Wow, this might be the most boring, buggiest "game" I've ever played on Kongregate. It's like watching paint dry. Extremely slow drying paint. That keeps falling off the wall and having to be repainted.

"if you feel the game doesnt require skill, try hard and epic mode."
All that this game requires is time. Time to regenerate mana for assault with a shield buff. Half of a castle goes down after a single raid, then fall back and wait for mana again...

Dull. Clearly the designer doesn't play test this very thoroughly. It's a pretty flat, banal game. Annoyed there's a frickin' reward for it today.

Hated the catapult battle system... this one is by far the BEST! Love the auto spawn and more characters... If you make a 5th, don't make the catapult battle system, if anything make it a spell like on this one! Can't wait to see the next game! P.S. They are NOT boring! This is better than 'learn to fly 2' and the majority of the 'top' games!

It's fun to keep destroying places over again. Why? Not for the money, no. It's more for watching little goblin pieces fly all over the place.

Godammit, do these units have any kind of common sense? When I say retreat, I mean retreat NOW. Not after you finish fighting the enemies, but now. And when I say stay put, I mean stay put until I give my next order. Not go wandering off by yourself when an enemy comes near. It's even more annoying when my ranged units try to fight off 50 enemies by themselves while my melee units fall back or stay put.
It seems like the only way to prevent some dumbass from going Leeroy Jenkins by themselves is to reissue the retreat/stay put command every 2 seconds, and even that's not foolproof. And it really takes time and attention away from doing more useful things, like casting spells or assessing the battle situation.

Sweet, thanks megafailz..I was getting aggravated because I thought I must be missing it somewhere. Something like maybe the hard part about hard mode is just finding it, lol.

"sir, it looks like the enemy army consists of tanks, dragons, horseman, and one large guy with a cannon on his back. Shall i sound the retreat?" "no, release the goblins"

Seriously, what's the difference between 2 and 3? The bugs are stille there, all intact...
(Well, actually thanks for the hotkeys)

The main thing I don't like about this game is that if you leave your army alone for five seconds without micromanaging, they'll have torn apart your entire carefully planned out strategy without any assistance from the enemy.

I absolutely love the auto-spawning monsters. It was so annoying in the other games to have to spam a unit over and over.

Me: I shall storm the castle on level 3 with my Goblins.
Game: Really? Well thats too bad because your enemy has two ghost sword warriors that kill all your goblins instantly
Least they got rid of the "enemy sends 5 million units if the castles health drops below 50% anymore.
Didn't they?

yay i beat stage 12 ^.^ unlocked epic mode, i bet i can at least beat level 1.... hehe this is easy level 2 here i.... wait.... wtf is that?

The problem is that the game isn't really so much strategy as it is mushing your units against the enemies. For all intents and purposes it might as well just have the entire thing run by the a.i. Also, the level difficulty spikes up rather oddly. The first five or so rounds were relatively easy, taking several minutes to complete. Then Ape Mountain has like a million gorillas and yetis guarding it's base. I haven't lost yet, but hte battle's been running on assault for like an hour now and their health is slowly being wittled away. There's a difference between "difficulty" and "delaying the inevitable to an obnoxious degree".

So on hard, am I supposed to get assaulted by a pack of over 40 mad bulls all at once? Kind've gets rid of the strategy aspect and makes you hope that you have mana/strong units to kill them...

Why the heck do we have to tell the new heroes to do something after the other ones just died? Like My whole army is in assault and my heroes are sitting by the castle just waiting.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
First hero's sword slash is the reason he gets killed more than any of the other heroes. EVEN the wizard doesn't die that much.

Me: omg finally I lost I've been fighting these guys for over an hour, i bet ill get like 50,000 for this! (5 seconds later) GRRRRAAAAAA ONLY 5000

8sighs* My big issue with this game, is it seems, well...automatic. Strategy isn't really a big deal for me, 90% of the time I can handle things by just waiting and assaulting. It requires a lot of replaying of older levels, too. If your stats are good...you just click assault and go get a beer. NOT a really fun game. But, it's a good timewaster.

The problem with this series is that it's tactical banality overshadows any strategic depth. While the variety of heroes and armies is interesting, choices on that level are ancillary to the bulk of the game. 95% of the game is the battles, and you can win any battle by pressing assault once. They're just boring.
