I have to say, I dont bother doing trade, I just kill bandits and sell their weapons. That way, I'm not watching all the prices all the time.

and i cant seeem to get the weight of my cargo down it always seems to drop to 500 minimum... i dont thing its the weapons or armor im carrying... and i sold my forage included in that -.- any tips?

ok one MORE thing... I've been selling alcohol to Qubba now for a while. I mean lots of it.
There's 12 dozen other caravans doing the route... they're probably carrying alcohol too, yet the demand NEVER goes down...
Has anyone else here considered how many alcoholics this place must have? Seriously, only 1,300 or so people live here, and yet they're somehow guzzling down 53 million metric tons of moonshine each year!!

I'm actually doing alright now. I got 2 million dollars... I want to progress with the story. How do I do it? Who do I go to first? If I take Oswald's mission, he says it will kill desert patrol...
is this a case where you can start at one side then go to the other, or do you have to choose who's side to be on?

in poca Cosa you buy 30 food and 30 forage and a countryside cart buy a jerry water can then fill the can then goto market and buy as many leather as u can even if u cant buy alot it is ok

after you get 1000 dollars from the sheriff buy a cart a water can , food , leather and forage trade with this for some time after getting more than 2500 dollars buy a horse and a cart
then again do this until you have 3 horses and sell away the donkey now if you take as much of shoes to okaidi then sell it it will give as much profit to buy 2 more horses

RedGold You need to talk to the Sherrif in Poca Cosa then he'll tell you about Desert Patrol. You'll then head to the South West City and talk with the head of Desert Patrol and start your mission there. Unfourtunately that is as far as I was able to go. Don't do the mission until you are really strong. I tried it with about 10 people but the enemies have at least 30, maybe more (didnt survive that long).

Alright, I've finally got it...
it actually IS almost a dumb-luck thing to get enough money for a car. Its made extra hard because you need a fuel container, and fuel, before you can afford a "car". But once you have one the entire game from that point forward is incredibly easy...
ok now I want to know more about the story...
I know this Oswald is a bad guy. The desert patrol are good guys. Is there a way I can find the desert patrol first, or do I HAVE to go through oswald and do his mission before I can find them?

RedGoldandGreen: try buying the alcohol from smerd or masriah for 4$ a liter. It sould sell for up to 24$ in Qubba. Also, you can make good money from getting feul from hara, selling it to Qubba, buying crude oil from Qubba (why it has 50k barrels and no production we'll never know) and sell it to hara. And, if you are in a car, you can buy gold from the Northeast and sell in Qubba for lots of cash

GreenDrag: To beat the army regiments you need about 15 ppl with at least 15 APs each and with lots of RPGs, grenades, sniper rifles etc. Army moves slowly, so if you have "cars only" caravan, you can move quicker than them and battle one regiment at a time and then heal your men in the nearest town (probably Qubba) in between the battles.

RedGoldandGreen: nilloc already told how to avoid the police. You have to talk to Oswald Raff and accept his mission, but then you DON'T actually need to accomplish it! He gives you a pass to Fort Goks military base and POLICE WILL IGNORE YOU cause you're supposed to be working for Oswald. If you don't want to do his mission, just avoid meeting with colonel Kaminski in Fort Goks base.
You can rob cars from the robbers in northeast, but you need a 10 ppl army with good weapons for this!

But see, my problem is... once I'm up there at Qubba, I still gotta outrun the police somehow. How can I do that... I first need to earn enough money to get a car. Then with a car + horse to carry my stuff, I can imagine it might somehow be possible to avoid them.
The other guy was talking about robbing a car? what... from a caravan or robber??? where??? and if it is robbing a caravan, it always tells you that it will "ruin your reputation". I dont know what that means or what it will cause.

red the starting area is VERY hard its the hardest part of the game but when you get to qubba and all that there is very high profits (buy booze at 4.2$ sell for 22$)
then there is the fuel trade since for some odd reson qubba has like 50billion crude oil its cheap there you can sell it in smerd or hara and get he fuel economy up and running so that fuel is never a problem
and you don't need 30k to ge to qubba its a cheap tactic i figured out go to valmire platz and follow an oil caravan up to qubba let them take allt he hits from robbers since they are nearly invincible when you get ot qubba TALK TO OLWALD say you will do his retarded mission but don't do it now the police will ignore you happy hunting my friend

You earn more from robbing people or some trading bug within the game.
If your main problem RedGold andGreen is getting the startup capital to trade, go rob northern robbers from cars or southwest for easy guns. BTW there are many good imba guides out there.

I've looked and looked and I just cannot find a way to turn any profit after the first few months of game time. Its impossible to predict the market, and the news doesn't help. A few hours ago I saw alcohol was selling Drush, Poca, and Cag for 24 dollars. So I decided to get out of the circle and go to Merdin... there I saw it on sale for 5 dollars... I'm like YES!!!!! I bought as much of it as I could and took it back to the 3 original cities... only to find now they were selling it for 4 dollars a unit.
I really cant figure out this game.

Now lately I've started writing down in a word pad all the values of a given economy. Each time I visit a town, I view how much everything costs, write it down, what the economy is, etc... and I've noticed some absolutely wild fluctuations that make it damn near impossible to win. Poca will sell clothes at 23 dollars a unit... when you get to Drush, they're 19 dollars... ok so you buy them, and when you get back to Poca, NOW they're selling for 18 dollars a unit, meaning you've just lost a shit load of money.

I really dont see how its possible to win this game.
The trade route you're first advised to take is leather from Poca to Cagenel, shoes from Cagenel to Drushlack, and clothes from Drushlack to Poca.
However, after the first 2 times of doing this, you can no longer turn a profit, as you've already satisfied the demand for each of those supplies at those places.
You -=HAVE=- to make around 30,000 dollars so you can afford a horse, cart, and get a car of some kind before you can go to Qubba. Its the only way to avoid the police there.
