i think there should be an info tab such as when you are about to refine an object it should state what gems you are about to get and if you was to sell how much money. that alone would take away issues at the beginning about not knowing exactly what refining does.. SPEED CONTROL, and a little rework on the skill tree, everything is fine with it just a little more in depth maybe try to make it to were you can play with one character type multiple times and you could choose a different path each time, more skilltypes to make the characters a little more unique you are on to something hear that can be GREAT you have a fan base which is most of the battle alone now you need to just make the characters more personal a huge skill tree alone can make it so every players character is different then the next person. every idea on this game is GREAT, parts like the skill tree feel pre beta. please let me know were you plan to go with this.

OK, I've figured out that the "next veteran bonus power" is simply the numbers above it, added up. That number is "maxable" by raising the levels of my equipped items, which raises the "item level" (a very misleading term as used here, since in any other game I've played, "item level" generally refers to the level of items FOUND, not the average level of items EQUIPPED). That "item level" is the one component of "next veteran bonus power" which I can control within a "career" (or whatever it is that we are doing prior to "retiring", each time). And I've figured out that that "next veteran bonus power" gets added to the specified item's "square" next to the item's icon on the left side of the inventory screen. So far so good. Now... WHAT DOES THAT NUMBER DO??? I can't detect ANY effect whatsoever, so far. I have all the squares populated by numbers, and I can raise those numbers... but what is the EFFECT?!?

And if they STILL complain about vetting to easily, then just ignore them. They have no reason to complain, eventually the vetting will get hard, and the monsters tough. Constructive criticism is okay, But you have to know, that that criticism is just one guys opinion. Against how many who either can't type (No account) can type and will (Like me) And those that can type, but prefer not to, and their opinions differ from his?. Sure, the same thing can be said for that guys opinion, just like this opinion. But if he can get the game how he wants it, eventually with time, then he has no reason to complain. Us, on the other hand, are permanently affected, and cannot choose to go back to the way it was. I'm just thinking for a way to make everyone happy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
And if they complain about it taking to long, then only increase the requirement to vet a little bit each time, that way, they can vet a lot, but eventually get to the difficulty they want. Sounds good, eh?

The level requirement to retire is 100. I know that much, but is it the item level, or the skill level? Leaning between extremely easy to reach, and extremely hard to. 5/5 still, been playing this game for awhile. I always come back from time to time to do something. But, lately there's been a lot of nerfs. Nerfing gold find percent skill, twice. Nerfing a lot of other things (By the comments) I really miss that 50% per point with the gold find, that was fun... Surprised people complained about it being easy (If they did) Just vet enough, it'll be hard then.

Level 1 epic book has more stats then a level 14 epic book. Hmm... And that very same level 1 epic book has more stats then a level 50 rare book. Something seems awfully wrong here.. (Stats to level 1 epic book. Max energy: 18. Gold find: 72. Magic find: 12. Value: 2.13k gp) (Stats to level 14 epic book. Max energy: 20. Gold find: 56. Magic find: 8. Value: 1.74k gp) (Stats to level 50 rare book. Max energy: 35. Gold find: 62. Magic find: 11. Value: 2.35k gp) And don't ask for proof, I don't have a camera to take a picture, or any software to do so. If you can't trust me, then I can't trust you.

so i just started hardcore mode again after getting one-shot on level 150 (lame as hell i might add)
little ol' level 1 me taking on a whole buncha baddies, just slinging that blade everywhere, when suddenly a cute little barbarian crosses my path
"hey there cutie ;3" i exclaim, curtsying just a bit whilst winking && folding my wrist like those ladies in anime
then all of a sudden WHAMM i feel a sharp pain in my head
i look up and wouldn't you know it? there's a club sticking out of it
i've just been one-shot by a level 1 creature
thanks, barbarian

Glitch in gem selling: if you have 1.5k in jems and sell 5, it sells .5k at the price of 5. shortcut in visual effects the math. Noob advice: use the setting prompt next to "special". Upcoming update advice? Gimmi more control of when to spawn with a relation to energy/health. With just health I have to set it to 100% incase I get 2 elites in a row, but if I could set it for both I could do more of a 60/40 split. Plus maybe a "use special if health is below %" Hope some of this is helpful to both players and programmer

i think the upgrades cost to much early on almost to the point that it pisses you off. other then a rework on the upgrades i have no real complaints..oh and it needs a game speed option that would help SOOOOOOO MUCH!!

To give yourself a boost, save up on Zircon gems, When you have enough enchant some items with crit chance, when you get to 1000 crit points, you have a 100% crit chance

Aww Man! this games lacks a important vital option: hard drive save! i just lost over 24 hrs of progress cause my pc needed to reboot cause of some windows update! all lost! ... i was at level 70 with all my gear on legendary level fully upgraded and enchanted! 4000DPS per second! all lost over night! bahh.....

Is my math bad or is speccing into crit dmg completely pointless. Since I have 100% crit chance 1 point in crit dmg gives me 7.5% more damage but 1 point in combat damage gives me 10% (5%*2 crits)

So the only exciting fights are against legendary monsters, but theyre so rare you never see them happen... I request that you put something in to let you summon them... For example every kill gives you a point and it takes 5000 to summon next monster as a legendary, that way you can see where you stand against them instead of just fighting them all afk ;)

Would be nice to have a way to see what I'm getting from Refining things. Then I would be able to calculate if there's certain things I should refine vs sell or what upgrades under wealth are the most beneficial at the time.

Oh WOW, that gem shop really rips you off o__O
"Oh, selling diamonds, are we? I'll give you 750 per diamond."
"Oh, you want to BUY diamonds? I'll give you a cheap deal, 10.5k per diamond. Best deal you're going to get around here."
Aah, the evil deeds you can do when you have a monopoly on a market...

Thanks for the reply, dev. :-) I am still unclear on 2 things, hopefully the last 2! First, I equipped several items to check if they received any bonus and they didn't -- at least, not that I saw. Should the item mouseover be showing enhanced damage (and other??) stats once I equip the item? It doesn't. Second, can you please explain the bonuses listed on the veteran page? Vet ranks = # of retirements, right? The others are a total mystery to me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the block penetration isn't allowing for crit damage. That's why it's so much lower than it should be. Not sure if intended or just a math bug.

OK, we're almost to an actual definition now. What stat(s) is it that is/are boosted by this percentage? My "head" slot has a 30 next to it, so I take it that that is 30% boost which will get applied (at next retirement) to... what? I have read the veteran retirement page and it still does not make sense to me. The bonuses listed on the left on that page are not explained. (Am I the only one who just finds this whole veteran bonus thing super confusing??)
Hello. Sorry that I have not responded to this sooner. The percentage next to your "head" is a boost to ANY item that you equip in the "head" slot. So if your head item has 100 damage, and the bonus percentage next to it says 30, than it will change the damage on the helm to 130 (130% of its normal damage).

i really dont get it, the game is SO SLOW!!! i mean i hunt now ca. 48 hours and i retired once, and am now at lvl 55 with the second char. to slow. makes no fun for me... or i do something wrong? the concept is genius but the speed (nospeed) is kiling me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ProspectorSam I might be wrong but i think those numbers boost your stat by a small % depending on the number written
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What does this mean? "When you retire, one of your item slots will gain said [Veteran] bonus." I have no idea what that means. The bonus is a number. What does it mean that a slot gains a number? (Thanks for all the work you are putting into this; I keep asking because I like the game!)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have a question in that stats panel there is somewhere where it says every items you looted, it is written lost items found : 0, what the hell is a lost item? is it some king of high quality ultra rare item?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
is there a trick to spawning legendaries or are they at an extremely low spawn % ? after playing 6 hours in hardcore im scrapping at lvl 55 and havent spawned 1 :/
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK, I finally understand the 3 levels shown. (Phew!) Next question: what is the number in the box next to each equipped item? It has no mouseover hint and it isn't clickable. What does it do? I'm guessing this is the "veteran level"??
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
stll think health regen needs to go up more then 2 per upgrade i have to get all my health from health stealing which probly gets my like 500 times more health regen than health regen
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Thanks for the replies about the types of levels. I noticed on my latest reload that the entry screen shows "skill level" equal to the level shown next to the sound icons at the bottom, so I guess that's what that one is.

Funny how despite the issues I keep coming back to this one... Good job Dev :) After spending a bit of time with this game, I see two main things that would be good to improve. 1) Looking at hundreds of whites to find one with 1.56 speed gets very tedious... Perhaps a way to sort by speed, or perhaps let upgrades do less than .15 near the speed cap. 2) Hardcore is too slow idling as you need to play ridiculously conservative to allow for the occasional Legendary monster... Not sure what would be best there... perhaps make them more frequent so playing conservative doesn't feel like a waste. In any case, looking forward to whatever you come up with next :)
Thank you for playing! In regards to your first suggestion, it would be very simple to add a "sort by speed". I can put this on my to-do's. I have been thinking of way to speed up "Hardcore" mode myself. I have a few floating around in the depths of my mind, so maybe one will come to fruition soon. :)

There is something i would like in a future update! Could there be someplace where you see how many %drop rate for every tier of item? that way we would know if we capped magic find. Thanks :) great game btw!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how exactly does magic find works? how many % chance do we have to drop a legendary on a mob? and how much does having magic find helps the drop rate?

For everyone trying to understand "levels" there are two different types, our Item Level (which is created by averaging the item level of all equipped items) and your skill level which raises with XP. Your Item Level is displayed by the avatar in the top left, your Skill Level is displayed to the right of the XP Bar. Also, the "monster level" you set for spawned monsters will be equal to the Item Level the item those spawns will drop.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ProspectorSam - You're pretty close. Retirement is based on your average Item Level (The top-left number); The settable middle number determines monster level and level of items you find; The bottom right number is your "character level" but all it does is determine the number of skill points you have available AFAIK.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Could you clarify what the levels are, shown on the screen? Top left, next to the char class avatar, is supposedly item level, right? But every item I find is always the level in the middle right (the one I can set manually). That middle right one seems to be monster level, since the monsters get more HP when I raise it. I think the bottom level (to the right of the sound icons) is my char level, right? It is advancing INCREDIBLY slowly now. I'm level 70 and need level 700 to retire. At present rate that will take weeks. I've set my monster (or item?) level to 100 above the top left (supposedly item, but really ???) level and am still going like frozen molasses.
