heres the easiest way 2 beat the dragon lair level......as soon as u sumon ur heros just charge ..since most of the units are weak u can easily take them out.....i actually beat the level b4 the dragon even appeared....oh and make sure 2 use beserk and rage spells....i just got valkerye hes one of the best units i have.....my units are:orangatan,mighty guardian,succubus,mad bull and forest hunter this is probably these r probably the best units in the whole game..... and this game seriously needs a 2x or 3x button 2 make the battles faster like in epic war 3....overall its better than epic war 3 and i like all the new game mechanics like the mana bar and the 3 heros..........best epic war game yet....

i can't seem to complete ape kingdom (etc) level. like this:
first, there's 5 yetis, then 5 stone throwers, 20 minotaurs and an endless amount of goblins, centaurs etc...

To everyone who is saying only 2 buttons work, the march and retreat buttons are for individual unit groups, for instance if you just want a constant supply of imps to hold back whatever is coming at you while waiting for your titans you can click on the imp button then press march. Same thing if you want just your hero to retreat while your monsters hold off whatever almost killed him.

I don't like how 1) You don't get to pick your locations you fight in like EW3, and 2) The order they're unlocked is all over the place, it doesn't make any sense, like in a line or something, you have to practically go hunting for the next level....

Alright for all those who are having trouble beating the Hell Sword Guy (Challenge #3), the most important thing you need is: 1) Shield Spell 2) Lord of Fire Titan.
The Titan is good because when he attacks, he goes right in the middle of the boss, and is on the other side then keeps attacking the and the of it. The Shield spell helps you get close enough to get in.
If you want to kill him quicker you can use the Beserk spell and send in the Great Diablos Titan to help since he also gets in close enough when he attacks. I send in some Pixies since they resist spells continued to heal my Titans to make sure they didn't die.
But seriously all you really need is the Lord of Fire Titan and patience to beat this guy (well the Sheld spell just to get in without taking damage too) ^o^ v

Awesome tip: Get the bonus money upgraded as much as you can then complete the highest level you can do easily and then keep upgrading the money powerup until level 5 and grinding is WAY easier. + if this helped.

If you need help beating level 16 on epic, don't use any titans but the fire lord. Just use fast units to slow him down and use TimeStop to stop him from getting within reach of your castle. Do NOT use shield, because it doesn't make your castle invulnerable, and since he can hit it from midfield, TimeStop is much more effective. Once he is dead (it might take a few tries) just assault his castle and fight for the win. Good luck!

You can kill the black imps/goblins with titans or the comet spell......but you dont need either to beat the goblin madness level. Not even on epic difficulty. Just get the fastest, but strongest troops you have and continually rush the castle and use shield accordingly when the black goblins attack.

For all of you people saying that the march and retreat buttons do nothing, you have to click on the picture of the unit on the bottom of the screen, them tell that particular unit to march forward or go back

Just to let everyone Know the Spell hotkeys are 1-6 and the Unit Hotkeys are Q-O (Which is Q,W,E,R,T,Y,U,I, and O) And A for All Units, Lastly P is For Pause.... This is all i could find out by myself.

My rating of the game just lost 2 starts due to the Challenge #1 (Epic). The real challenge you're playing here is not against the evil forces, but against your STUPID AI. =/

Also for challenge#3 you can rush fast units (were-tiger, heroes who ride horses) right under the boss and they won't get hurt. Getting the units under the boss accompanied with berserk and the spamming of rain of arrows, the boss will go down in around 10 minutes :D

Just a couple things I would add to number 5. Speed up buttons (x5, x10, x20). Faster map scrolling. A command for units to hold their ground and not advance, even with an enemy in range. Better unit AI and faster response to commands given (cancel attack animations when orders are given) Also, I really miss *controlling* the attack tower on my castle, that was what got me hooked on the series initially. I think some of the original features should be re-implemented and brought back. Some of the vintage features really were what made me fall in love with this series. Please +++ if you agree. How can I beat the Great Black Lord of Fire? I'm asking because I couln't kill it, I just used time stop skill and assault directly the enemy's castle without killing the boss and well...If you kill the boss you obtain extra-money.

Honestly. I'm sick of everybody knocking on this guy for charging up his sword to attack. Sure it's a little extreme, but what about Liono from the Thunder Cats? Or He-Man? Just saying, I don't care how long it takes, I don't want to be the poor goblin standing in front of him.
