The key to winning (esp. at later levels) is to save your big spells until the enemy sends the hord (after you hurt their castle), then smash them with your big AOE spells.

Units (including the hero) auto advance too much when there's enemies nearby. There should be a set patrol that they'll run forward from where you told them to stand. It got kind of annoying when my hero kept running ahead while I was organizing people

the best strategy is too fire a comet at the enemy leader when u have a good amount of people on the field. this will lure him and make him try to attack you! but he ends up dying anyways it helps on every mission and ends the battles quickly.

it gets to stupid near the end of battles if there base is almost dead they send like 10 of there best units+ 60 of the weaker ones

I don't know if luck is really in it. I used mermaids, gnomes, centaurs, minotaurs, phantom armors, and used invincibility and beat it twice using those. The strategy is to move your hero in the middle and hold off the goblins etc. until your army reaches max then move all your troops forward when you get near the invincible goblin use invincibility and he will simply get knocked back while you destroy the castle.

I've read a LOT of CoT 5 strategies in the comments section looking for help on how to beat it. But when i DID beat the CoT 5, I hadn't used any of the exact strategies everyone gave. TO THOSE TRYING TO BEAT CAVE OF TRAILS 5. The uber goblin can't be killed. Take suggestions from other strategies and this one, but don't use that exact method, make it your own. I suggest succubus and definitely MERMAID, maxed. I have tried a LOT, and I have found out that LUCK IS THE DETERMINING FACTOR. Your strategy might be a winning one, but maybe you waited a tiny bit too long or somethings went wrong. The key to beating CoT 5 is persistence and after each failure, analyzing the battle and making tweaks to your game plan to improve it. DON'T GIVE UP EVERYONE WHOSE TRYING TO BEAT CAVE OF TRIALS 5!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh, finally got to the caves and wow. Lots of baddies, I did well starting out. But then they kept coming and lag kicked in. I would press 2 then click on the screen to move the armies, but the pressing of 2 didn't take. Seems the large amount of baddies and the lag make some clicks vanish into thin air. This is a HUUUUUGGGGGGGE problem with a game where strategy and speed are required. Lowered a point for that :(

You can't beat the Uber goblin. He's got infinite hitpoints. The key is you need to find a way to knock him back before he gets a chance to attack. I did it with lord of shadows, witch, succubus, knight, shadow armor and centaur. If you're lucky (and it seems luck does have something to do with it), once you have everything summoned make a move on the castle, keep knocking him back eventually you'll get to the castle and start damaging it.

guys, its not that hard, you just have to beat that first battle. then its really easy :D u get new cards, level up ur old ones. i maxed out a couple races its really quite fun :P

The first two were far superior to this. Yeah, some new features, but it's not the same. Where's the turret that I control? Why do my units not go where I want them to? Why does my hero charge into battle even after I put him at the back on idle when he was nearly dead?

The game's a little imbalanced at the beginning, when the opponent can send out 30+ units and you're limited to 10 plus your hero. Should prolly put a cap on the amount of units the enemy can put out and make it scale as the game progresses.

Hercules strength begins once the red thing disappears, and it lasts for how many seconds it says on the card where it says "Power:"

To be completely honest, it is a fun game, and I agree it is beatable, but the enemy ALWAYS starting with full population, a higher population than you can have I must add, is a bit rediculous. I'm going to rate it a 2/5 because of lack of game balance, other than that well done.

athena protection makes your guys completely invincible (take no damage what-so-ever) for a few seconds. Be warned, units can still be blown into the air or knocked back.
