you should star with the red hero its easier then, but for the Caves of Trial its better topick the green one: more mana

Thanks to Br34ky and others have now beaten CoT5; one adjustment (thanks TheNeCafe and httpisawesome) use Rain of Arrows instead of comet - it is more efficient at getting rid of the enemy's cannon fodder and does not disturb the invisible goblin as long as he is in his original spot

IMPORTANT! if you want to win eaaly on the revenge waves use the spells athena and the ice attack-freeze. use ice first and after they thaw use athena, i usually beat all waves with this combo.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! The recipe to win cave 5, you have to choose the green general. the troops: Centaurs, Succubus, Mermaids, Witches, goblins and the black knight. Spells: Athena, Phoenix, Hercules, Comet and Healing spell. In cave 5, wait until all troops are loaded, then attack with the troops, NOT the spells. When the transparent goblin attack, give him a lightining bolt and keep pressing foward so the troops will be attacking the castle and keeping the goblin paralized. THE GOBLIN NEVER DIE! to kill him, destroy the castle.

Honestly having an invincible goblin that can kill your castle with one hit in the Cave of Trials Level 5 is just poor game design. Big let down.

In answer to the question of controlling your troops all the troops on your side have an awareness zone which is triggered by enemies coming into that area. It's a built in challenge. You have to position your troops so they don't charge off but instead stay in formation. If you can master that it can be very powerful. Your hero is the most reactive. Use the keyboard numbers to position the troops where you want them and keep adjusting them using their individual numbers. You can also use this technique to create sacrificial troops (zombies are good for this) who stay behind and get slaughtered by the revenge waves whilst the rest of your army retreats to heal up. Remember your armies heal over time. Hope this helps. Give it a plus if useful! Cheers all.

wish hero would retreat as soon as i command instead of slashing all enemies on board BEFORE retreating he dies everytime!
