@jikurFokxnu you can "check" the bestiary in-battle by clicking a certain ally/opponent. It will tell you the stats, resistances, and items carried (aka items enemies may drop).

wish you could view the beastiary during battle. games starts a little slow, but then it really takes off. love the characters and dialouge

@windracket if you check back in the gem mines after the first quest in chapter 2, you would see that steele's "corpse" was gone. There might be so that someone came back and picked it up (which would me most unlikely, he was hated by everyone), or it could be that steele lost concousness after emelas lighning. Try to think a little logical before pointing non-logial things out.

I do not believe my eyes but the mystery man looks exactly like Steele and has some of the moves that Steele has!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! HOW IN HECK IS HE ALIVE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I forget if I've left a comment here after the 150+ hours I've spent playing the Mardek series, but in case I haven't: this (meaning the Mardek trilogy, but especially Chapter 3) is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, and I've played a LOT of JRPGs. I feel it stands toe to toe with the very Final Fantasy-style games it parodies--including the FF series itself--and even surpasses them in many ways; what it lacks in graphical wonder it makes up for tenfold in incredibly well-written humor and dialogue. It amazes me that this game/series was created in its entirety by just one individual, when it's honestly a more deep and enjoyable JRPG than many major console titles from serious gaming companies. Pseudolonewolf is one extremely, extremely talented individual and he should be very proud of his work. TL;DR: this game rules. Infinity/5, can't wait for the rest of the chapters =)

What I really like about Ballad of Balance is that if you have a confused ally and they attack themselves or another ally, they will make themselves (and any other allies confused or asleep) un-confused.

the draconian cresent's Quarry:Dragon is so useless. You only use it one more time for the rest of the game in the champion tournament in round 20

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Mardek: health: 100, no party members, bleeding, berseked and cursed and 160% of fire resistance
Bone Demon: health: 20000, haste
and i won because he was stupid enought to use Furious Flame and Raging Inferno all the time
i think i was lucky

@zang269 Yes, one of the pitch-black rooms with the Molesters in them has a Trilobite Warrior as well, which must be defeated to get into the Cambria Arena.

when i beat the arena the part of the Psychosomatic Exhaustion badge awarded for that wasn't ticked off. I told kongregate about this and they were kind enough to award me the badges. Unfortunately I have yet to beat either of the superbosses which is a shame considering how big a fan of the series I am. I have the badge but I don't feel like I've earned because, well, I haven't. I won't really consider myself to have gotten that badge until I have beaten the superbosses. But they're so difficult!

I love this game, but playing snes games on a emulator has spoiled me, I keep hitting space and expeecting everything to speed up, still, this is probably the best seris on Kongregate, if not online in general

What I really like about this game is that the protagonist isn't the omnipotent, all-knowing invincible hero you usually see. He has his "dim" moments and, rather than nearly all protagonists, he would rather be a follower more than a leader. It's the little things like that that sets this game apart from all the other extremely-long RPGs.

AH! I just got Dreamstone #5. Emela's the Water Gua *doesn't reveal too much plot info*!?!? So that means that I have to fi *changes mind* her to get the water cry *stops*!? NOOO!

@madscientist13 When you enter the room, look on your left for a "missing wall" Walk into this. When you are fairly close on your map to the green dot, alternate trying to walk to the right and down. You should eventually be able to continue right and come face to face with the green dot (the Trilobite Warrior) Also, if you go all the way down on this secret path, and follow it the way most people would (walking until you hit a dead end), you will find a treasure.

OK... I've spent ages trying to do this, can anyone tell me how to get to the green dot in the pitch black area of the dark temple?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is there a REAL difference between curse and silence other than the fact you have different resistances to each one and need a different item/skill to heal it? They both block you from using any magic. Can anybody tell me?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
NOoooooooo my computer crashed! I lost about 26 hours total of all 3 chapters.... I finally completed chapter 2 again in about 5 1/2 hours ... On to chapter 3!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is sad, apparently you have to attack your old friend from Chapter 2. Except Mystery Man, who cares about that bad guy?
If Chapter 4 is ever being done, I do wonder what happens to those two. I miss them as my allies, tired of baby-sitting these new ones I have. Deugan and Sheila are alright though, I'm glad Zarc (the mercenary) is back too.

Epic game, 5/5, at the beginning don't like it, now it's one of my favourites. By the way i have just a question:
Why the movements of the citizens are so irritating? :))
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"I know the only magic between you two would be to restore hit points or status, so I'm not bothered." I think that would be funny on a t-shirt.

Lol, im doing a solo run (just mardek), and im going in to chapter 3 as lvl 25, with 310 battles; 912 kills and 0 deaths :D

This game is perfect. I just finished playing the game, and it took me 346 hours and 49 minutes of playing time to finish, not counting all the time deaths, looking for help online, and planning what to do next. My favorite thing about it is that it has a lot of side quests, a good story, a lot of humor, and always at least one more reason to keep playing. I played without the music, do I can't comment on that. I found this game scrolling though the list of badges I hadn't gotten, and I stumbled upon the rat farmer badge in MARDEK 1. With nothing better to do, I tried it out. I didn't really like how short the first chapter was, and when I found out there was a second, I thought 'Let's hope it has badges.' I tried it, expecting it to be stupid. Needless to say, it was amazing. I eagerly started the third chapter two weeks later. Finishing it took about three months, but I finally finished everything there was to do. 5/5

To be honest; I hate this game.
So much characters, so much side-quest, so much equipment, Irrevelant walkthrough, lots of "mindgames" (Dreamstone 3 reminds me of Amela, I actually miss her but just because she is level 20 and equipped perfectly, unlike the others)
