This game pisses me off. The commands for a specific unit are not very responsive. I tell my hero to retreat and instead of doing it right when I tell him to, he keeps attacking a couple of times and then does it and a lot of the time that ends up killing him. The last level is ridiculous. You just finish getting rid of a wave of 80 and start attacking the castle and out pops another wave of 80.

Best troops and skills to use.
Troops:Witch, Centaur, Mermaid, Succubus, Black Knight, Ghost. Skills: Heal, Arrows, Small meteor, Hercules, Thunderbolt, Freeze Trap(I call it Ice Berg [:). You don't even need to use your Black Knight and Ghost to attack; just attack with the range units and have Hero sit by their side. Enemies won't be able to get through b/c Mermaid will push the enemies back, Succubus make them fly burning, Archers and Witch takes care of the front while Mermaid sets for another attack.

Cave 1 - 3 be prepared for 1 demon after general kill - kill demon and rush the castle
Cave 1 - 3 (easy with full developed units, hero and spells)
Cave 4: play very defensive (full army count/stay in your castle/lure the general with comet) - be prepared for 3 demons at a time - after slaying all 3 - rush the castle
Cave 4: (some skill and luck needed with full developed units, hero and spells)
Cave 5: just wait until your units count is full - attack with full army - try to rush the castle with all you have - use spells, when you are next to castle (easy with full developed units, hero and spells)

i beat cave 5 with noob unit :D
like yeti, dragon rider, succubus, mermaid, phantom, and centaur and my skil are phoenix, comet, heal, and freeze

If there was something like every phase you would get a thousand for every city you conquer,this game would be the best epic war game ever.Still 5/5

thunderjutsu mentioned who has the most mana at lvl 30. so i guess the green is the best hero. however i recommend using him later as you need to use the others to unlock all the cards. so if you leave him last, you can then do what im doing and use him to do the caves.

I on the otherhand like that he put a little walkthrough up to help those who have difficulty. If you wanted the challenge you shouldnt have read it, but for some people it was probably very helpful.

I'm all for a fast forward button, but when I play the game usually lags pretty quick, so a fast forward button wouldn't do much for me because the game would be slow anyway. Just sayin'

if you dont "fight auto" you will get experience for the battle. Can be helpful on your first game to get that extra 100000 gold

@Shevchenko69. Why not? If you use the auto function and lose, that's just means you have to win another fight, which would be the same thing as defending manually. But if the auto fight wins, that's one less fight to do. Seems like a zero risk situation to me.
