If lag is really bothering you, turn off the effects, voice, and go to a chat room with less than 25 people, and turn off all the shell icons at the lower right of the screen if you use windows/pc

probably a great game...as i finished nr 2 with all songs perfect.
the problem here, is that the game doesn't respond to all of my commands... so i just miss the notes =(

Does anyone else think right and left arrows should be swapped? I guess I'm too used to DDR so I always expect it switched.

im actualy OK at this game. i wish they could have made it so there was a little more time to hit the notes though ,lag kills you. i give it 4/5

I feel like the reason so many people dislike it because it is to hard is because of the achievements. People aren't used to having to work for those.

OK game.
The only downside is that after two songs, my vision is distorted, like after looking at one of those "illusion Spirals". (example: http://dogfeathers.com/java/spirals.html), after a song I still have the illusion that a part of my vision is moving, although it isn't.
Very annoying.
And that's because the songs are too long.

Really long songs, however that makes it feel like a better game. although it is a GIANT pain when you miss one or two notes at the very end.
Overall i feel like its the best game in the series, as well as the hardest.

Seriously, what is it with you people and your stupid cheats. Where's the accomplishment in doing something if all you're going to do is complain about how hard it is and then use a program to finish the game with no effort at all?

Just got my Up To 11 badge. Phew! Great game, excellent execution, far more responsive than v2, glad I'm not having the lag issues others report.

It's kinda fun, but the songs leave a lot to be desired. Would prefer to be able to switch the arrow keys to be a straight row of keys, and the choice of which keys to press depending on whether the notes ascend or descend could be a lot better. 3/5

song choice needs more variety...if you dont like punk rock youre gonna have a hard time liking this game,
THat being said my favourite song is mars bars and mentos because its the only one that stands out (so far, still have 2 more to unlock

3/5 Have to play with the volume off due to lag and bad songs. Even the slightest bit of lag is extremely detrimental to a game like this where you are supposed to keep with the beat. How about a setting to adjust the song delay for the large number of us experiencing lag. Still fun even with the volume off though, hence 3/5

If you ever do a SCGMD4, you should add a training mode; It's frustrating to have to play the whole song just to get to the part you're not comfortable with. Well, that's coming from someone who sucks at this type of game, so do whatever you want with this advice.
@Andyflux: Difficulty is part of a game's quality. You can't blame people for not liking a game where they suck. Everyone expects a game to be hard enough to be challenging, but enough easy to be beat by trying hard. So if it's so hard that people down-rate it out of frustration, it may be because difficulty is messed up.

I find that Andyflux's comment reflects on what I thought about the game after playing SCGMD2. I thought it hardly deserved a five star rating, until I started looking at what Amilir was doing with "Frets on Fire". I may find it frustrating at times, but that does not mean that the game happens to be any worse! So many people here have underestimated the quality of Ben Olding's games, and despite the fact that they are all quite good if you know what you are doing, they do require BRAINS. Go figure!

swingdiva - theres a difference between errors and hit notes. u get an error when u hit a note at the wrong time, the hit note counter counts how many notes u have hit. therefore its possible to make lots of errors while still hitting every note, and vice versa

I find it easier if I just don't even have the volume on lol. Without the music you don't get confusd if it doesnt match the screen. 4/5 anyway.
