i like the scoring system much more on this one than on SCGMD2, because you dont lose points when you miss a key, however, I do feel that there is a huge leap in difficulty from simple to tricky...

I feel bad for doing this, but I was a big fan of the original SCGMD series, and this one just doesn't live up to the addicting standard. I don't know if it's the constant overlap of notes, the occasional "bump and skip" in the songs, or the fact that all the songs are the gooey remnants of some underground band's emo blathering, but this game just simply can't be part of the series. I wonder if some guy tried to plagerize the game and came up with this creative assembly of fecal matter.

just to see if i was crazy, i went back and played 2 again today. in my opinion, 2 is much harder (on pro at least). and the layout of the fretboard in 2 was way too cramped, i love having 4 lines to see rather than 2. but not to be bashing 2 so much, as many people are indeed correct that the songs were much better. not to say they all suck on 3, but there are a good handful that i could do without hearing

It's very polished and stuff, but yeah - it's really harder than scgmd2. And unfortunately it's less fun to play so hard songs - it's just too much frustrating... :<
And songs are not as so enjoyable to listen, as they were in the second guitar maniac. Pity.
However I appreciate your hard work. Maybe you even have worked TOO hard at this. ;>

Oh my god... these songs really are hard. I got really mad when I found out that I missed one note on Betrayal of Fate.

Very fun, just like 2 but a heck of a lot more difficult. I love the status bar on how far into the song you are and how you have another holding key. Voice isn't as interesting as 2's though.

fags who give this low rating are crap at it simple
this is a amazing follow up to 2
2 is the best to first play but then when you complete it move onto this
it gives you some new songs are sometimes harder
i lvoe the new included 1234 or asdf means we have a extra one to worry about and adds to the pressure of it ^^
5/5 loved this follow up

Not very hard, just need practice more. But the fact that the songs are are worse and two times longer is very annoying...

I think people should know that this game is *supposed* to be harder than SCGMD2. It's like... an addition. SO DEAL WITH IT N00BS!

Really - it's get better, and easiear for me than the second one.
But those who claim it is hard - it's the sort of videogame, so it's just all in practise. Down't downrate the game, you just don't like the hardness of.

To the people who go on this site and complain about games being too hard: You're the cancer that's ruined video/computer games for the rest of us. Go back to playing Halo or something and quit whining.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As most people already said, the songs are too long and kinda suck. And yeah, not everyone will be able to enjoy this game since it is too tough for most new comers.
4/5 nevertheless.

My keyboard doesn't always register that I hit a key if I hit it a lot in a row, very annoying on switch vs evildog round 2 near end.My keyboard is mean to me.

9948067: It doesn't if your hands get tired. It even says that this one is harder than the second, so don't be an unfair guy. I loved it. Much more upgrades and more notes. So awesome. %/%

I really liked the second but this one is nowhere near as good. This one has better graphics but the songs are so much harder and longer=hand fatigue so 2/5

i found it was ok, but still has issues. 1) too long songs 2) missing note = no sound = lame 3) uh... wtf where'd the skill division go? 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Personally the songs are much too long, and while I can't say they suck... I don't really care for them either. I say stick to guitar versions of 8, 16, and 32-bit games (Mario, Zelda, F-Zero, you know what I mean). And on top of that... the difference in the skill required from SCGMD2 and 3 is... quite large, having the Amateur and Pro sections separate in the last game was nice, even if a couple songs showed up on both sides.

I agree with Ropma. Though this is a wicked game, the songs are too long and they kinda suck. Most of them suck especially for this kind of game. They're hardly melodic at all, Speedfreak being the worst. Perhaps a bad recording? Regardless, shitty song.

serious issues with this game
the songs get off from the notes so it's hard to keep on beat
the songs are too long
and i hate how the music gets quiet when you miss a note, it throws me off
3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There's no amateur and i find that lame. And there are too many repeating rythms and i hate that you can't hear the music when you miss a note, it throws me off beat.
1/5
