For those who don't actively go to his site, Chapter three is due to be out in a week or two in his own words, which usually means 3 to 4 real time.

@azderhorn: For gameplay purposes? Not really, although the extra potions you pick up gives you a bit of extra margin in the first stage of this chapter. But for story purposes, it's worth it, and it's really short... Talking to all the NPCs, doing the side quest and finishing the first chapter take an hour or two TOPS on the first play through, and I can do a speedrun of that chapter in, like, 15 minutes.

best turn base rpg in this site, good long and solid story line, great game play the reaction system is very well done it may took some time to learn but will get use to it for awhile very creative with the reaction system, some of the dialogs are very funny... overall 5/5 hope to see chapter 3 of this great game...

the game is hard to control with the keyboard. like many other flash games. the keys hang and hardly change once they are pressed. some systems handle the keys properly. those are the ones voting high rating. others might vote low. i guess this is the result of programming the flash using old AS2 method (ie polling the keys). instead, i wish all new flash games would use the new event handling routine for reading keyboard button strokes.

I love this game and would give it a 5/5. I can't compare it to Final Fantasy as unfortunately I haven't played anyone, please forgive me! I have played shining force though and this seems to be based on it-ish, although it is definitely original to me. Can't wait until chapter 3 is released!

SPOILER: 1st key: in Social Fox's Tomb (after killing Moric the first time return where he was and there'll be the entrance to Social Fox's Tomb) ; 2nd key: in a hidden chest in Tainted Grotto L2, just south of where you defeated the Saviors ; 3rd key: 10% chance to be dropped by the zombies in Canonia (if you have killed all of them but didn't get it, leave Canonia then return) ; 4th key: given by Gope in the Goznor inn if you had spared him at the Gem Mine keep this comment alive! SPECIAL SWORD Defeat the dragon and take "Burial Sword" in Social Fox Tomb. Keep this going.

If you having trouble killing the zombie dragon. There is a easy way to defeat it if you use the Phonixdown to it. I bring 6 of the feather and i defeat it in "2round". 5/5

I also notice the game plays on very weird themes openly, like the attractiveness of beards, role of sexuality (and how women are treated), and whether prototypical RPGs repeat certain elements. It also focuses on the value of parents being in the home. Interestingly, while Deugan matures, Mardek seems to go in the opposite direction. I somewhat wonder if comic strip hero Brewster Rockit was the inspiration for Mardek...

So again, I would very highly rate this game among flash games on the internet. The developers did a masterful job, and the wit mocking 'generic' elements of RPGs from the game itself is in itself worth playing it for. My kudos to Pseudolonewolf (and whoever this Firequill person is he keeps talking about :P). I just don't like seeing it compared to early Final Fantasy games, particularly FFIII/IV, which I would classify as the best game ever made on any system.

I give this a 5/5, and it is one of the best flash games, hands-down, on the web - including Kongregate. Nevertheless, I wouldn't compare it to FFIII/IV. I'm guessing the developers actually got some of their inspiration from the early final fantasy games, or else maybe Shining Force. Still, FFIII/IV had special effects, catastrophes changing the whole scope of the map, mini-games, etc. While the Reactions stuff is innovative, FFIII/IV had the blitz, swordtech, etc. which used multiple such systems, with many main characters having their own requiring different timing or even Street-Fighter like combos (Blitz). And while the humor in this game is a point up on FFIII, it's the only point I could give. The plot, quests, depth of storyline, minigames, and gameplay is just not at that level - but then FFIII was way ahead of its time, and quite possibly better even than all the later Final Fantasy games.

A funny game. You start the game thinking, "oh, this is what final fantasy would look like if Beavis and Butthead were the heroes - and the developers" but then you realize after the initial sequence what genius of parody the developers have. It's really very good in playing the mock RPG, although you can see that later on even the developers have trouble playing that punch line as they get into the story. :D

and when openoing the chest in the gem mine, to the east(or is it west?)of the Gope crystal, it is'nt noticed by the game. looking at the map, you will see that it thinks, it is'nt opened.

There is an bug. Sometimes when beating chapter 1, and loading in chapter 2, nearly Mardek's whole invetory, is filled with copper rings!

Again, to fix the save bug go download the latest version of flash, even if you think you have the latest there was a small update to it fixing the problem .

well i found a very annoying bug, I not only lost my original chapter 1 save, but my chapter 2 save as well. I tried saving to a 2nd slot but it never seemed to save. When I died I had no save files at all, not even the one I loaded to create my chapter 2 game.

ummm... it is just me or the items in the shops (ie. weapon shop) only have prices and no actual stats value like atk? i do see the red/green arrow and equal sign on each character to tell you its is better or worse than current equipment, but like by how much or like which one of the two items are better. youd have to buy it and see it
