LOL! I waited with the cave of trials 5 untill I had all cards, and most of them maxed out, shivering with fear of this apparently hard level I loaded it - and found the by far easiest level in the game... I didn't even get 100K money from it, so fast was it over... Had Dragon Rider, Mermaid, Witch, Succubus, Dwarf engineer and centaur equipped. Had comet, heal, arrows, hercules, athena and freeze for spells. Didn't get much use of Hercules and Athena though, since they only charged up once (was only lvl 5 too). Just played around with my units back and forth, untill around 2/3 was in, then sent all forward, and won the level no trouble. The famed invisible goblin never even got free of its own castle...

I was expecting the worst when going to COT5 but I have to say it was the easiest of the COTs. I had the Witch, the Mermaid, the Succubus, the Centaur , the Dragon Rider and the Knight equipped. I used the Phoenix , the Freeze and the Hercules spells most and it went smoothly. Maybe lots of range weapons count on this one.

beat it twice and all 5 caves. was having trouble with the caves then i used xlightningx's setup with 1 exception. instead of witch i used dragon rider and i couldnt use phoenix strike but it didnt really matter, i never found out what happened to the invisible goblin, after i had all units ready by my base and i rushed and used all magic it look less then 30 seconds to take down their castle and the invisible goblin was nowhere to be seen, great game by the way 5/5

so i was totally about to kill some ones castle when a revenge wave came, it killed all my units but a goblin and my goblin finished off the castle! haha

and also, revenge waves are NOT unfair. Because the computer doesn't use skill cards, it's a way of balancing the game.

To maximise the amount of money you can earn make sure that the enemy factions can only attack you (ie leave one of each alive but bordered by your territories)

It would be cool if you could select some of your units by dragging your mouse (similar to the rectangles you can make on your desktop) so that you can move separate groups, one is retreating while the other is forwarding. I also think that the key 0 (zero) is too far to reach if you both use the mouse and keyboard. I would prefer using Shift, S, F or C. Why not allowing the player to customize the controls?

hades. those are revenge units. if you listen, you will hear a harn before every revenge wave. when you hear the horn, use one of your skill cards to take them down fast.

i use centaur archer,1 fire titan,dwarf enginer,witch,mermaid and fire succubus
i also use 2xdmg skill, protection,healing wave,freeze trap,comet shot(small meteor)phoenix strike
u must push the invisible goblin away of the castle or else u cannot defeat the castle.the invisible goblin have billion health.....=)

@Aeron18: I agree re ranged weapons and comet but disagree re phoenix, because it always warped the invisble goblin straight to my home castle. The athena protection spell came in useful, though.

Ah yes, Epic War has always been a favorite of mine since the first one. Like the new changes made in Epic War 3, but for me, Epic War 2 was harder, because it was more difficult to deal with the revenge wave that came after a specific level (13 and over I believe). The bosses were also harder. Though, for the King of Hell, a bug happened and he didn't attack...(Finished Epic War 3 at Newgrounds)
For the Cave of Trials, I recommend hitting the Titan Units with ranged units (use Athena protection and Hercules Strength to quickly take it down). Pheonix spell can take care of the regular units For the 4th one, only deal with one titan at a time and only deal with one revenge wave. And the last one, is a little different. Just keep pummeling the enemy units to keep that invincible unit from slaying all your units (Athena's protection would really help)
