you guys are only complaining about the text becuae other people are, and you you want to feel special. news for ya. you're retarded if you think the text is too much. Another stupid thing. The same people saying that there's rtoo much text are the same ones that say the storyline sucks. So you want MORE text? The text makes the game interesting and playable. Get over it, or go play a crappy pointless game somewhere else.

Text amount if fine - if you can't read, then the game isn't for you. Try playing the games that this game draws inspirations from.
I appreciate the increase in size! Now all the text is readable in item descriptions even on low quality.

To that person who keeps accusing me of ripping off Skies of Arcadia: I've never even PLAYED that game! There's also not anything called a "drillin" or "moonberry" in this game...
Also, people, nothing in this game is unbeatable IF YOU HAVE SKILL. You just have to be more strategic than "hit things repeatedly until they die".
But people of Kongregate... How would you feel if I DUMBED DOWN the game for you by reducing the PLOT (you're supposed to READ it and immerse yourself rather than just complaining about how long it takes to skip...), and making the bosses easier?
Would you like to be known as the group for which things needed to be specially DUMBED DOWN, hm?

Not done yet.. but the game is great. The script is very well written! I found myself laughing often.
Anyway, in future chapters you might want to decrease the number of random encounters... they're pretty monotonous and boring.

Are those generically ripped-off bosses beatable? I may lose my mind, make a copy of this program on my hard drive, and hack them out. I mean seriously, wtf???? Also, found an error where the generic armor boss doesn't appear and when he says text, his name is represented as 'error'.

the games too freakin hard and it takes forever to level up make a difficulty setting all this losing just ticks me off!!!!!!!

The text is pretty well written, and the game as a whole works pretty well. My only substantial complaint would be that the controls are annoying and inconsistant... sometimes you can click, other times you have to use 'x', enter and x are similar but different, 'z' does what we'd expect 'esc' to do, etc... chapter 1 actually had easier to use controls...

I think that is is too much text based.
I clicked 200 times(just estimate) just to get through to go to the mines. Shorten the text and give it more thought than just everyone auto maticaly knowing what to do.

By the way, at the end, the text reads: "Thus concludes this first chapter of the Tale of Mardek!" Shouldn't it be second? I suppose this is the first really huge one but anyway, yeah, I suppose you might want to fix that. Or not. Whatever.

awesome game but can you hire the mercenary without paying like does he come later in the game cause hes in the inn and when you pay if you do does he stay like as a party member?

Is there a guide showing what weapons provide what combat reflexes?
Also, the combat reflexes seem a bit random.
