremely bad, most early turns are wasted doing nothing (either due to cooldown or incompatible cards). Suggest changing the Shank of Straights for the Dagger or replacing Boots of Escape with an appropriate always-useful utility card.

The thief needs serious rework, even world 1 is damn hard because there are so many turns where I can only charge my shield and take damage. Not so fun...

@GordionKnot: There are some items like "Bane of [Suit]". I had a "Bane of Hearts" that let me redraw all heart cards input in there +3 (after 2 upgrades). With that you'll hit almost every time some combo.

No "new game+"? I'd really like to upgrade my character to the max and then tackle the hardest difficulty ;D 5* for this great game! will play it lots more

Are the cards drawn fully random or from a deck and reshuffled, or some other thing? I'm curious as to how to optimize my play lol

Easy is still pretty damn hard, and it's hard to really test builds since everything is so expensive. I think it would be a lot better if easy mode has cheap items and upgrades so that we can practice on building our characters and figure out the best way to resource manage on harder difficulties.

Is spirit horn supposed to be "untargetable"? I'm fighting first world boss now with a druid; and it seems like the spirit horn isn't getting affected by stuff I'd expect it to. It's like it has untargetable without mentioning it.
You can add it to your Steam wishlist here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1184820/Poker_Quest/ but the version here on Kongregate will probably be very similar once it's finished.

The couples dark dagger is a little bugged I think. It says play a one, three, or four but an Ace doesn't work. Love the game, been playing for hours.

This game is amazing. The UI could be a little more fluid, but the game concept is tits. I hope this keeps on growing.

This game is great, but I do have a requested feture, can we have a way to sort our opponets hand seperate from our own? this seems to matter more the later into the game one is

A quick thought, having had a few runs as every character, The Knight feels considerably easier to play as than any of the others, while the Rogue and the Wizard feel considerably more difficult. In particular, the Wizard has trouble fighting the first boss.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I enjoy this game but wish that the starting weapons for all chars allowed for flexibility with card numbers like knight has. Wizard in particular was frustrating playing over and over for a pair.

Very promising! Some issues I stumbled over:
Not sure why, but in one instance the "poison" text on the opponent's avatar got scrambled: https://i.imgur.com/4K0RDGX.png
The curse shield can be dodged if you curse using the druid's special (flipping the Enflamed status): https://i.imgur.com/zqbUWdG.png
Dunno if bug or feature?
Also I saw a "counfounded" typo at some point in the battle log.
Anyway, good job! Will be following the developments.

Great game you have so far. Excellent concept and balancing. Just one thing, I'm not sure why I can't use the Blacksmith when playing as the Huntress. Can you check? Thanks.

Awesome mechanic, I think it has lots of potential to replace dice combats system in "around the table RPG". I personally would really enjoy playing this system IRL instead of these boring dice throwing combats. I might test it with friends on a short RPG, but it could work well on a long RPG too. There could be some multiplayer interactions to explore, like lending some cards to other players. But it would take a lot of balancing so you could think of doing something like a Dungeon&Dragon book or card game with this system !

Great game, but scaling is an issue on longer runs/higher difficulties, where enemies have 1000+ HP and the only cards you need (and will use) are a) curse and poison cards with good multipliers, b) bag of holding (best item in game), c) a free card cycler (e.g. bracelet of cards), and d) a way to cycle opponent's cards. Because druid and wizard each start with 2 of the above, they're by far the best characters.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A thing I would like to suggest is to have your cards fan out or spread wider so it's easier to click on them. As it is right now there are quite a good chance it get some misclicks.

There is an exploit where you can buy the world sight upgrade to see what is in front of you, then exit out and rejoin. You get the money back and lose the upgrade but now you know what is in front of you.

this game needs a permanent bonus (like amount of cards drawn, skills, equipments, slots for equipments and some infinite map, character levels, idk)..to make people play it for days/months..I've won a run w/ knight and dont want to play more because it come backs to the begin..but the idea of the game is very good

@Playsaurus No, I didn't play on another site. The only informations I can give to you is that i play on a laptop, running Debian testing with Firefox 68.2.0esr. As I said before, the strange thing is that my other Kongregate games don't have this problem. Hope this helps.
BTW, thanks for this game, I love Slay the Spire, and this game feels very like it with a slightly different (but really cool) taste. Great job.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I gotta say I'm impressed. Once this gets to the appropriate stake of development, this will easily be in league with slay the spire, and FTL.
I really enjoy how much it feels like as much as the deck generates randomness, you feel responsible for it, you know they had 2 hidden cards, that you even could have used resources to see, so when you see the results you know that you had every opportunity to respond to it. I love how the extra resources make for a level of depth that I could some distance before I needed to understand them, making for an incredibly adaptable learning curve. I love the whole balancing act of how there are so many mechanics you can keep track of to do better, but also ignore able. I can either keep track of my food, eating at a very controlled moment, or managing the resource with precision, or I can just make sure I don't run out.
This is excellent as is, so I’m excited to play it more, and see what new is added, not to mention the depth I haven't reached yet

Hum... Last time I played (2 or 3 days ago), I had Rogue, Wizard and Druid unlocked and now it seems my save has disappeared... I didn't delete cookies and my other games don't seem to have the same problem...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is a really cool game, very addicting and fun with a nice range of enemies and ways to kill them.
I was wondering if there was a way to permanently increase the characters ability.
