The very definition of grind. I appreciate the effort which went into the game's creation but dear lord is it boring.

although it would be awesome to see all the unit's appearances change with upgrades, I wouldn't blame u for not addin that. But it surely u could make it so heroes change.
still 4/5

Ok, the giant demon has too many HP. It's not HARD, it's just endurance. I should not have to sit here and wait half an hour or more on a single level that I can win with ease, it's just mindless time consuming.

... Another epic war game, and yet another game that's nearly identical. I feel as though we have been asking for the same thing for a while now as improvements and little changes. I won't bother trying to get the last badge as epic war 3 got so boring with the same gameplay. If you want people to really enjoy the game, you need to bring more to the table on expansions. Take a note from learn to fly / learn to fly 2. Huge gap in the two but both great.

i hate this blasted music! great game. only thing missing is a volume button. theoptions only had sound effects. after awhile, the sound gets annoying.

All truth be told, this is not a very good game. You are given very minimal control over your units, with the retreat button not working when you are overwhelmed by enemies, upgrades are much too expensive, and battles become too repetitive for the game to hold the player's interest. While the idea of heroes having longer and longer respawn times may seem like a good one, once you are overwhelmed by enemies, you have no chance of your hero surviving, due to the broken retreat button. It is also rather annoying that the enemies do not need to have a hero to spawn troops. While I don't hate the concept, much improvement needs to be done, such as being able to break away from combat, adding enemy heroes, and lowering the costs of upgrades, as well as suggestions made by other players. If this game didn't have the Badge of the Day, I wouldn't even be touching it.

I would ask that you add ASWD controls as alternatives to the arrows. Playing this on a laptop is tedious when right handed to control the mouse, and then move your hand just to scroll the map. Especially in the middle and later areas of the game.

Was hoping the AI/control had improved over Epic War 3. Both have not. Units can take far too long to respond to commands, and are far too apt to suddenly take off across the entire board based upon a single enemy unit coming into sight. Especially annoying since I prefer to go afk for while waiting for the mana bar to fill.

@foopig the retreat and march buttons only move one unit at a time so you have to select them first by clicking on their icon. if you select those commands after you have a unit selected i am sure that they will work.

oooooooooo...I played the game until i finished 13 levels but forgot to save and now i restart from level 1...Man you should really make an auto save the game is good but without the save it makes me crazy to start allover gain..i played really long time and maxed all the upgrades and now i restart from 0...please make an auto save or even a save reminder which will appear after finishing any level to remind us to save our progress

Very hard to find a previous level you want. The tiny numerals are hard to see against the background. It doesn't help that the levels are randomly scattered around.1

No mute button? The music is nice and all but I don't think my sleeping family members would like to hear me slaughtering armies in the early hours of the morning.

This is the only game on Kongregate, that I have seen, to have more than 50000 pluses in the top comments. This game is going on my favorite list just for that.

when upgrading spells its beneficial because the power increases more than enough to make up for the increase of mana cost
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One thing that seems a bit off to me is that spells get more expensive as they go up in level. Which makes them a negative, becuase they take longer to use. So it can be a disadvantage to level them, as there's no way to choose a lower level version once you do so.

Here is an update i would like to see, the speed of your unit that way we can see how good it really is. + if you agree

Wow, this might be the most boring, buggiest "game" I've ever played on Kongregate. It's like watching paint dry. Extremely slow drying paint. That keeps falling off the wall and having to be repainted.

"if you feel the game doesnt require skill, try hard and epic mode."
All that this game requires is time. Time to regenerate mana for assault with a shield buff. Half of a castle goes down after a single raid, then fall back and wait for mana again...

Dull. Clearly the designer doesn't play test this very thoroughly. It's a pretty flat, banal game. Annoyed there's a frickin' reward for it today.

Hated the catapult battle system... this one is by far the BEST! Love the auto spawn and more characters... If you make a 5th, don't make the catapult battle system, if anything make it a spell like on this one! Can't wait to see the next game! P.S. They are NOT boring! This is better than 'learn to fly 2' and the majority of the 'top' games!

It's fun to keep destroying places over again. Why? Not for the money, no. It's more for watching little goblin pieces fly all over the place.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Godammit, do these units have any kind of common sense? When I say retreat, I mean retreat NOW. Not after you finish fighting the enemies, but now. And when I say stay put, I mean stay put until I give my next order. Not go wandering off by yourself when an enemy comes near. It's even more annoying when my ranged units try to fight off 50 enemies by themselves while my melee units fall back or stay put.
It seems like the only way to prevent some dumbass from going Leeroy Jenkins by themselves is to reissue the retreat/stay put command every 2 seconds, and even that's not foolproof. And it really takes time and attention away from doing more useful things, like casting spells or assessing the battle situation.

Sweet, thanks megafailz..I was getting aggravated because I thought I must be missing it somewhere. Something like maybe the hard part about hard mode is just finding it, lol.

"sir, it looks like the enemy army consists of tanks, dragons, horseman, and one large guy with a cannon on his back. Shall i sound the retreat?" "no, release the goblins"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Seriously, what's the difference between 2 and 3? The bugs are stille there, all intact...
(Well, actually thanks for the hotkeys)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The main thing I don't like about this game is that if you leave your army alone for five seconds without micromanaging, they'll have torn apart your entire carefully planned out strategy without any assistance from the enemy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I absolutely love the auto-spawning monsters. It was so annoying in the other games to have to spam a unit over and over.
