THe enemy has their spawn point beyond the map, its how they stock their troops for counter, but it is not a bug having them shoot from off-screen. As for the best army, there is none, they are all equall however the red army is easiest for beginners.

A really easy tactic is to use your meteor at the beginning of battle to hit the opponent's hero. It'll cause him to rush at you, no matter how big your army is.

one very very very important improvement:
rally points for the units. If i set all my guys to go to a certain point, the NEW ones should also head there, not stand around near the castle. There is a LOT of useless clicking telling the same groups to go to the same place over and over just so the new ones head there, too. Just set their destination on the last clicked one for their unit type. That would add that 5th star, imho.

possible improvements:
1. Castles should make some profit each turn, now there is no need except mana to hold them and the best way to grind is to seat and wait for the attack.
2. We shuold be able to improve defense abilities of a castle (traps, spikes, archers, whatever)
3. There should be a difficulty difference between an enemy with 2 or 10 castles (economy, units, etc.).

Too easy, but a great game. Got all cards in a few hours. Still a great improvement over the past few. I liked that it was combat centric instead of using the arrows like in the last one. Definately got more epic.

Too easy, but a good idea and a good game overal, cards seem to be easy, just dont loose a fight with the first guy, and it seems any combination works. Stratagy is a must. Early on my hero can tank them so just leave him there. full troops bumrush.

yar Stev0 had a good plan that I beat the trials with with this: "rekojssl. Lots of units and the invincibility card... just bumrush him (send everything at once) once you have full troops. Best ones are the ones the developer suggested which are mermaids, dwarfs, phantom armor, and minotaurs. I chose succubus and centaurs to go with them. Spells, you can choose whatever you want except you need invincibility and comet shoot. that's about all there is to it."

Needs some refinement, particularly better troop control and better card descriptions. I have no idea what special abilities some of my cards had unless it was really obvious in battle (like the cannon). Troops need options for aggressive (attack anything that attacks you or comes near), defensive (guard your spot, don't move), and something for grouping units together, so you don't have to press 1-7 to move your army. Oh, and the ability to autosend units that have just respawned to the frontlines, although the grouping different kinds of units together option I just mentioned will take most of that irritation away.

there are 2 kinds of people complainting about how bad the game is: people who play 1 battle, and think they'll never win, and people who actually finish the game, and see how fing easy it really is. guys, just shut up and play the game, and if you don't like it, don't play it!

Oh yeah, and keep in mind you still get money/xp when you lose a fight; so don't think you have to win every single one, especially early on. Losing a defense will cost you, but losing on attack doesn't mean much.

its ok but its not epic war in epic war u didn't use cards u used an arrow tower which u can upgrade u actually had mana to use and units that use mana to summon with and this has nothing to do with the storyline of epic war 1 and 2. SO PLZ CHANGE THE TITLE!!!

A lot of people have commented on the counter-attacks that occur as you damage the enemy castle. Simply put: use some tactics. Early on, when my army wasn't great, I did this: I had only zombies and centaurs attacking castle, while hero, minotaurs, and frost giants waited nearby. Soon as the counter-attack hit, centaurs retreated, and the rest of the army beat up on the counter-attack. You can also use Skill cards; Frost Trap and Lightning Bolt can decimate counter attacks, and the x2 damage + invincibility cards let you power through a counter-attack without caring.

GREAT tip, once u get sapper bomb (or even a 3rd unit card), zerg the castle hard once its near 50%. That is, if ur 11/14 wait till 14, then hit hard. Also, try a character with the heal spell, saves u a lot of time and u don't have to wait till units respawn. Also...now if you kill a castle just as they enemy zergs ur ass, u get money as if you killed each unit! I got 25k gold in about 5 seconds this way.

I like it. Unexpectedly addicting. Haven't tried out the titan units yet, but they look nasty. The "cards" thing and the auto-spawn work well enough, as does the "new game plus" feature. You should probably fix the typo when your castle gets attacked though, when you get around to it.

OK, stop complaining that you suck at this game. First, pick the first guy. When you get the Phionex, upgrade it. Also upgrade the cannon and the flying women things.THERE IS LAG BECAUSE OVER 100 THINGs ARE ON THE SCREEN AT ONCE, STOP COMPLAINING!!! If you have a hard time at this, dont complain anr rate 1! I don't understand all these comments, this game is absurdly easy. Like, I lost my hero in the first battle due to a dumb mistake and still beat it handily and have never gotten close to losing my hero or having my castle hit since.

CPU is not playing fair and this makes the game unbalanced and frustrating. 1/5 for now... hopefully the gameplay issues will be fixed.
