Fun game, but desperately needs an undo feature so you don't have to start the whole level over if you mismove one unit.

Possibly one of the best games on Kogregate! Very indepth and strategic. What it lacks is more variety, such as, choosing weapons and armor types before every mission.. lighter equipment means more mp heavier means more damage or AP, savvy? So we can have a team adjusted to our liking.. THIS GAME NEEDS AN EXPANSION! It's too good not to have more features ;)

The diamond challenges are great. I had a blast getting it done for 11. I started it off wondering how you could ever get to the SW switch and back in 12 moves and of course the answer was Taylor with the shotty, there and back in 8 or 9.

Still a few typos: "If the Lieutenant dies, you will loose the mission", and referring to the lieutenant as "he" when I'm playing a woman. Still well worth 5/5.

Alternate way to get Gold Challenge III: "Get Gold with 10 skill points", skills: Armor Upgrade I & II, Larger Ammo Magazine I, Ammo Upgrade I (10 points).. just play on Hard, since finishing successfully gives Gold medal automatically, if you can finish quickly with less damage you can even get Ruby or Diamond. Finished in 11 turns with no casualties. (I think this way takes all of the challenge out of Gold Challenge III though)

awesome man, well done. the music is great too, the dark ominous stuff sets the scene. the only thing i think needs fixing is wat some others said, an undo button would be great for when u walk into a space u didnt mean to click. but dude, 5/5

Small typo, it says in the log whenever Taylor reloads that "Taylor reloads his machine gun." It should be "her", not "his".

Your first flash game? I would call this an impressive title even from a veteran flash game maker. Favorited and 5-starred. Well done!

I really like this game. I must do otherwise I wouldn't still be up playing it at 4am.... One complaint, though: getting the diamond awards seems to be mostly about being lucky with the aliens, because acid on the floor will either slow you down (so you fail) or hurt you (so you fail). OK, so you can use the shield to get over a puddle, but you're pretty likely to get another puddle before the shield cooldown expires.
You have several solutions against the acid puddles : the shield + nanolongevity, the flamethrower and Pierce's explosive bombs remove the acid puddles. Using those 3 skills, we never failed to get a diamond award during the tests as far as we're concerned.

first started didnt get to enjoy yet but already see that the whole convo tutorial doesnt fit on screen please fix that. Some people will judge and just leave seeing that they cant read some of the words in tutorial: i had to guess a shortcut for endturn.

Why does this remind me of Doom (The movie)? Space mission (mars in movie), Aliens (mutants), 6 man squad, and going on search and destroy, and rescue missions. 'Nuff said.

Regards the final mission, the fact that the boss can spawn next/close to your guys, makes it much harder. It's impossible to escape taking damage when it happens, it happened to me and my poor guy was forced to sit still and take 50 damage and got covered in a 3x3 square of acid. I still got the diamond, but it makes it harder.. maybe the boss shouldn't attack/auto-attack(when moving close) if you've already damaged that turn?
That should be the case already : if you have damaged the creature during your turn, you can move around it without being hurt. But it will attack at its turn.

medii: I almost felt that way when I failed a diamond because I clicked too quickly and one of my guys ran over a pool of acid partially concealed behind a wall and the trooper, taking damage. It would be easy to abuse though, we have limited flashlight range, random hitchances etc, so what sort of things would be ok to undo and what wouldn't? - I ended up redoing the mission to get the diamond.

You know what is awful? Having to restart a mission because you did one little misclick. I'd like an "undo" button for whatever I did last :c

@Blurr2 ... Now that would be epic! If you were able to do a co-op with teams of six against the aliens... Well, that would be pretty nice.

Really really really really nice. Haven't got a bad thing to say about it!
I really hope there is another one like this in the works. Add ons to this would be cool, but if only a new set of maps were made I wouldn't complain at all! 5/5!

I like that losing troopers has no real consequences other than making the current mission harder. I completed mission 10 once with Farro as the only survivor.

Its really hard to see the print on the amount of points you have left on the upgrade screen. Other than that great game.

You have done a great job with this game. One thing that I did not like was that enemies do not stop spawning. If you made enemy placement more strategic that would make me love the game. Killing all enemies could also be an alternate form of victory.

Tips: move towards goal points each turn. Killing aliens is secondary. Best skills are Taylor's sprint and its upgrades (basically gives Taylor 6 MP/turn, 50% more than other soldiers)), Taylor's shotgun + upgrade (lets Taylor kill everything), Blake's quickness program (gives someone another 2 shots or a reload), and Ammo Upgrade/bigger mags. Upgrade power lights and motion detector if you are having trouble, but they aren't necessary at all.

Update about pierce's bombs.. reading the description again it does say he places them adjacent but in-game they are ranged (which is what made me think of grenades). Were they buffed or they were always like that? If it's a glitch, and they're meant to be adjacent only, I like them better the way they currently are, I never used them when I thought they had 1 range. (so if they can stay as they are, the descriptions just need to be changed on the upgrade page).
That's just an error in the description, they're meant to be that way. We corrected it in other versions, but not the Kongregate one, sorry about that ! We'll fix the description in the next update. In a very early version of the game, Pierce could only place the bombs on adjacent tiles, but alpha test showed the bomb skills were quite useless that way.

zzx: Wood's (War Cry) and Blake's (Quickness Program) are pretty nice with the 2 turns duration upgrades. Pierce's (Explosive Bomb) is great too and as a bonus removes acid/glue. I started out spending most of my skill points on Blake and global upgrades.

Great game; my one problem is that it seems the upgrades aren't well balanced. I spend most of my points on Taylor, Farro and global upgrades, as the other guys' skills are almost too situational to necessitate points...
