I would love this game if I didn't have to continually restart levels because some out of range soldier gets into a shoot out with a fortification that heals faster than he can shoot.

ah: it's not that hard, given that the player turrets are stationary. Realistic intelligence gathering, somewhat more difficult, but attacking weakpoints is easy. Import a pathfinding library from another game, calculate the firepower/mass (multiply the total firepower level by the total HP of units covering that position) levels of each point, then establish a movement path that attempts to minimize firepower / mass opposition.
For added fun, program the AI to flank cannons and blow them up from the side.
Seriously, it's not that hard and doesn't require multiple servers. It just needs some time, and while it can't be done in 48 hours, months is an overestimate.

cool game. The only thing that bothers me is that the "Hold" button to improve speed... does nothing. Please make it so it actually improves the speed. thanks. :D

minor hint when going for 'build x' achievements, severely damaged buildings with no troops tend to be rebuilt cheaper than repaired, especially if there's just a sliver of health on them. Go into calculator if you don't believe it. For instance, you get 8 money back for barricades, but it can cost up to 12 to repair, so once it hits 8 to repair, you save a little money demolishing then repairing them. Nothing is worse than hitting the last wave and having 197-199 when trying to build cannons.

I really like it... but found a new bug. Tried upgrading to earthworks. Spent the money (2x) but no earthworks that I can now buy. :(

All of the enemies are out of range for my shots and they're shooting at an already destroyed building so i have to quit the level...

My game just stopped for me ... I heard gun fires but I couldn't see any troops ... when my cursor went over my men, their green distance would show but not disappear ... Had to restart =\

@Inst, that would require so much programming that it would take months at least to make, and multiple servers to store it, not to mention the fact that it would use up a huge chunk of your computer's processing. it's just not practical. the hex idea might work though.

if your going to get a cannon just by the culverin bucause the other cannons "say" they have longer range but if you test the long rang cannon has the same range as the culverin and the other cannons just cost more and have a longer reloade rate,also damage does not matter it eather hits and one hit kills or misses + this to rate it up and let others know not to buy bigger cannons

Goodie, another TD game, but this time you can surround the exit, but the creatures can attack the turrets. Creatures=(French, Britian...) Turrets= Hired soldiers.

i got 25 achievements and didnt win. this game is far too easy to beat. all it takes is a little trick and you can win any level with minimum defense. you just have to draw it out haha

This game is pretty stupid; it's a grindfest with no sophisticated strategy.
If the devs put a remake, at least switch onto a hex system; one of the big problems is that cannons can only face in 4 directions. Ideally, the cannons should be able to be pointed in any direction, but if you can't code for that, implement hexes, which are a significant improvement.
Also, towers should have ammunition counts, and supply lines should factor into fortress design. The best defensive position is completely useless if you can't keep your fortress supplied.
The AI should also aim to send scouts to discover fortress configurations, then attempt to attack weakpoints.

I wish there was a way to pick which way your cannon will face when you place it. For that matter I wish I could rotate the direction my cannons face between battles.

the germans were gonna be the fourth faction in this game, but they had to be cut out because catafrank and spacecat studios couldnt work out the bug of the french surrendering to them before the level even started....

I like skirmish. Hard levels are especially fun because I can make a massive wall with units and win. However, endless mode becomes impossible by about wave 20. Endless mode is way to hard. Mind dimming it down a bit and making each level harder bit by bit so if you'd like to have a game that lasted 50+ waves you could. I think that it would be very fun to play a lot of rounds before it becomes too hard.

wait... what was I gonna say?... Oh yeah, there should be a "Heal All Units/Buildings" button so I don't have to look for anything with lower health and press "R" until my army is at full health.

Wow, this game is buggy. I'm sorry, but adding in a "fix all bugs" button is a pretty lazy fix imo. One interesting instance, the entire enemy army disappeared except 4 engineers attacking my wall. My troops stopped firing, but the engineers kept attacking. This is definitely not a game to go afk from.

glitch on des champs de gloirs level, where the firing sounds keep going but everything else on the battlefield freezes, and when i mouse over units to see their range the green area stays. as for the rest of the game, terribly hard. i was demolished on the tutorial level. 1/5

need to be able to demolish caltrops. can sometimes build barricades on caltrops and sometimes cant, which way should it be.

Hmm...on the later levels on hard I usually have just one route to my base and it is a killzone full of puckle guns and red coats with 3 layers of Earthworks as barricades :D

I hold the speed up button for the whole level, I build as forward as possible. And i'm still unable to get the anxious badge.... how does that work???

While the "fail safe" option seems nice, I still have engineers bugging out on me. You should make it so you can start at the beginning of a wave, not a stage. I've had to start over 12 and 17 waves in now due to the same problem.
