Agree with some of the comments...you should be able to choose any play. I like the timeout feature, much needed. Another improvement I would like is an onside kick option, many games lost by less than 3 points where an onside kick could have made a difference.

The 5 audibles are really only one. When I use one audible the option to use the other 4 disappears. I understand that the offense had too much of an advantage when we could change plays endlessly, but if 5 audibles are going to be the new normal then those audibles disappearing after just 1 audible isn't fair either.

Awful and (hopefully) regrettable decision by developer to remove playbook. I mean, we ARE the coaches and taking that away takes a lot of the joy of this little gem. Here is my suggestion: bring the playbook back AND allow player to pre-select three audible play before each game. Hope they read these reviews and change it back. Until then, dont know if I will stick around anymore. I'll give you two weeks devs.

the audible stuff was on moblie verssion, that was one of the reasson i quit playing moblie version, hopping dev had forget us at kong, as it locked like and i was happy about it. now with unplayable routes its time to quite this version too. Was a pleasure, by

Please change back ability to select routes and strongly consider adding a save feature for Firefox browser as game won't load in my IE (GL issue). Thank you.

okay, coming back to comment again. audible issues notwithstanding, the uniforms look really great in this update, and the gameplay is actually a lot more sensitive/nuanced than in the last few updates.

i agree with so many of the comments about audibles. you can tell when blitzes are going to come--that's often when audibles are called, in real games! or finding a favorable cornerback and safety lineup for deep passes. like others have said, maybe worth having a small number of audibles, instead of infinite double clicks?

Initial reaction to the update: kicking extra points is much, much harder. I made them all before without difficulty, and missed 3 of 5 and doinked in the other 2 in my first game post-update.

Timeouts are kinda cool. But audible thing makes the game no fun.
Maybe more experienced QB's get more choice of plays? But stuck with one for my QB makes it no fun. At least 2-3 per QB - even at low level.

Many welcome additions so far. Game speed, zoom, salary caps. +++ But problems still exist in that defenders still have 10 foot arms. interception detection is absolutely ridiculous. and every defending team has usain bolt speed sprinting half the field to tackle my 5 star runner with no stamina drain. And no playbook/playcalling ability is rougher than clicking through random plays.

NOOOOOOO! You ruined a great game. Where's the fun if I can't call my own plays situationally instead of being stuck with random plays?
If anything, I would rather see a playbook to choose rather than clicking through until you find what you like. This takes away a huge dimension of the game that I really enjoyed--calling plays. Now even if you audible you just get another random play.
Anyway, thanks for the game. I have played it a lot. This change is a back breaker for me, though. Perhaps I am the only one who feels that way, but I thought I owed you my feedback.

With the addition of audibles, we NEED a playbook or something. A way to choose the play we start off with instead of just getting a random one that we may not want to run then having to waste an audible. More control please.

This is my favorite game on Kongerate and I am glad that you added some new features but there is a bug where it keeps resetting. You get a cut away screen to Retro bowl champions and it shows the roster and resets the game.

first round picks get you around 4 to 5 star players. Now I understand that first round draft picks are the best college players. But now they are going pro and so the first rounders should not immediately be among the highest star rated players. I mean there rookies they are in no way the best players in the entire league

"[insert name] dose not want to be traded" last time I checked, in the nfl or any sport for that matter. The coaches and all them do not care if a player dose not want to be traded. If theres a good enough offer they will be traded. Even if they do not want to be.

One of the other big things I picked up from another comment was leading your receivers. Long as you put your receiver between the defense and the ball they'll adjust to where the ball's going, some more than others.

A 1 star defense makes more "mistakes" (bad coverage choices) and is more likely to miss tackles. Time management is important: if you can avoid giving your opponents the ball with more than about 40 seconds on the clock (less with a higher star rated offense), you can win the 'possession' game (take two possessions for one of your opponent's).

As WRs become more covered in later seasons, RBs and TEs become better 5-10 yard pass options. WR still valid for screen passes / short passes if the opposing player is playing loose coverage (>5 yards off the line of scrimmage).
Year 7. Have cycled expiring contracts to draft picks twice (sign and trade before the draft and you get the draft pick without the salary cap hit!) except for my 5* WR with capped Catching, Speed, and Stamina.

Defensive game is broken. Team ranking is meaningless, a 1 star team plays just as well as a 5 star (defense and offense). AI timing is ridiculous, they can run the field in 30 secs but takes almost another 30 secs for me to return a punt that only went to the 20 yd line. RBs are overpowered and currently the only viable pass option (on a sweep). WRs are over guarded and with the current fumble mechanics they make better downfield guards for my RB than receivers. Despite this, its a fun game and I hope you keep working on it.

LOVE this game! Thank you. Only complaint is no ability to save progress. Starting over new on each login and losing all progress takes away from repeat playing.

another reasson is that u get a decent kicker with ur 3rd pick, he will be easily lvl up and when the contract expired u can rebuy him as free agent and trade them during draft. if u do the things right u invest a 3rd round pick to get at least a 2 round pick back.

dont thonk its a good idea to kick the kicker for an extra offensive player, cos TE and OL dont help u they get few xp each game and its most lickely that they are worst player in match and u have so defend or crit them. another reason is every skill player have to earn xp more u have less each one will get. imo

Beginning tips:
1) Get stadium upgrades to get your fan rating to 75%+ for guaranteed 3 credits every game
2) Most important stat for WR and RB is speed.
3) Dump your kicker and use the extra spot for an offensive player
4) If you don't like the play showing, just double click on the open field to cycle through different plays

this game is Fun but i have a maxed out rehab facility and every season my QB, RB, TE, and WR all get injured, its annoying, also the bounces have to stop. One fraction of a pixel off and get some bizarre bounce and the 1 star defense i am playing against picks it off everytime,...everytime luke some sort of curse of the JETS past

Good concept, still needs a lot of balancing. I've tried the pass game but the fumble/interception mechanics are too dependent on randomizers/morale/catch-up mechanics. The catch-up mechanics (the boosts the computer gets when you lead) undermine the rest of the games mechanics. My 5 star defense can't stop a single play against a 2 star offense if Im even barely ahead, completely nullifying the investments I put into defense. My veteran round 1 pick 5 star running back can run half the field in 1 play if Im behind, but if Im even one point ahead he suddenly can't catch, runs slower, and starts turning over the ball like a generic player. This makes playing low ranking teams just as hard (and sometimes harder) than the play-off teams. The morale mechanics are a bit too random also.

Im done. Dont change teams. Since you cant check out the stats on new teams, you get the worst and evey team you play against returns every interception and you fumble like a greased pig.
