Hmm, but i wonder if there's going to be some features to prevent the overpowered-ness of the characters; for example in order to get mardek to learn as many reactions and passives, i unwittingly grinded him to level 50, resulting in the final boss being rather easy. If i load from that save while playing mardek 4, then im guessing the challenge would be greatly diminished eh? Seeing as i've "overlevelled".

hey this is a shout out to pseudo this game series is amazing no matter whatever anyone else says i haven't found a bad thing and i love the fact you did some spells/attacks where you hit left or right and it targets all enemies or friendlies although i didn't notice until the final battle in chapter 2 lol but yeah the only negative thing about it is you can't replay a chapter after beating it you have to move to the next or make a new save but still has so much value and i rate it a 10/5 i haven't seen many flash games with this much detail or quality and coming from one person (you) just makes it that impressive since a lot of good games require a team of guys who spent years trying to reach the level you have so keep going

haha, when i was fighting the world saviours, I confused bartholio, so then he "accidentally"attacked bernard, so then bernard counterattacked with "Heh" and ended up killing his own ally.

I love this series. Even though I am on my fourth play-through of this series it is still great. The music hasn't gotten annoying or boring and I keep finding new things. I plan to finally face Annihilator:Animus this time around.

@Tim: Or use the menu's map instead. It shows all treasure chests, including hidden ones. Also helpful (read: necessary) to find hidden pathways.

And of course I figure it out a minute after making a comment... *forehead slap* For those who may be as oblivious to the obvious as I am, the idol to Solak behind the switchable door is not just scenery. It is the level boss. eXamine it to get the fight to get the key. Makes me think that I should start examining plants and columns and things. :/

I feel like such a noob. I just started playing. I'm in a lower level (3rd?) of the Sun Temple, and I've come to a door that is "locked tight but there's a keyhole". I've wandered the Temple high and low, opened every treasure chest on the map, kill numerous monsters, and still haven't found a key. What am I doing wrong?

The only thing I don't like about this game is the difficulty in switching characters. Once I got out of the Solar Temple and started to assemble my team, I pretty much stuck with Elwyen, Gloria and Sslen'ck because any replacements for them are near-useless since they haven't been leveling up with Mardek.

I comepleted elewyn's survival tourney at lvl 25. Max out her SPR, learn requiem, Dolorous Dirge, Ballad of life, and then bring along four bottles of liquid ligtning to uses on the four Earth elemental types that you see there.

i think it highly unfair that fo the 6 crystals we know the location of 4 are in the lower continent (fengue? i cant remeber the name) and only 2 are in the upper continent (hadris?)

I am feeling quite annoyed right now (with myself and with the saving system): I have just realized that I have erased, without knowing it, my Mardek3 savestate while playing on Mardek2... I don't think I'll play MK3 again anytime soon.

There are 2 types of battles, those marked with blue exclamation points and those marked with red exclamation points. The blue battles are there for you to level up, get loot, etc if you want. The red battles are mandatory. Being able to hit z to skip the blue battles is a feature, not a glitch.

I really do love this series but this sucks hard. Playing a slow, detailed style for 2 weeks, 65hour save file. Open up Chrome to play for a bit and VOILA! 0 save files. I didn't clear history/cookies or anything. Anyone know what's up with this?

AARRG! I just cant beat Animus! At the start of each battle, Animus cast Soulstorm Alpha and then Ion Storm. After that all my alies are dead...

Hey Pseudo! I have to tell you that I love love love Love LOVE this RPG! I have been with the series since chapter 1 and I have to say that the story progression is friggin awesome! I only really play RPG turn based style games if the story is truly something worth pursuing and this game has left me wanting more! Very few games do that for me and I must say you are an epic gaming genius. :D

If you use Solaar's resurrect on an undead enemy it does MASSIVE damage. This is pretty helpful when battling the Dracleon.

This game is frikkin awesome. My laptop's backlight broke (GASP), robbing me of this awesome game. But as is not wont to happen to me, hooking it up to a big-ass TV solves the problem (YAY), and gives a larger play-screen!

I love these games. Pure genius. I also like how you start out with pathetically weak party members. Adds to the challenge, and makes me want to smash my computer. If I may ask, do you make all the sprites and animations from scratch, or do you have some awesome generator for it? Either way, this game is very nicely done.

Anyone know why's the game suddenly unresponsive to my keyboard? It was working for mardek chapter 1 and 2, and then after i finished chapter 2 it stopped working for all mardek games o.o
Im using google chrome, and yes my flash player version is up to date.

There is a grammar mistake when you are talking to legion about what the afterlife was like, the depressed purple soul was talking and he says that the god gave of this air of gloominess when it should say he gave OFF this air of gloominess. Just pointing it out to make the game a tiny bit better.

I haven't played that much of this game (started the second dungeon), but I'm already loving it. If I had one complaint, it would be the fact that phoenix feathers don't auto target KO'd characters. Most RPGs I've played auto target KO'd characters when you use a revive item, so it would be nice to have so I don't accidentally waste one on a self target.

I find it horrible that none of the Mardek in the top 5 RPG games on Kongregate, it pains me at the idiots who come to the second and third games and rate them down because they are actually long and actually have a plot you need to play the other games to understand. These games shouldn't be compared to these short little other "games" on Kongregate, they are on a level with system games and honestly better then most of them I've played. It's a pleasure of mine to say we have a genius making free games like this here, but to the shame of being put down by the idiots who aren't willing to actually experience a game like this. Though I do enjoy some of the games on here that I'm done with in an hour, but none of them hold a candle to the Mardek games. These games make me want to turn every stone even if there was no badges on it, which says a lot for me and most other Kongregate users who feel the same. Can't wait to play all the future chapters.

Amazing game. I just finished up the first and second chapters, and I'm going to go ahead and give this one 5 stars as well, even before playing it. Everything about it is amazingly well thought out and put together. Music: Unlike most games, I didn't mute this ASAP and play my own music. The music and SFX fit the game and mood perfectly. Random battles: Not overdone, not too few, and the ability to skip fights before they start if you pay attention is simply genius. Well done! Gameplay: The fights aren't too difficult, but yet not easy enough to warrant skipping all form of strategy. Planning ahead offers a huge advantage, but you CAN rush headlong into most fights if you want to. I like the options this offers. Customization/skill system: I like this, a lot. There's so much to change, and you have to plan ahead when you change equipment, else you risk upsetting the balance between all your characters.
Overall, amazing series so far... thanks!

Pro Tip......get your hands on a topaz in the first dungeon. Give it to sharla. She learns a healing ability. Should help out a great deal.
