My biggest complaint: Heroes do not respond to a retreat command quickly enough. They complete the attack sequence they are engaged in before responding to the retreat command. This is very frustrating. Thanks for an otherwise entertaining game.

i have found a bug i think. when u r in a battle and than surrender, the troops from the surrendered battle remain in the new battle but they dont attack. just pointing it out. awesome game awesome series, played everyone of em

Grindfest achievement is checked after the next level you play (just did 1 in normal), maybe there should be a check after leaving the upgrade menu. ...
I agree that shield is overpowered, most levels work by accumulating mana till max, then keeping invulnerability up constantly. Only the final challenge on epic doesn't give you the time for that, but even that i did by shielding whenever possible. ...
Levels 14 (bomb) and 13 (goblin) are good for idling for money: 14 plays itself once you're strong enough to kill the bomb with a simple assault, in 13 you can simply slay masses of goblins constantly sending in strong troops (maybe add a tower although it's lame). Let it play a while, finish level (shield ftw.), go crazy in the upgrade menu.

This game is absolutely amazing. One thing though, I think it should show how long your Shield and Rage spell lasted, like showing a countdown timer or something.

i had to stop a round because i had to go eat and now that ive started a new round all of my enemies units are there as they were before i quit :-/

ok ppl, if you also get this error, rate 1/5 untill repaired: if i save the game, close my browser, and later on start again, i click continue, and half of my upgrades are GONE, WTFWTFWTF this sucks, 1/5 until repaired

Good game.
Tips for players:
-for difficult levels use Stop and Invulnerability
-When you get new heroes use them instead of the original hero.
-Using titans are cool and fun. Sometimes it's best to charge the castle with regular units.
-Phantom ghosts and Sylphs are cool.

So....neat way to cheese your way to upgrades after you beat lvl 12. Once Lord Baal is unlocked, simply start the mission and then surrender. You will automatically get gold according to what difficulty you chose. Normal = 12,500 Hard = 30,000 Epic = 60,000.
Just keep starting the mission and surrendering and you'll have all your upgrades in no time!! :) This might have been posted before, but I just definitely stumbled across it a few minutes ago so figured I would share :D

you can win level ten without a titan just make sure you upgrade all your units to atleast lvl3 then assault rigth away

Have enjoyed all these games -- just a comment on managing player experience. I don't think a player should ever get fifteen minutes into a grueling level and realize (by reading comment thread) that there is invincible foe they cannot destroy, because they didn't happen to buy the particular counters that work against them. And then wonder if they will need to replay old levels over and over to get the funds to get that counter. The black imp level is the first this happened to me on, but I get the impression there are others. I don't mind losing because I stacked up too heavy on melee, or physical attacks, or etc. But not because I didn't buy some spell or unit because another looked more interesting/fun.

The "meteor blast" spell is what i use, two hits kills him with the spell being at level 1, sometimes i get it one. no idea why =P

The Epic War series is one of the best series of internet games around. Sometimes even surpassing console games in quality! Epic War 4 is no exception as it is evolving in a Final Fantasy-esque fashion of troop upgradability. I give this game a 5/5. The Home Menu could have better art but the game itself is awe-inspiring.

Needs an auto-save, I lost hours of data because I didn't know I had to manual save and the game never offers you to save. At least put in a "Save and Continue" button after completing a round

I think the game would be much more challenging if u remove skill shield, and reduce monster strength, later on epic levels there are no low level monsters, only titans, so all come up to skill shield and no other tactic.
Btw the game itself is great. Tnx for effort and hours of fun lots of work put in this game.

The Black Goblin is probably the easiest boss.... I killed him in one hit. The way to kill him is by using meteor blast, and upgrade it to 5. The way to get enough money, is your job to figure out, although there is one easy way.

every time they release a new one it gets worse!!!! where is the big catapult? where is the ability to choose which units you send out, i dont want those damned goblins!!!! With every new Epic war the best elements are removed and replaced with bull shit! there is noooooo skill needed to play this game at all. you dont do anything but watch your units build! 0/5

"The game was meant to be played how it was made" - Must be one of the top 10 most ignorant thing to ever de uttered. That does not change the fact that there is improvements to be made and the dev should heed the words of the players and improve the game such.
Granted, one can not make everyone happy but it is important to have in mind that the game is not made to be played by other people.
The game is ok, but as other mentioned it is a little slow paced at times.

@colbut2: ur wrong, the golden angel can be killed by using arrows and the dragon only! try to send the dragon, when he is 20 secs away from entering the angels reach cast berserc, 10 secs later cast stop and send popo (his spikes do also damage), then let ur archers rush the angel and when berserc mode is gone, retreat, cuz 10 secs later the stop mode will also end. only let the dragon continue to fight, he wont be able to retreat in time anyways. do that 1-3 times and the angel should be done. but be aware, there will be a 2nd angel directly after defeating the 1st one, but u dont need to kill this one cuz if u rush to the castle with all ur units and then cast stop, ull be able to destroy the castle in time.
