in the beginning start with the fire ball card. Then you just wait till the opponent attacks you. After that they should all die because of the hero. Then you use FireBall at the opponents hero and they fight. Then you should just make your army attack the base.

that's not true, i kept doing fight auto and i almost always defended myself. i guess it's because of good cards.
***Here's a trick for a devastation. I'm only going to give you one hint though. It's to kill or destroy anything invincible or super strong.
Get the 2 with most population (goblin is one of them), max upgrade both invincibility and Hercules. When you have a max army of goblins and ____, use both hercules and invincibility. Your army will destroy anything in its path.
Now, there are other things to create a devastating deck but I'm not going to go there for now.

Okay, the Updates changed really really much to the better side ... only thing bothering me is that when you choose "fight auto" while beeing attacked, you will loose with 70% chance, while the enemy when attacked nearly always defends himselfs (in the phase where opponents attack each other) .... it's just boring to fight every automatic attack fight after a while ... 50-50 would be nice ^^

anyone know a good way to beat 4th cave i have allspells and all units except dark lord and 2nd to final ice/wateer guy

To beat the invisible goblin on CoT5 use ranged units like mermaid and centaur to push it back while succubi and witches attack the base. The Invincibility spell is useful too.

wow embarrassing i defeated cave of trails 5 on my first try... not a very good boss didnt even kill any off my troups

The fight auto option kinda fails. I lose my territory when I can win without pushing anything or by spamming Forward from the beginning of the battle, and without using any spell. Also, I kinda find it annoying that when I want my units to stay close to the castle, they always go wandering off when an enemy comes close. But else than that, nothing much to say, it's a great game overall.

4 da 5th cave just get stay at the castle until u have all ur units den attack so da goblin doesnt have a chance to pick off ur units

fifth boss, transparent goblin ...... do not use any bomb type of weapon that let enermys fly, just keep attacking it until you u move to the castle, then destroy the castle(also attacking the transparent goblin.

CAVE IS EASY TO BEAT, JUST LET YOUR ALLY STAY AT YOUR CASTLE UNTIL THERE IS EVERYTHING, THEN ATTACK, PHOINEX SKILL IS GOOD

I beat first three caves then came number 4. I killed the hero and Titan fairly easy but lost my hero and titan as well. All is going well and the castle is half dead. Then 2 Water Titans/Blue Dragons come out and completely annihilate all my forces. I kill one and 3/4 of the other but its too late and i lose :(

I've earned tons of cards but can only equip the first ten (or so) I earned. The rest do not even appear as equippable.

My personal strategy for the fifth Cave of Trial is emphasizing stunning ranged effects: Centuar Archer, Mermaid, Witch, Fire Succubus, Frost Giant and Magic Cannon, with Comet Shoot and Healing Wave as skills. As soon as the Comet charges, I fire it at the enemy hero (assuming the goblin isn't there yet) then advance my units. Drawing him out means you can pick him off fairly easily without suffering too much damage. Once the enemy hero is head, tell all your units to advance and attack the castle. The Yettis should act as a buffer between the goblin and your ranged units. The four ranged units should stun the goblin enough to render it paralyzed against your units, with your cannons occasionally blowing the goblin into the air as well. The only downside to this approach is that the goblin can be blown behind your lines. If this happens too often, try switching out your cannon for a heavy melee unit or a useful skill card. I hope this helps those who are struggling with this cave.

Seems how the classes are based on elements the witch who makes lightning should be fire seems how lightning is the "Cold-Blooded Fire".

Out of all the games on Kongregate, this one is the only one that doesn't load regularly. Been having problems with it for awhile, but now it doesn't work at all. Too bad, since it is a lot of fun X-<

Both incredibly fun and incredibly addicting! The little details added around the game truly set this apart visually: the way the enemy hero's sword creates sparks as it drags along the ground behind him, or the way the Lighting Bolt casts a shock wave (Iron Giant, anyone?).
One gripe I have with the game at this point is that I have to get my hero to level 30 again (which can take up to the very last castle) to effectively attempt and defeat the Caves of Trial. Any earlier, and I can't maximize my mana, and any later, I start over at level one.
What I'd like to see in an update or squeal would be a difficulty setting, or a tiered system (win as a hero on easy, attempt on medium); after you max your cards, you essentially ensure yourself victory.
But all this would be simply icing on a delicious and moist cake (chocolate, of course). Epic War 3 easily takes the title of best game this month!
