The MARDEK games are simply genius. Just genius. Fun pixel graphics, great old-school music, generous sprinklings of humor, well-thought-out backstories and plot, and generally an immersive and engaging experience. It was not a hassle at all to replay the new versions of Chapter 1 and 2. MANY, MANY thanks, Pseudolonewolf! Your games are EPIC! 5/5

I never realized how extensive this game was. I've played this many times, always getting stuck on the "opposing team" in that one dungeon that kicks my butt every time, but have never "explored" or backtracked. This time around, I've made sure to , and holy-crap-there's-so-much-cool-stuff! The gem mines have all this armor and money, and I'm going to try to get the Easter Egg cravingradishes mentioned. This game is more complex than I thought, which now bumps up my previous rating from a 4/5 to a 5/5.

Hi reckful. You said you were missing Cambrian Champion for MARDEK RPG: Chapter 2 but it looks like you’ve already earned it! Glad to see you got it straightened out! Cheers!"
...Maybe they were unusually busy those days.
It was not my first time reporting a missing badge, however, thanks a lot for your enthusiasm to help me,PadAbum :-)

@Megazeroxtreme I am starting to think it is both, because the main character of that party is 'Bartholo', and the three characters that most embody their counterparts (Bartz, Lena, Galuf) have their descriptions in the encyclopedia almost matching the actual characters. Ex: In V, Galuf is an old man who's past is a mystery until half way through the game, where you find out that he is a king. Bernard in this game is described as 'An old man who doesn't appear to fit in with the saviours at all... He is a potent spellcaster, but is rather mysterious...'

I lost my save on my old computer (I had almost 100%ed chapter 3) but I don't mind. This just gives me another excuse to play this through again!

if you go to the room in the gem mines next to where you defeated muriance(the room with the 4 treasure chests)while you have aqualung activated, you can walk up to the lake and press x,where a message comes up saying you can to dive in in chapter 3

@darthead45 I believe it is a FF1 reference. There is a warrior, a thief, a white mage, and a dark mage, which is the default set of classes in the first Final Fantasy.

Did anyone else catch the Final Fantasy V reference? Those four adventurers you fight in Tainted Grotto are based off of Bartz, Lena, Ferris, and Galuf.

I have reported the missing “Cambrian Champion Badge” twice with the screenshots of the champion sword(the reward of the tournament) and the dialogue with the bar barkeeper after finishing the tournament. I think any of it can confirm the badge but I still haven't got it,which make me have no enthusiasm to play the 3rd chapter with a much greater content. Please tell me what kind of screenshot should I take if these two don't work?

Okay, so I've played this series on like 5 different computers already, starting fresh on each one. Does that make me addicted?

Haven't heard it anywhere, thought it was useful to know. Pressing "z" when the battle "!" pops up cancels the battle. Nice if you're saving mana.

Should you continue this series, kindly consider removing the slider-and-gold-bar element from the combat system; true, some people may enjoy it, but I find this hybrid turn-based and QTE (quick-time event) monstrosity to be utterly horrendous, exacerbated immensely by the ludicrous, cramp-inducing choice of keybindings. Honestly, Z and X? You must have the daintiest hands in the world. Furthermore, and this is an entirely subjective preference, but the dialog strikes me as puerile and generally annoys, rather than amuses, given the gross dependence on meta references. Perhaps if they were clever I'd excuse it, but one droll homage after another becomes wearisome. That much aside, kudos on the retro RPG.

maybe once pseudolonewolf finishes however many this series will turn out to be, he could make another (smaller) one following deugan.
now that i think about it, this should probably be in the game 3 comments, but w/e

Eh, I messed up big time. :/ I went into the Battleship, totally unaware that there was good loot still on the surface I hadn't gotten to yet...and I can't get passed the dragon thing now. I'm going to start over and try to do better now.

Water: No Mardek! I know it's been harsh lately, but you have so much to live for! (after destroying battle ship, before resting)

you get strong almulets, extra coins, a strong two handed sword, a strong bandit leather suit and an extra adventure if you revisit the three tunnels after the first mission. But please go to the lake hag first to acquire the breathe deep under water skill first so you can follow the bandit leader's escape.

Best game ever I doubt any other games will be better, the soundtracks, monsters, time it takes to master skills and the amount of equipable items is amazing best game that relates to a SNES or Sega game good job Pseudonwolf!

While not the best graphics of our day, there actually is a simple quality that attracts many to it. Definitely something worth spending a lot of time to finish and even perfect, and by far one of the best online RPG games to date.

If you need some cash, return to Canonia after defeating the shaman and talk to the soldier in the house at the right side of the village. He'll give you 1000 gold.

stalth heres 2 explanations: morics necromantic magic is too strong to be broken, OR theyve been dead for so long that its seeped in and can no longer be cured.

Overall fantastic game. Very nostalgic as it combines the SNES style overworld with a great-looking flash battle screen. A must play for all RPG lovers! 5 stars!

Need a way to know who can wear what. Fine and funny game. The reaction system is a brillant idea. And I so love the SNES era for RPG !

Walking through 3rd time. End of ch 1 Mardek and Deugan were at 10 level. Used "Huff-Puff" for 4 mana and 100 exp when monsters brought 20-50 exp each. From 5 to 10 level it consumed 2 hours (I was drinking teas also in real) of "breathing":) Between 1n2 chapters they take +1 script Lvl.
